Seen u sign on. We had 14/14 we restarted the room to make room. :(

Please keep us updated if you aren't going to make it guys

As well R1600, so sorry for spinning in front of you. I looked back and seen you spinning and was Great. He wrecked trying to not wreck into me. :( we had some good racing till then. So much I let off waiting for you. After about ten seconds I seen Posi pass you and was like. Sorry bro. I got lucky no dmg. I gotta go after first.

Jav,

Also curious what were doing relative to power on the Viper.

It was more of a "followed you off" scenario in a desperate attempt to try and keep up. When I tried to reapply the throttle, it took a hard shot to the right and I nosed the wall pretty hard. After sitting there in disbelief for about 20 seconds, I decided to limp it around to the pits where I just gave up. No reason to continue the race at that point since it was just for practice anyway. No need to wait for me, was my fault.

Jav,

Also curious what were doing relative to power on the Viper.

It defo needs pulling in by half a second or so. Running at 650hp, I've seen it dip in to the mid 48s around Nurb GPF. The Ford GT can manage 49.2s at a push.

The 50 HP drop will stand, even with that restriction in place it had the fasest lap time in Laguna but by a more acceptable margin. In Tokyo it had a full 1.5 second a lap over the rest of the field, that is just unacceptable, it needs to be equalized. The restriction took it down enough IMHO, in Laguna it took it by only about .2xx wich is good enough.

On average on this type of cars 50HP = 1 sec, offcourse there are exceptions, but for the cars in this series it holds true.

One other thing, Mitch you need to cool it down a bit on the start, didn't like at all that start, or pace lap at Laguna.

Hmm, wonder how much slower it is at leguna with 600. I was able to pull a 1:16.9 with 650hp.

We tested it at laguna with the 50hp cut and it took one second from that time for Atlas and Owens following behind with a 18.3xx with the rest of the field running 18.4-18.5, wich is good enough to start the season.

I was running 18.4's and couldn't keep up. That was with the RX-7 pretty much on the edge of control every lap.

Tbh, I don't even think the power is the main strength of this car any ways.

Best lap for me with Chasing R1600 was a 17.9 I gonna say that was some draft and pushing it really hard.

Average laps were 18's

The RX-7 is a very particular car, it might need to be looked into... I'll do some testing tonight and see what it can be done.

Jav, I'm talking to my Dad about iracing.
Rather, he came to ME about iracing and asked if I knew what it was. ;)
I'm REALLY enjoying rFactor right now though.
I've set the left paddle shifter as the clutch so I've been practicing my heel and finger downshifting. :P
Been getting quite good at it if I do say so myself. :D

I'll try the basics first, get three months for the price of one, see how I like it.
First upgrade will probably be the F2000, as one of my friends drives in that series.
Then the Jetta TDI cup car, which my other friend drives. ;)

I needs Porsche. :(

That's a hefty last-minute HP drop for 1 car. Don't wanna brag or anything but the fastest lap time is a combination of the car and the driver, it's not just the car. Perhaps I should have driven another car yesterday to show it is possible to keep up with the Viper. Based on prior testing I suspect I can go 1s/lap faster than the Viper @ 600 in at least 3 other cars at current specs with enough tuning and practice. That said, what's the deadline for switching cars?

@Hon, I tested thoroughly around Nurb GP/F and was able to lap in 1:48s in 4 different cars including the Ford GT @ 555. Again, YMMV.

With the right tune that car is a whole different beast, when I first tested the car for S1 it needed the 680hp to be on pace, for S2 I went deeper into setup with all the cars and even at 650, it was fast. Initially I didn't wanted to take 80hp from it but I knew it would have to be done. I hope it is enough to close down the gap for the rest of the season.

You are definitely right on that one, that's why we will be staying with the 50hp drop and not 75.

You definitely need the StarMazda, awsome car to drive and you will always find at least 20 other drivers in every race you enter!
also take a look at the discout codes thread in the computer gaming section before buying your subscription!

This.

I think with the car just handles better to be honest. Like I said before, with the RX-7 at the same speeds as the Viper I was on the edge of control. Make one small mistake and you're into a barrier and your race is finished. (hence my issues yesterday in both races)

@ ultrap13: Not to brag, but if anyone can keep up with you.....I can. ;)

Forgive my stupidity, what does YMMV mean?

Unless somehow you can change the horrible steering on it I don't see what can be done

I don't know you but judging by the way you drove the horrible RX-7 I don't doubt it. As a matter of fact I wish you had driven any car other than the RX-7 and would've likely won the Laguna race. It would've put the perceived Viper advantage into perspective.

I can help with balancing the cars if needed. I like driving them all, lol. Though the Viper is extremely quick in the corners (in season 1 testing 2-5mph faster then my F1), and extremely good top end.

Well I made the GT Academy trip to Silverstone last month, so there's several people that can vouch for my driving. :dopey:

Haha when I saw R1600 posting in the thread I was hoping he wasn't signing up for GT2 because I wanted a chance to actually maybe win possibly

Laguna last night was fun. There was a lap or two where I was right on hon's bumper. Then near the end I could almost catch up to Jav and then lose him again. It was a lot of fun though.

Yeah that was fun.... The sticky brake was peeving me off.. I was braking on straights to get rid of it!

The start was a bit weird though... I swear u darted in to the pit wall at the start!

I kept seeing your Brake Lights flash. Wanted to let you know you was resting a foot on the brake. You made mention of the brake issue before I did though. Haha

Is it a DFGT? if so we have this issue.

Wondering if adding a small rubber preventing the brake from coming back all the way. Then reset pedals by pulling power and cable. Seems the thing comes back farther every now and then leading to partial brake when it dont return. So removing this little area of trouble may be the trick.

Will try that out.
