Really bummed by my (lack of) performance today. I thought this would be my best chance after La sarth to score a podium, but I guess it's not meant to be.

Lost the draft early trying to work with Ravellron, then dropped a wheel in the grass and was stuck with GTP_Pinoy. For some reason we just don't race together that well. He'd pass me on Nascar 1 and 2, then he'd take the Bus Stop literally 20-25 mph slower than me. I was losing huge amounts of time being unable to get away from him, so I pit early on lap 8.

I was decently fast (pulled off three straight laps in the 52's by myself), but kept making little errors and by the time all the other GT300 guys had pit, I was still stuck in 7th. Parked it on the apron to save myself further stress.

:/

2nd after crashing into the pit wall WOOOOOOO!!!! (i drove my whole last stint with front right damaged )

This is a prime example of Scottish grit and determination! :D

so that also be my best ever result and my 2nd podium well chuffed! :D:D:D

Totally messed up my race for what must be the umpteenth time this season, and almost shunted NEPALII off as well. Really need some help or something with consistency next season, it's absolutely killing me, and I need to change my car as well, cause it is a b***h for me to control around the corners with a DS3.

Had a great chance as well starting from 3rd, sick of making these stupid mistakes.

Dont worry, Biffy. It wasn't your fault, it was someone else's. Im not mentioning who, and Im not reporting that person, as I dont want to make the series look bad. Race to forget....

Sorry bout that Mule. I will check the replay. I thought I braked too early but I was just trying to be cautious. You caused me damage on my rear transmission though but I managed to control the car.

You're a faster driver than me, I know you know that (after several races that we've been together). You could have given us both a little gap during the bus stop area since you know you can always overtake me anytime. :)

Congrats to Paginas and Moleman on their respective wins.

My race was actually pretty uneventful. Stayed back a bit at the start as I don't trust my DS3 control of the car in traffic. I was actually running solid consistent laps and found myself in third as I went in for my one-stop pit strategy at the end of lap 15. Unfortunately I couldn't get my car to turn enough to miss the right side wall while exiting the pits. I had my car so dumbed down for the controller, that I just had no turning radius.

Well, that was the end of me. Tried to run a few laps with the light damage, but just have no controller skills. After going off multiple times I pulled into the pits again. With the light GT500 starting grid, and a few disconnects, I managed a 4th place. I am pretty stoked on 4th, as I get some decent points, and also get to remove some ballast.

For the most part the GT300s were quite good about leaving a place to pass. I apologize to some of you for the slowness in which I passed. I was really afraid I was going to lose control of my car while near you. I hope I didn't slow any of you down too much with my slow, cautious passes.

Well, it was fun to try a race with the DS3. It gives me some extra perspective on what you controller users go through each week. I would be willing to try a controller again, just hopefully it won't be an NSX next time:sly:

Yeah, don't worry about it. Sorry for giving you damage, btw, 100% my fault.

Long writeup coming:

Started the race knowing that Mole and I couldn't see each other :scared: Aderrrm, Paul and I were constantly swapping positions. I tried to watch how Aderrm and Paul positioned their cars on track trying to guess where Mole may be. Only that didn't work when I was leading the pack :scared: Paul in the MR-S was really fast on the straights but slow through the bus stop. He'd always pass me just before the bus stop obstructing my view of turn-in which eventually lead to my spin around lap 8. Aderrrm was smartly staying back and then easily pulling us in on the oval...lesson learned :)

Rejoined behind Ravellron after spin, we ran in tandem for many laps. At first we were just slowing each other down but then Ravellron realized that my car is much faster thru the busstop and we started to cooperate nicely and started to catch up to Paul. No idea what happened to Aderrrm, all of a sudden he dropped to 5th. Then as OwensRacing in the GT500 caught up I dug my teeth in like a bulldog and ran with him for 2 laps, closing the gap to Paul. I knew Paul was driving with damage but couldn't break away from him. i thought I had broken the draft a few times but no, his straight line speed with the draft was just too much. My 70kg ballast didn't help either.

