So I'm not naming any names but some duders were discussing if doing a 'draftteam' would be allowed. this would mean guys would stick together and draft together and push each other to get fast laps. They didn't want to do it but were just curious if it would be allowed if someone did it. I found it an interesting discussion, so anyone know if there ware rules on this topic?

Qualifying deadline has now past

Well done Wes for the pole

Congratz to Wes on the pole with a blistering lap. đź‘Ť

Wes is on reserve so if he can't make it then JTV will get pole position.

The lounge splits will be announced tomorrow. All drivers on reserve are being asked to update their status by 3 hours before race start. At that point the lounge splits will be published.

The registration image on the front page of the thread will now show qualification times and display the starting order (of confirmed drivers with reserves at the bottom). It will also display the lounge splits as soon as that's announced.

Note: Several drivers failed to qualify by the deadline and their status has been automatically changed to reserve. If they decide to race they will be placed at the back of the grid in room B.

Very dispaointed. I'm sure I'm no different to many others, but it's frustrating to see where you could have been minus the horrid mistakes made in quali.

Especially so if it looks like your gunna be in the second room. Big potential points lost if you drop a long way below your potential in that respect.

I'm not surprised but that's really disappointing, I made a real mess of my qualifying. Hope I can make up for it in the race. Great lap Wes.

Wow, fastest non-McLaren lap! I'm pleasantly surprised. :D

Well done Wes for taking pole đź‘Ť

See you all for the main event...

Hi Guys ,

I will be starting from the back of the grid for tonight's race , I meant to qualify last night but something came up .anyway see you guys tonight . Time is never on my side :(

Congratulations Wes, very fast lap. Was expecting this result for me, but hey, I'm excited about the race tonight. Will be a blast nonetheless đź‘Ť

Someone in for a little practice this afternoon @ 13:00 GMT? I'll be doing some laps in the main lounge.

Always handy to catch the car in front :sly:, if they want to "scratch the back" of a driver that's pushed them before it's just part of racing.
Just make sure you are not blocking or impeding other drivers :)

Race day is here :)

Please could the reserve drivers let us know if they are able to make the race before 17:00GMT so we can finalise the room splits please

Here is the room settings and a few notes on the grid start procedure.

Time chanage and weather settings for the Le Mans Race.

Race start time : 5:30am
Time progression: 1
Weather: 0%
Weather change:0

No chance of rain and no chance of darkness.

We will be racing during the sunrise :).

Lounge settings

The Lounge will be open 1 hour 18:00GMT before the race and the time will be set to 4:30am so when the race starts at 19:00GMT it will be 5:30am.

This means that when the lounge is open it will be dark for around 10 minutes till the sun starts to come up, but this way there is no need to reset the room before the race.

Due to the checks needed on the cars and wanting to start the race at 19:00 GMT we would like to able to start the checks at 18:50 GMT so could all drivers be in the lounge and ready by 18:50 GMT as you will not be able to go into the settings once the checks are done.

Race start procedure

Note: Due to the length of the track we are not doing a 1 lap rolling start, we have considered other starting points for the rolling starts but have come to a conclusion that a grid start would be best for this track.

Drivers would leave the pits in order of qualification and line up on track, with the pole sitter's location being just before the dunlop chicane in the same order of qualification and wait for the countdown to the race start, once the timer to 'race start' has been reached you are to remain on the grid until the timer reaches 1 minute when the race is to begin.

Delaying the race start means we are able to reshuffle the grid positions before the start in case PD decides to alter it.

When the grid is formed after the race countdown and if PD has put you in the wrong grid position you must type wait in the chat and the race start will be delayed while we reshuffle the grid into the correct order.

Grid Reshuffle procedure.

To reshuffle the grid, if someone types wait into the chat all drivers are to ghost their cars (Handbrake and push 'Start').
Once we know which drivers are out of position, we will ask those drivers to reverse to the back of the grid, then line up on the grid spots in the correct qualifying order. The new race start time then will be decided, which should be the nearest minute when the grid is corrected.

Examples

Pole sitter is at the back of the grid at the start and types wait.
First all drivers are to ghost their cars.
All cars are to reverse to the back of the grid behind the pole sitter, once all drivers are behind the grid, drivers are then to go to their grid positions in order of qualification so the grid is correct.
A steward will then announce the new race start time.

6th place driver is out of position on the 8th grid spot instead of 6th and types wait

All drivers to ghost their cars.
All cars from position 6th are to reverse to the back of the grid, once all are behind the grid they are to return to the grid in the correct order form qualification.
A steward will then announce a new race start time.

Multiple drivers are out of position

All drivers are to reverse to the back of the grid and return to the grid in the correct qualifying order with the pole sitter going first, the 2nd and so on.
A steward will then announce a new race start time.

Please take care while reversing as to not cause a pile up please.

Damage

If you have recieved damage while reshuffling the grid please type Damage then we will hold the start untill the driver types ready.
A steward will then announce a new race start time.

Regulation checks

Regulation checks to begin at 18:50 GMT, once the regulation check has been done you are not allowed to enter the settings or tuning menu.

Regulation Checks
  1. PP Limit set to 587 and all Ford drivers must enter the pits.
  2. PP Limit set to 589 and all Ferrari drivers must enter the pits.
  3. PP Limit set to 598 and all Mercedes drivers must enter the pits.
  4. PP Limit set to 602 and all McLaren drivers must enter the pits.
