I think that despite the planned maintenances there has been an acceptable amount of time for people to qualify especially with the deadline extension, unfortunately it hasn't worked out for you quite as you would've liked it to this time but you're not the only one.

Sounds like you had a busy week anyway and to expect races to be postponed because some planned maintenance is scheduled for a relatively small amount of the available qualifying time is a bit unrealistic. Often people don't have the opportunity to qualify at all and have to start from the waiting list in D2 and get on with it. You had the opportunity to qualify and are currently sitting 8 tenths off the pole which should be good enough for D1, not only that you've decided to do something else anyway, I'm struggling to see your point at the moment.

Please don't take this as a rant towards the admins or whatever, I was just annoyed at how things turned out.

And in terms of doing something else, I planned to do this race and then watch the gig, effectively missing a quarter of the show. I am aware that there are other people who are worse off here and I do truly feel for them, it's just that I felt terribly unlucky. Yes, I could of qualified on monday, and should of, but I thought I would have time to qualify on Wednesday or Thursday, and practice. Tuesday I had no time. Wednesday I did not get back home until about 7, and I had work to do, had Masi's V8 race to attend, and then I realised I couldn't qualify on Thursday, so had to rush it on that day. Then the next day they extend the deadline. That is what annoyed me. And I didn't expect the race to be delayed to next week, I thought it should of but it isn't up to me, it's up to the admins, I'm fully aware of that, I just felt the need to give my opinion on the Facebook page. Why else was I so annoyed? I felt this was my best, and last, chance to turn the championship back in my favour and stay in it, by getting a podium, cause I felt, with another practice, that I had the pace. Looking at the Quali registry, I would not have been pushed back as far as I thought, but I knew that enough people would qualify ahead so that I'll get knocked out of D1.

Great news, and not so great news.

Great news is, I'm done work early and I can both qualify and race today.

Not so great news is that, with the 4:30 AM start time, I didn't get any sleep last night as that was a huge change and my body clock had no chance to adjust, so there's a chance I'll take an impromptu nap and sleep through the race.

👍

Grab a RED BULL and chug it about 20 minutes before green flag! You will be ready to rock.

One thing I allways forgot to say...

The GT 300 in the begining should go as fast as they want on the lap they do before the formation lap, and regroup in the main straight and then doing the lap at the right speed. No need to go crawling on that lap while GT 500 guys wait. That said you must leave some space to the car in front and respect his speed. I don't wan't to ruin my tires on this lap. :)

After that on the formation lap no need to go side by side the entire lap. I would say group up after the 130 R, which is the turn before the chicane.
What you say Dennis??

I'll probably "crash" in real life near the end of the race, and then "crash" in the game.

Yea, no need to sneak around for the pre-formation lap. But do not push it either. It's a good thing to sort the grid before you start your formationlap.

GT500's will sort while you do your first formationlap.

So regarding the first lap that GT300's does, sort your positions by taking off in the correct order, and keep a decent pace around the lap. Stay well clear of eachother, cause we do not want a spin or something during this procedure.. especially not one that will end up in damage.

NOTE: Remember that the startline is NOT the same line as the one where the timer starts. So just because the timer starts when you pass the line to do your first real race lap, you can not overtake.. The startline is where the pit exit is place.. I'll post a picture..

So essentially, we're doing an F1 formation lap, than our usual Indy style formation lap/start.

You could say that, yes. 👍

Im just starting my Dinner then il open a room

Is there a room open already?

and UAE isnt it late start time for you why not go out and then come back hehe?

PLUS: as ther are really only a few guys left to quali why dont we do "SAME CLASS" as there will be hardly any gt300 guys in d2 and only 5 or 6 in gt500

I'd thought of that already:indiff: Im supposed to go to a bachelor party tonight. Dont know what time it'll be finished. Most likely at or after green flag time:crazy:

who's left to qualify?
Annoyed with my qualy as I was 7/10ths off on my lap then spun for the second time in succession at Suzuka on the second lap.

We got Toyosupra - GT500 in the room. As well Josh 1998 - GT300. Not sure either qualified yet.

No harm done mate 👍

I was just thinking that the only thing the admins could have done earlier was extend the quali deadline and I thought you said that even that wouldn't have helped you because you still wouldn't have been home in time today

I was also going to suggest same class for tonight given the GT300 situation

Thats 2 then! Good stuff. Sad to miss suzuka though! Good luck with the race!

Or! Bring your TV, playstation, and steering wheel to the bachelor party!

im kidding of course :D

Cheers!

Good luck to everyone at Suzuka! 👍

As the deadline is now, I could have made it with enough time to qualify, and I could've practiced throughout the week. But yeah, nothing I could do as soon as I posted that quali time, just gonna forget about it and look forward to the next race of WSGTC :) Monaco isn't it? Now that's a track I can't wait to make my way around :sly:

Anyway, good luck to everyone racing today, hopefully there'll be no connection issues (Seeing as I won't be there :scared: ), I'm tipping Denilson for the win in GT500 ;)
