Seems to be a lack of discussion on how to attain better times, with mostly just splits being posted. Are we not to talk strategy?

Seems to be a lack of any kind of discussion about anything :sly:

Hey ho, chaps... where's all the jolly banter? :dopey:

Very small improvement here.

T1: 15.857
T2: 25.076
T3: 21.139

Similar to my previous splits but much better T4 to the line. 👍

No banter from me because I have already grown tired of chasing a time/ghost. I prefer racing against other cars on the circuit, instead of on the stop watch :grumpy:

ARRGH!!!!!!
Everytime i find a few tenths, i lose it somewhere else!
I was faster on the first 3 sectors but overall .5 slower because of that last bloody sector!!
*SIGHS* I NEED A WHEEL!!!!!!!!
Cheers All!!!

After the large hairpin (one with yellow stripes after the hill), are you guys remaining flat all the way until the right hander at the top, I have to lift for the kink just before it.

Also, any tips for sector 1? I can't get within half a second of anyone else there.

Hot-lapping isn't everyone's cup of tea but it is the primary purpose of the WRS and is a great way to hone technique and learn the best racing lines. Not to mention being a great challenge. :)

Yeah it should be taken flat out, you just need the right line on exit from the hairpin.

Stay over to the far right on the home straight, quick tap on the brakes and turn in early towards the curb on the left of turn one... take alot of curb... then immediately turn towards the next curb on the right - keep as straight as possible and keep the car as far over to the right as you can. If you get the line right from there you can take the next left hander flat-out all the way up the hill to the tunnel. Brake and turn in towards the apex in the tunnel and keep tight, firmly accelerating as you exit. That (pretty much) is getting me 15.8xx's but I'm having trouble finding the extra 1/10ths the D1 aliens are getting. :sly:

Be careful with the 1st right-hander in T1, it can throw you off a bit if you attack it too much. You should be quite aggressive after that, I think it can also be deceptive how quick you can go through the tunnel in T1 and how early you can get on the power. The car has a lot of grip. Also, make sure you fully use the last final chicane, if you get the right line you should be carrying 146/147 over the line, stay off the kerb on the right of the final chicane, kiss the edge of it with your inside tyre.

Almost identical splits to the previous ones but 0.2 faster in the end.

T1: 15.530
T2: 24.899
T3: 20.762

The hardest part is nailing turn 1 and 2 together and carrying the speed. I find it the hardest part of the course. I'm regularly carrying 140-145mph over the s/f line but can't carry it thru the first and second corner together.

If I nail the first, I then run too wide on the second and have to brake for turn 3. Or.... I brake too much for turn one but get a perfect line through turn 2 but am not carrying enough speed to make a good time at T1!

It's a real thumb bender on the DS3! But very very rewarding if you can get it right!

It is also infuriating to know that your 1min 20something lap is toasted after 6 seconds when you dont get it perfect. A tiny bit off line costs a huge amount of time at T1

After much cursing, some more improved splits, though I still know I can take a chunk out of these times, just need to put the sectors together.

T1: 16.654
T2: 25.918
T3: 21.275

Had a better lap, but after checking the replay repeatedly I realised I just kissed a wall so I had to dump it:ouch:

My first 10 laps:
T1: 15.803
T2: 25.364
T3: 21.073

Now that I've got a ghost, I can begin spamming the restart button every time he beats me through sector 1, lol.

Thanks Vagamond, I still can't take the corner flat before the first tunnel, but I shaved 3 tenths from T1, and 5 tenths over all.

T1: 16.328
T2: 25.677
T3: 21.091

Is it legal to hit the cut off while downshifting? Like change gear too early and brake with the engine in the cut-off... Because I did this without wanting it.

New splits by the way:
T1: 15.478
T2: 24.934
T3: 20.642

I don't see how that breaks the OLR. So it must be legal yeah.💡

Gotta get the traction control down to 0 - then maybe I'll get my splits down a bit more..

T1: 16.872
T2: 26.032
T3: 21.821

PAL and NTSC consist in the format of your game, to be compatible with your PS3 and your TV. In Europe, Australia and Japan (I'm not 100% sure of Japan though) they use PAL electronics while North America uses NTSC.

Thanks LIL, but I will still try to beat the time to erase any doubt!

Wonderful splits

Nothing wrong with that limiter hitting either 👍, In fact I think it reduces your braking power? So its a hindrance more than anything
