Ironically, after my initial Wham-icide via radio clock, I've only heard the song once since then.

Bummed to know I could've been much closer, but @Aki Ishikawa's paranoia also makes me think otherwise

I'm pretty much in the clear now. No more shopping left to be done, and just heading to my family's for a few days tomorrow. As I know the song isn't in their yearly seasonal playlist rotation, I don't think I have anything to worry about!

Right up until you turn to the radio and BAM!
You get Whammed.

Keep those eyes peeled.

The evil people in department stores and high school cafeteria's. They should have their own level of hell.

Well, I do suppose that having to work in a place where you're outnumbered by teenagers does do things to someone's sanity. Completely destroy it, for example.

So say I PM you saying I need something amended, the link I give you doesn't go to the 'issue' but instead goes to Wham! Last Christmas. You'll be as Whammed as Ken will be. Sucks to be a moderator in this game!

And warning points could possibly be given.

Ken isn't that dumb. Good job for just admitting your plan.

That's not my plan, I'm much more capable than that. As it is he's trying to Wham me. We've called it a Wham-War.

It's not difficult to just regard every single link you post as a Wham attempt, turn off the speakers and check where the link actually goes. :P

I'm reluctant to say anything else, do I'll just say, 'inside'. (Insert Evil Laugh)

If only, as a moderator, there existed some sort of tool that gave us an idea of where a link might take us. Alas, where could such magic be found?

I suffered a cover today but still had that few seconds of dread while I worked out who was singing.

This is the longest I've made it without being Whammed! Any year since play begun.

Still in.

But the playlist I have on random has the song on it somewhere. It's like Wham! Roulette.

Playing with fire are you? I had to go out twice today, but didn't bring headphones on the second run. Didn't hear the song.

Every single link is Wham! ALL OF THEM
It's true. Even if I've copied & pasted the URL myself to create the link, I no longer click on the resulting blue words to check that it works properly. That's what they want you to do, they're all traps.

Well... I'll probably avoid it this year, being as I'm sick with an apparent cold/sinus infection and cannot work...

My ex-girlfriend posts a video about x-mas featuring her and some other guys and girls, done by our local tv broadcast.
Of course you are ALWAYS interested about ex-gf stuffs so I've clicked on the video...and 🤬
Long 2:40 mins but 3 seconds of the song with a guy singing over it, you can clearly listen to the song this time, not a cover, not a remix, clearly Last christmas.

@Daniel I'm out, I don't see the girl since July but she still managed to do some jokes on me

what a dishonourable way to get whammed.

That's what you get for stalking your ex

So this morning, I walked into my sister's room to ask her if she wanted breakfast. Once I got in the room, an unmistakable noise caught my attention.
That unmistakable noise was in fact, George Michael.

Wham Counter: 5

I participate in the same contest in a German video game forum. After the Sony Playstation conference someone posted a video of "Day of the Tentacle" featuring Last Christmas:

vimeo.com/ + 113827439

I divided the URL into two parts, so you can not click it. If you want to watch the video, just add the nine digit number behind the slash. That video kicked out many users. The trick is not to click any video immediately. Just let other people watch it first and then read their comments. If a video contains Last Christmas, someone will always leave a comment. Participants leave a warning message and non-participants wonder why the video features Last Christmas.

Another user in that forum gifted a Nintendo Game Cube in Secret Santa. The console was maliciously modified and played the song when turned on.

I avoided the song today by skill. We had a company breakfast and christmas music was to be played. I was the first one in the room and took every CD containing Last Christmas. I put the CDs behind a cupboard, where nobody could find them. After the breakfast I got them back and put them under a bag in the kitchen. I knew someone would find them there. And the best thing is: Even now nobody knows about the competition. It's like the first rule in Fight Club. Don't tell anyone!

Whammed! yet again today. This time playing snooker. I was just lining up the pink and then on the radio came the unmistakeable sound of George Michael. At least I still managed to pocket the pink.
