.: Drivers Briefing (Read! Read! Read!) :.
Welcome to WSGTC, newbies! I will keep this brief and in simple English. Race clean, disciplined, and respectful around your fellow competitors! Fast but incompetent drivers need not apply - I'd rather have slow and clean! Read the Racing Code 685 times (Click Here!).

You must follow the Car Specs and Regulations pictured below! Not following specs will result in an immediate Disqualification.

While inside the race lobby, do not use the 'CHAT' feature while Stewards are sending out instructions for pre-race checks. If you have questions, go ask them NOW! Otherwise, read the OP, it's there for a reason. We will be using a special pre-race qualifying that is listed below - Read it! Thank you for your patience!

Car Specs and Regulations (All cars at Max Downforce!)

Pre-Race Qualifying
  • Since we're not doing the weekly qualifying, we'll do a pre-race one instead.
  • After pre-race PP Checks are done, the track will be reset.
  • The field will be given 15 minutes to do their Qualifying in Free-Run
  • If you are satisfied with a lap, DRIVE back to the pits. DO NOT press PAUSE and then EXIT!
  • Again, drive back to the pits! Do not press pause and exit!
  • Stay in the Pits and wait for the start of the race.
  • Once everyone has been confirmed to be inside the pits, the host will start the race.
  • Once the countdown hits ZERO, DO NOT MOVE!
  • The field will roll slowly and maintain 50mph/80kph
  • Maintain your grid spots while holding a double-file grid (8 rows, 2 columns)
  • Follow the Rolling Start Procedure Inside the OP!
  • Goodluck and Have Fun!
Eligibility for Winning Reserved Spot in Championship:
  • Win the race
  • Finish 2nd if a Veteran Wins
  • Finish 3rd if Veterans finish 1-2
  • Must not ask any questions that you can easily answer by reading the OP. :sly:

Is your car brand new? Those figures are cars with broken-in engines. At-least 200km in the odometer.

Question on spec of the car how do I manage to make Lexus Denso Dunlop Sard SC430 515 bhp? Must the limiter be on 95.6 % & engine will be stock which is stage 2 with any turbo I can choose? Still can't get 515bhp exact.

Thanks

I'm in the same car, and i have a bit of the same problem and mine is fully broken in.

The question is if we should let the spec depend on PP or BHP. With PP 612 you can't get over 514 BHP. You'll have to raise the PP to 614-15 i think.. Don't remember exactly.
But that must be up to the people who knows more about this stuff. And I will check tomorrow the exact numbers.

Its 515HP, 612PP with FULL Aero.

Ahh okay that would mean that if I - in my car's current condition, raised the pp to 612 it would get to much power, as I am not running full downforce. Which mean that I am on 610 pp now and not 612.

But if you don't want to ride full downforce. You should still aim to get 515 hp instead of the 612 pp. Or is going to be "everybody need to ride full downforce"? 💡

You must use full downforce on every car or it's illegal. There's no real benefit to lowering downforce besides possibly changing some aspect of the handling of certain cars, it's absolutely not of any use to try and increase top speed.

Those are the specs, you just follow them. Besides there is no advantage in decreasing downforce.

Ah okay I see Masi added it to the car regulations at the top now. I had not seen anywhere else before.

About downforce I would say it could have a benefit running with less, depending on track, suspension setup and driving style. :)

Well . But now it is clear that everybody should run full downforce. That's the important thing. :D

But i tune the dowforce, not for top speed but for improving balance... so is tha't prohibited ? and i think there is an unbalance of the cars performance, for example, the lexus are very slow in comparison with the GTR's and the NSX.. even without HP restriction

I thought you were allowed to reduce aero but if you do you are not allowed to increase engine power to take you back up to the pp limit for that car

Exactly that was also the thing I had in mind. But as it can also improve the top speed it has been prohibited.

And about the speed differences I'll try and see if can recognize that in the preseason race tomorrow where I'll be running the Lexus DENSO 👍

The Lexus Denso took a couple of Poles Position last season (i think).

All the cars went through rigorous testing and are pretty close to each other. Here's my little interpretation:

NSX - Power advantage (top speed), requires more finesse around corners. Hardest to tame, most rewarding to master.
Favored on tracks like: Fast tracks like Monza and La Sarthe

GTR - I'd say this is the mid-range car - easier to drive around the corners - lacking in top speed/acceleration compared to the NSX. Much more forgiving to driver overall.
Favored on tracks like: More twisty - Suzuka, Laguna, Nurburgring GP-F

Lexus - never had experience with the Lexus in general but i think it's about similar to the GTR.
Favored on tracks like: Same as GTRs?

I did not compete in GT500 class so someone else could offer a more deeper explanation. But less assured, those specs are pretty good - we are fine tuning it for Season 3 👍

this might be a dumb question but what would be a competitive GT 300 time at Suzuka? I wanna know what I'm up against. :irked:

I done the best race lap last season with a 2:03.xxx ;)

^^^^^:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:^^^^^^^

I definitely need more practice then! :ill: I'm consistent in the 2:05.xxx area with still room for improvement, but the lap times I see for the qualifying scares me even more. My pace is totally off with that stupid Nismo 380RS.....I'm off by more then 10 seconds and don't see much room for improvement there. :yuck:

So it looks like I will never qualify for the series.

ok... so please clear me.. if i tune down the aero without increasing the power, is that OK?

There will be HP and PP checks to ensure that nobody cheats. So dont try to lower aero and increase HP, you will be caught. :sly:

The NSX, you got it right. 👍 The GTR has more power than the Lexus(straight line speed) but it isnt as good on corners(mid to low speed corners) as the Lexus. If the specs arent changed drastically, which I hope :sly:, then the cars should be balanced and like last season we could see every car taking at least a win. That's what I want :). Competitive machinery.

Edit: oops, Double post. Sorry!
