While the server is down I have been doing some practicing in Practice mode, lapped a 1'20, anyone know the difference in lap times between Online and Offline by any chance? Would be great if it isn't more than a seconds difference.

Some say if you choose one make race and fuel and tire depletion on it's the same as online.

Practice mode has fuel and tyre wear OFF. So you are faster, almost 2 secs faster per lap.

Yeah Biffy.

I managed to somehow to a 1:20.699 after an amazing run on Denilson and Remy getting a spectacular draft at exactly the right times by both of them.

Best in practice for me's a 1:21.3xx. Nepalii etched out a 1:20.9xx through some voodoo sort of thing.

If you do a one-make race in practice with tire and fuel simulation on, you'll have the same results as an online lounge. The only difference will be the rate at which the tires warm up and degrade to a degree.

Ahh thanks for that guys, don't know how but I am going to have to pull out some sort of trump card in terms of set-up. I'll try one-make race in a bit, fingers crossed there's a good time out of it, I'm getting sick of not being competitive in Qualifying.

Attention: Due to GT5 server maintenance interfering with our final day of qualifying for week 8 The qualification deadline has been postponed to 19:00 GMT Friday. That's thirty minutes before race room connect time.

Race green flag time will be AS NORMAL @ 20:00GMT.

I have to disagree guys, I've tested cars as much as 5mph slower online (@250mph)

But in short, the main difference is you have less wheel spin when not in a lobby or lounge. Depending on your tune, it can be quite noticeable.
Just my two cents.

Did a few laps and managed a straight 1'22, there is a 1'21 in there somewhere, I can feel it.. Hopefully it'll say hello when I qualify tomorrow :sly:

I'm getting exactly the same splits, average turn speeds, and lap times as I did in all the practice races we've done this week. It's exactly the same 👍 Yes this is in a one-make race with tire wear and fuel depletion on. The tire wear's even the same as well. Car reacts the same way to tuning. I've been doing all my testing this way for a while now.

Well now I have to try it.
It would be a first for me, some cars I built offline can't even be driven online.:ouch:

Edited this in to my last post for clarificationay:

It's all about whether tire and fuel sim. is turned on. That's absolutely the only difference. With tire wear off certain aspects of the set-up's weaknesses are masked which is why the behavior of the car becomes different online when TW's (tire wear) on automatically.

Sounds just crazy enough to work.
I will definitely try it. 👍

Yeah, the only thing that's annoying is the occasional puddle of 7 A.I's you're forced to overtake, but other than that it's good.

The physics are the same IF you are not experiencing lag. With lag, trust me, braking points are longer, less grip,etc... You get the idea. But besides this, yeah, its the same.

Dennis... PP for Lexus with 60 Kg of ballast is 547.
Maybe Adam can give all other stats as he should have all the cars. I can help you with the Garaya if needed.

No kidding, I would've told you all sooner but I thought it was semi-common knowledge!

I guess experiences my vary, but that's just what I've been doing for a while now.

Just watch out when you're overtaking, I try not to push hard when I'm going through the A.I. 'cause the draft can pick me up and give me some mis-leading numbers. Annoying variable.

...and I thought I had the pole :( Oh well, at least I know its going to be a hell of a race despite hating this track so much.

I'll have to qualify later tonight hopefully before the deadline dont know what time I will be back from oulton park tho??

Posting quickly from my phone at work:

Here's my pole lap!:

Just love this track... i'm sure the NSX driver's are wetting their race suits everytime they fly down the corkscrew :sly: (pun intended? ...wait, what? i forget.)

Well anyway, can't participate in this - will be away for the whole day. Didn't even get the chance to do my Power Rankings :( Goodluck all.

Hello,

My name is Sean C, and I just applied for a GT300 position for tomorrow's race. I fully understand the rules, and am looking forward to the festivities. Thank you for your consideration.

Thank you. Could you please explain the qualifying procedure to me? I've read all of the literature, however I'm still not certain on *how* to do it. Do I create my own lobby?

Hi Sean. Read it over a couple times more and keep in mind that only stewards or capable hosts may set up qualification rooms so you can run your laps under observation by a steward or CH in a controlled environment.

Good luck. Deadline's about 13 hours away.
