Everyone joins the track and starts to quallify. 1 driver clicks on watch race and then live timing. As soon as the first driver completes sector 1 on first flying lap, you will know if the room is ok. If the sector time shows up in live timing then the watching driver can join the track with everyone else and quallify. If the sector time doesn't display, it means the room is messed up. So reset the track and start again. In my experience I have never had to reset the track more than once. It is the simplest way to ensure correct grid positions in my opinion.

WOOOOOWWWW thanks a looooooot man you ROCK

You're my savior!!!

@masi: forgot to ask you. How to register the car I'll be used for WSGTC?? Hehehe sorry another noobs question.

OK thx for the info.

Time to prepare the car hehehe

First of all Ram, you need to qualify in top 30 (I think) in your division. Then based on those results you get to pick your car. Last driver in Q gets to pick first and the fastest driver gets to pick last. So you might not be able to pick the car you want, so first qulify then tink about what car you're racing with.

Sooooo,

it means i need to buy all GT500 cars wkwkkw.

ok, I hope I get top 30.

can i choose the car later (not after qualify)? maybe i need to think which car I should use. hehehe

Where is the thread that I need to read to find a steward who is hosting a room now?
I'm ready to do my qualifier at Laguna Seca in the Superleggera

I'm afraid you're wrong about that Niss, it's the other way around. Check the OPin the Qualifier's thread.

Oh sorry my mistake then. But it would be logical that slower drivers pick first, no?

Not if the cars have good parity. The way it is now, i think it gives an extra motivation to do well. Plus, if it was the other way around, it could probably encourage sandbagging from people who really want to pick their favorite car.

Mate there have been some changes in the qualifying do to time issues. So you only have to qualify ones. But on suzuka but still in the Superleggera :)

Here is the procedure used on the last race of FMSC: (all credits go to Dr.Watson) :D
1. After warm-up reset the track
2. Run 15 min of quli
3. After the total time has hit min 15 the host sends out a message saying "Checkered flag is out, finish your lap and quit to the pits".
4. Host then backs out to the lobby and goes to 'watch race' and then the timing screen
5. Here the host can verify that everyone is off-track. Then send messages telling the order of the cars. "p1 outlaw"; "p2 turbo"; "p3 brosif" etc... (feel free to write down times and order if you're awesome)
6. Host then backs out of the 'watch race' and re-enters the track.
7. Hit start race.

If your order is wrong, SAY SOMETHING!

The host can then reset the track and we grid up in the established order for a restart.
This seems to me like only adding another 2-5min of work and delay to 100% ensure that the start of the race cannot be messed up by bugs, the internet, or d/c issues.

Great idea NEP 👍

I assume this is what Litchi is trying to tell me to :)

Heum...nope. What i was trying to tell is very well explained by Twisted, here:

Everyone joins the track and starts to quallify. 1 driver clicks on watch race and then live timing. As soon as the first driver completes sector 1 on first flying lap, you will know if the room is ok. If the sector time shows up in live timing then the watching driver can join the track with everyone else and quallify. If the sector time doesn't display, it means the room is messed up. So reset the track and start again. In my experience I have never had to reset the track more than once. It is the simplest way to ensure correct grid positions in my opinion.

No, it is not too late. Sign-ups are still open.

@ Litchi - roughly the same concept actually :D Thanks for the suggestions. I'll brain storm and write up a step by step procedure.

I think they are the same. Right twist?

No I think they are quite different. In 1 way you run 15 mins of quallifying then check the times, then tell everyone where they should be on the grid, then start the race. Now you find out if the grid is correct.
The other way, 1 car does an outlap plus 1 sector. Now you know if the grid will be correct. I think it's a big difference. Most times the grid will be ok. On the few occasions that it won't, you just reset the track. It will only take a few mins
