Most people find chassis reinforcement causes understeer. And since understeer is such a huge problem with this car, I'd recommend trying without it.

I've stuck it on and found it slightly better. :)

Sorry I didn't get this up last night, I ended up hanging out with my wife all night, which isn't a bad thing.

My setup.

14.0/8.0
9/8

7/1
2.5/1.5
-.25/-.25

8/17/8

B/b 2/6

Max downforce. Chris' gears.

Lost a bit in T2, but win in general.
Car still drove 119km only, reserve in power available ;-)

Chris' tune is a bit too hard for me to use. Working on my on tune now still very basic, still need to add a bit more oversteer. But I found that you have to be at the right place at the right time otherwise you'll just understeer clean off the track.

 Good man. Here's to the patience of our goodly WRS wives.

Correct - miss your optimal turn-in, particularly in the high speed bends of sectors 2 and 3 and no setup tricks or throttle mashing will save the front end.

New splits:

20.270
18.857
16.159

Up a mighty 7 hundredths at the line and looking for another 2 tenths or thereabouts.

Oh and after direct comparison with or without chassis reinforcement, turn-in feels the same for both to me but traction is much better with it.

Re-sprayed my car Maziora Matterhorn (reflex ivory) with matching wheels and that did the trick. 💡

20.254

PB in sector 3 as well. There's another 0.1 or so out there but given the difficulties with consistency on this combo, that's probably me done. Very happy with my lap, particularly given my previous difficulties at Laguna. Kevin, you picked a sweet ride for this one. 👍

The car really works on this track, my 5 speed balances the car well and takes the crazy out of it.

T1: 20.703
T2: 19.454
T3: 16.548

I've tried you're tune and like it, but it seems to want to understeer for me. Is that a fair assessment, or just my driving technique?

Better at the line by about 0.32s, which means I lost some in T4. Using Chris's tune since the beginning, by the way (thanks Chris!).

The new Camaro has a tendency to want to not turn at all. It takes a good effort to get it changing directions.

I have to keep telling myself... Slow in and fast out! Seems to be working for me, just need to get it right for an entire lap!

Impressive splits Daniel!!!!

The car seems to go from understeer to oversteer quickly. I get off the throttle and set the car well before the corner, that's what works better for me. Just can't get the hang of it.

Thanks Al. That "slow in, fast out" thing is finally starting to get through my thick skull.

Mine too. When I first started this combo, there was tire smoke at every corner, lol. I was surprised I had any rubber left after 1 lap, lol.

Handling is a different deal from my tranny selection. When I look at gearing I always look at how well first works when cranked as tall as it can go. This track doesn't allow any thing that slow so first is just a place holder. So now it's just 4 working gears, then I only use 2nd in the last turn before S/F straight, so now it's just a 3 speed when I run the rest of the track.

When the car has loads of torque like a super charged monster I can short shift and live in the torque band so tracking is important. The car lends it's self to pushing (understear) during WFO so you just pitch it in, a gear higher, a little earlier and let it step out in a torque slide. This car shows my old saying "if you can take a pusher and turn it into a slider you'll have the fastest car on the track" ....... works for me :)

Trying a few things with the tune, there seems to be a lot of different ways to arrive to what you want, just have to find the correct balance.

New splits though I messed up the last sector

I haven't drive on Seca a lot. Till this sweet combo showed up and have some distance under the belt by now, but i'm really struggling to atleast combine a couple of good splits. Making me really :nervous: And Corky makes me the most :nervous: That T3 is really killing me. Let's do some academy here.

Can some one please talk me to that whole T3? (from that first left hander after T2 till that corner just after the T3 line, i would really appreciate it.)

Wish I could help but I'm having the same problem. I can't figure that whole section out, my best through there is .553. Yuck

Edit: A little better splits, but t4 is way better.

Still no clue in t3.

Sector the 3rd - A Vagabond's Tale

About 50% on the brakes just before the 200m marker, change down to 4th, release brake progressively as you turn in. Once pointed at the apex, back on the gas ~50% carrying ~103mph through the corner, using all the curb. Progressively apply full throttle as soon as you're past the apex using all the curb on the exit as well. Flat out up the hill. Point the car at the rumbles on the right as you approach the blind summit before the corkscrew - just before you hit the rumbles, full braking, change down to 2nd, trail braking gently as you turn in. Kiss the apex and get back on the throttle, shifting up to 3rd on the downhill. Use the curb on right hander, wait for the car to settle on the exit then full throttle run to the braking point for the next corner.

That do? :)

Not the fastest through t3 but this is what I do, give it a whirl :D

Corkscrew - 1st gear works for me here. I use it for the immense engine braking that gear has to get it turned in, but only for decel, not accel. If you wait too long the you lose out. S quickly down to 1st, then quickly up to 2nd as you come over the crest, then 3rd with part throttle, maybe 50-60% max throttle. Change really early on the exit, about 3-4k is fine, stop it spinning up, really short shifts, then gentle power until you are pointing out towards the outside of the track for the next turn.

Thanks guys, will try it later, luckily there's still time to figure it out. :)