Last 3 laps I was trying to devise a strategy to keep Paul behind me on the finish line. I think I had it all figured out except another GT500 caught up on the last lap in bus stop and my poor Impreza ran out of revs, ruining my devilish plan :D

Congrats Mole and Pagi. Great racing with Ravellron, Paul and Aderrm. One of the most enjoyable races this season 👍 FINALLY A DAMAGE FREE RACE 👍👍👍

Actually a decent race for once. Had a really nice battle with Pag, Nepalli and Biffy for the first 4-5 laps. Biffy dropped back a little, so it just left the three of us. Had a little incident with Nepalli around lap 8, causing me to pit lap 9 and ruining my race strategy of a 1 stopper around lap 16.

From then on, I was pretty much on my own, slowly started gaining my way back up. Around lap 17, my tyres about 3/4 left, I overtook Pag. Managed to keep a good lead on him until around lap 26, when my tyres literally just went to ice. Had a few laps battling it out with him until he just took off. He messed up a little on corner 6 & 7, and I could see I we're getting closer. I exited corner 7 a little too quick, hit the enbankment sideways, and I just spun straight onto the grass. Luckily I didn't gain damage. Pitted end of lap 27, and well from then on, I was just going for FL. Managed a 1.42.8xx which I'm hoping is a win. Anyway, I'm happy I had a decent race for once in the series, started second, finished second.

Anyhow, need to hand it to the GT300 guys for moving out the way cleanly.

Congrats Mole and Pag!

sorry if i caused you to spin its hard when my car ruled on the straights i had to go somewhere with all my speed and i actualy contemplated sitting behind you on the last lap i thought actualy if a flaten it now i might have a gap big enough so that gt500 could keep me ahead and it worked JUST! :D
but yeah great racing was had by all in that first stint...... 👍

Then i was gritting my teeth determined i wasnt going to pit and drove my absolute best with the damage i seen owens and thought 🤬 thats going to bring Atlas on my tail!! and tried my best to hold you off.

This was by far the best race ive ever had the pleasure to be a part in :D:D:tup:👍:D:D

Thanks for a good race everyone. 👍

Like Atlas, I knew he was around the pack somewhere, but since we'd spent probably an hour trying to sort that (via multiple cache, ps3 and router resets) ghosting issue only between the two of us, we went with it anyway. Thankfully it didn't affect either of us in the end, so phew. Though if you were at the front of the pack of Paul/Adam then it must have been pretty damn close at times, haha! :D

To start with it was just sticking as a pack, slipstream doing all the hard work really. We were probably all doing fairly similar times, maybe Paul a bit quicker, if in free air. I managed to pull a small gap of about 4 seconds after a bit of miscommunication I think between Paul and Adam at the chicane which allowed me to break the tow whilst they battled away. By the end of the first stint I'd got that gap up to 6 seconds just by being consistent while I guess they were swapping places.

After the pit stops I was now 16 seconds clear - I don't know why. I know Paul hit the barrier on the pit exit but that isn't 10 seconds, so I'm not sure what happened there. Did you guys make sure to brake for the pit entry? I think GT5 holds you in the pit box if you come in the pits over the speed limit. That's the only thing I can think of! My out lap was properly rubbish and my in lap nothing special either!

From there I obviously had a quite good gap back to the pack, so initially I was trying to keep the gap there or thereabouts at 16-20 seconds just incase anything were to happen, but in the last 5 laps I backed off to get the car across the line. The big gap from after the pit stops meant I could relax, whereas in the first stint I had Paul and Adam clear as day in my rear mirror, which meant I was having to push - so it turned into quite an easy race for me from there. For the whole race though I just tried to be as consistent as possible as Daytona is such a harsh punisher if you get it even the slightest bit wrong at certain corners. In the second stint I must have done the first 8-10 laps of that stint within 0.3 of one another, was great and felt so good, so flowing, so easy. If only it always felt that good :D

Cheers all, can't wait for next race 👍

i hit the wall face on had to reverse what a tit i am so yeah 10seconds were lost

