What the hell. Why is there a mini child aside a model Cobra?

Very awesome pics! My brain itches a bit.

Well, the truth is that he is not editing the die cast to real life size, he's actually a mega genius who has created a 1/18 scale model of the earth which is so realistic, that it has its own gravitational pull (and that it needs a very big shed to put it in). :P

I very seldomly buy larger models, but I had the chance to sell this to myself from my work cheap, so I did:

gmp - 1:6 Ford Mustang Dashboard Replica

It has working tiny ignition cylinder, glove box(w/working lock), dash is supposed to light up, I thought it was great. As I started playing around with it, miniature 'owner's manual' got sucked inside the opening in the glove box. I gently shook it upside down, hoping to get the owner's manual to fall out, steering wheel came loose. Light up dash didn't work either....... I guess it's going back.

It's a shame it's going back because it is absolutely awesome 👍
That's OK. I superglued the steering wheel back on(it'll no longer turn, but oh well....), stuck it inside the display case at work, right next to my AutoArt Mustang race car, so I'll get to see it for free. :P

I'm now, as @Cano put it somewhere sometime, "giddy like a college girl in a plaid skirt."

Still though, really sorry for your luck. We, as collectors of one thing or another (or as you show, multiple things), we are bound to have something not go our way. I don't think even the most serious and passionate of collectors are immune to such things.

Oh, yeah. I whine a lot, but I'm over it. As you may be aware, I've moved back right along to the hot wheels again. :P:tup:

My reason (out of three others) for collecting Hot Wheels: Its cheaper than collecting the bigger scale diecasts. However, do not get me wrong: collecting Hot Wheels and diecast cars are both great things to do, and HWs and diecasts are equals, with nothing against each other.

Hey guys, wondering if you could help an Aussie out?

I've spent a amount of time lurking in this thread but have yet to post anything yet. You guys post some truly great photos and it's awesome to see peoples collections and their latest finds and additions.

I'm looking to get a few models but haven't had a lot of luck with my local hobby shop, I'm figuring that buying online would be the best bet.

What I'm after is a 1:18 Toyota TS030 #8 from Spark and was wondering if anyone around my neck of the world have had any good experiences ordering on-line and would mind telling me where they purchased them from.

My second query is about AutoArt. They have the model in stock but do they ship out to Australia? I've poked around their website but I'm not certain about their shipping policy.

Thanks in advance and when I get them pictures will definitely be coming.

Cheers

Ouch! Was it minor like a tube fell off or huge like the car turned to ash when you touched it?

The 1/43s look real tempting. Especially as I can't find a good Zonda 1:43 any where
But that 905! And the F50... Ok all of theme are tempting.
..1:43 are tricky, they are alot smaller then 1:18, but "nearly" just as detailed, but, knowing that you will buy alot of them, in bulk, tricky part is, alot of them are expensive as hell, and next thing you know you will end up spending a thousand dollars to several thousand dollars in short while..

I speak from experience.

Think ill pace myself then, I really don't have the thousands of dollars (or even pounds) to buy bulk...

Ebay and Paypal are your best friends. You can set up Ebay to search Worldwide, or only in your country. The thing with Ebay and Paypal is, is that you are fully protected. If you buy an item listed as brandnew and you get a damaged model in the mail, you probably will get either half a refund or a full refund. Depending on whether the seller placed an incorrect auction, or whether it got damaged during shipping.

Just be sure to always check the seller's rating before you place any bids. Scale18, My Little Bolide, CK Modelcars, Modellissimo are all of them trustworthy sellers of models. Lurk Ebay for a while and you'll know what is a good deal or a horrible overpriced deal after some Ebay camping.

Too bad that Australia is such an expensive country to ship to or from, because I've missed out on a lot of fantastic deals if it weren't for the ridiculous shipping costs!

Cheers for the advice and information Bram!

It was looking likely that I would have to go down the ebay route. There's a retailer or someone selling TS030's with a 'buy it now' option but they are in the UK. Found that listing ages ago but it isn't up now. I may have to bite the bullet on that one since it's such a new model.

Shipping from the US seems to be the killer. $50AUD on average

Here is my Birthday collection (which was yesterday) part 1. Part 2 will come sometime this Tuesday.

All are 1/24 scale Bburago

@Bram Turismo Looks like AutoArt made the Toyota TS020 in all the liveries for both the 1998 and 1999 years. Do you know if there are any differences between the 1998 and 1999 cars other than the livery?

Minor differences, mainly at the front. I think the air inlets beneath the headlights were larger on the '98 car. The '99 car had small fins on the side of the front bodywork and the engine cover seemed a bit steeper curved downwards. Whatever the changes were, they were minor as the car was ridiculously quick from the get-go.

I received my models today. TS020 is mint, but there's a minor issue with the Audi R18 unfortunately. Nothing too big though luckily. I'll contact CK about it, but I'll try and get some images posted.

I have a big box in which my new PC monitor came. I might try and glue some clear white paper in it so I have a good backdrop to shoot images with. Or maybe find something black and a piece of glass to place the models on. 👍

What's the issues with the r18? Wonder if it's the same as I had.

There seems to be some glue residue on one of the front tyres. But I'm not sure if it's glue at all.

And Carlos warned me about the antennes, but the small metal L-shaped antenna pretty much broke off instantly when I tried to remove the model from its box and barely touched the antenna. I guess it's a Spark thing, but it'd be better if it was actually glued into the bodywork like with AutoART models instead of it being barely glued onto the bodywork.

I went through 4 before I gave up let's see if you can beat me :)
