Here it is, the Veyron by AA. I like the Veyron a lot and I like this colour scheme as well. It's a nice model though the interior could have been done a bit better, especially in this price range (my opinion anyway). There's no engine cover to remove, but you do see the engine at least, and there's a movable wing at the back as well, you push a little button underneath. The car is the fastest one in the world with a top speed of ~253mph/407kmh, as well as having 1001 metric horsepower (987 "convential" hp), and it can do 0-60mph in 2.5s. It's got a W16 (two V8s put together) and four turbos. Pretty crazy. According to Jeremy Clarkson at Top Gear from that episode with the Veyron, it's something special to drive, and even though it weighs like 2 tons, all the car magazine reviews I've read of it say it handles like a Lotus Elise. Probably thank the advanced 4 wheel drive system for that.

Enjoy the pics.

actually you are wrong. an american company has recently beat the bugatti's record and the only thing stopping it from becoming the fastest production car in the world is that fact that it has yet to go into a larger scale production. i forgot the name of it but ill brb with some more information

Edit: it is called the SSC ultimate aero TT. 0-60 in 2.8 and is capable of 268mph. they said it spent more time in the wind tunnel then most air craft do.

great model by the way

And what tyres is the SSC Ultimate Aero using? From what I know, the Veyron can only do 253mph because of the Michelin tyres.

That i have no idea, if your really interested you should look it up. The thing is, that the ssc is only using a v8.

Its basically a superlight, super aerodynamic supercar with a enormously powerful v8 we americans are so good at making. :D

I know the veyron probably still has more in it but the SSC probably has some more to. you really think tires is going to make a 10-15mph difference ( which isn't alot in just looking at it but at those speeds its enormous amount. )

EDIT: I also won my AA 1/43 scale 1999 wrx wrc for $10.00. I cant wait until it comes. I plan to get some 1/18 scale models also but im tight on money ( i need to get a job ).

one more question. where do you guys keep your models? will models fade if placed in certian places? Is there anything else i should know to keep my models in tip top shape and quality? thank you :D

Tyres do make a difference. I quite clearly remember reading that the Veyron is limited to 253mph because of the new tyres that Michelin developed for them and the fact that those tyres had to adhere to road safety rules or something of the sort. If the Veyron had racing slicks, I'm sure it would probably do 260-270mph.

Isn't that like saying "Thrust SSC has beat the Veyron, and the only thing stopping it from being the fastest production car in the world is the fact that it isn't in large scale production" :sly:

:D

Avoid windowsills, or anywhere where the sun will shine on them for long lengths of time - the paint and stickers will bleach and fade. Otherwise, anywhere that's flat and where you aren't likely to knock them off of is fine if you don't mind dusting often. The best option is to get hold of a cheap display case or glass fronted bookcase, if possible:

Plenty of space for models, plus the dust stays out.

Yeah, my room is a tip. Shuddup. Last decorated when I was 8.

Where and when did it beat the Veyron's record?

The Veyron has proven it can do 253mph. As far as I'm aware the Aero SSC hasn't proven anything yet.

the only thing stopping it from becoming the fastest production car in the world is that fact that it has yet to go into a larger scale production.

And I agree with Roo's point above.

there is only one thrust or whatever that is. As far as i know they have built around 25 SSC's. If you really want proof you'll have to look it up ( makes me look stupid, lol ) but im wicked tired right now. Ill try to find an article for you guys.

EDIT: http://www.sscautos.com/ this is their website. the ultimate aero can "supposedly" go 273hp from what they've calculated through wind tunnel testing . ( which makes me look stupid again ). There has already been a huge argument on another forum im on in myspace and it was said through research that somebody had found "the SSC ultimate aero tt has already proven itself with a record of 268mph and still had plenty more in it but ran out of track."

Have you guys seen this Audi R8 by Spark?

They're pretty overpriced, and they're sealed as well. But man is that livery gorgeous..

I am hoping that when I go to Le Mans this year, they'll have some of these at a decent price.

Oh well, if a bloke at another forum says it did it, then it must be true.

If it had proven itself, you would think the SSC website would mention it. So, until it does, its slower than the Veyron.

But anyway, back to the models. And tidy up your room, Nathan.

Yeah I saw someone show it at DH I think, and I gotta say its a beautiful looking model but yeah price is kinda steep. I may however get it because its an Oreca car.

i have:
citroen 15 cv ta (burago) scale 1/24
renault 4 cv (reedition les jouets solido) scale 1/43
cadillac coupe de ville '49 scale 1/43

Can someone give me a few pointers as where to look? I want to find a Saleen S7R 1:18, and a Ferrari 575 or 550 (both preferably) 1:18 racecars and a Lister Storm racecar (guess the scale!).
Quality is not really an issue, as long as they are 1:18.

looky what i got today

I cant believe the amount of quality for a 1:43 scale ( ive never really had any good models, thats probably why im so suprised ). and I won it for only 10$ :D Im so happy, lol

A bit unimpressive against many other models in here, but this is what I got for my last birthday:

Yellow Lamborghini Murcielago
Yellow Honda S2000
Blue Dodge Viper GTS (White Stripes)
Had A Kenworth Rig
Yellow Le Mans C6 Corvette (#64)

Have tons of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars

Actually, if you're in Canada, right now you can get it for $75cad (about 33gbp) from Toronto motorsports.

They also have the Webber model with the racing suit piece.