If my quick calculations are correct, next week will be a huge race for GT300 - I think there are going to be 6 points between the top three drivers (after dropped rounds) assuming no penalties to change the order from today. :scared:

Edit: Meh no, might be wrong - the GT300 results dump and table on the front page seem to have wrong totals, haha - through adding up the results over the season, plus Monaco and Daytona's (provisional) results - if you drop 3 rounds, it's (based on the maths in my head :sly:):

Atlas: 422
Mole: 383
Adam: 380

Which means it's Atlas' championship already - probably has been before this race actually - though if someone could double check the figures for me (assuming no penalties in GT300 for this race - I don't think there will be) that'd be great 👍

On those figures, if I win, get pole and fastest lap I can get to a total of 453 - but Atlas' minimum total for the season, even if he has a bad race at Nurburgring, will be 454, by using one of his 5th place finish points and dropping the Nurburgring round instead. That's assuming all bonus points count, I think you only drop the actual round's score?

I know we have the finale race at the end in the NSXs but the championship as a whole is just as important if not more so imo :P

Edit2: Actually I have no idea, haha, looks like there are points for DC % completion, I haven't really paid attention to how the point system works - but it looks like the OP and GT300 results dump spreadsheets are incorrect anyhow, so could do with fixing before next week so we know the amount of points people need to qualify for the Top 4.

no penalties for me you Aderrrm, Atlas and Rav as far as im concerned we all drove Fast and clean! 👍 besides my fumble! :sly:👎

nords sounds like fun MR-S up the long straights :sly:

Thanks Masi, its Credit to Denilson for creating a such great series for us to race in. (also with help from Wardez Masi ect ect :sly:).

Then add to that the level of drivers in here it makes it such an upredictable championship and all the more fun 👍

the rest i dont know

Had a quick glance (replay) on lap 10th - 11th showing Atlas and Ravellron battling for position. I was surprised Atlas did not pit with his engine damage and front & rear transmission damage as well. I was even more surprised when he managed 1:52.432 on lap 11! It scares the hell out of me i shifted back to my car's view. You must be on steroids or something, lol. Mayweather (the boxer) will not like that. :D

It's on like Donkey Kong!

I drove the entire race without any damage. The damage indicator in the replay system is buggy and often wrong. It knows that someone got damage but many times assigns it to the wrong car. Happens in pretty much every replay.

Reading from a few post back, i'm glad you all have a decent good race :) After all that miserable race at Monaco this is just the way to make it better :)

Great job for the winners and participants. Hopefully i can race next week :)

That's a relief... you're normal after all, just a lot faster than the rest of us. 👍

had great race, finally got a win under my belt for this season. If I get time over the weekend I will try and update the results...

and nepalii, please do report people so we know what happend etc and then we can chat if overly aggressive..

Really glad to haer the race was a good one (for the majority). 👍

nurburgring will be a close one..

Results: As Andil pointed out, there's a possibility that the totals are incorrect. I will ofc double check that during the week.

I've been burried in work, and will be until thuesday. Thuesday evening is FOOTBALL (Sweden-Hollan), so by Wednesday, I hope to get totals sorted in co-operation with masi. 👍

Congratz to Pagi and mole for their respective wins!
mole is prob used to it.
And I can really feel pagis exitement. Getting a win in the GT500 field is really hard work, so many evenly matched driver in that class.. It's impossible to say who'll win from race to race.... If remy's not in it....

Gratz again guys!

After the pit stops I was now 16 seconds clear - I don't know why.

Well... me and Paul were trying to catch you up, at least I was - I think Paul seemed to think we were fighting for position lol. I pitted on lap 16, paul a lap later. On my outlap, I was going into the bus stop when a certain few people were having a mid-race discussion on the chat. Normally it doesn't affect me that much, but on a corner like the bus stop where if you put a wheel wrong it can go really bad (another example is 130r) this time it did. I looked left to see what was being said (as you do...), braked/turned in late, was compromised for the 2nd apex, ran wide on to the grass and slid back onto the track. Because I had lost so much time and momentum for the final straight, I decided I wouldn't lose much more time to have a word because some people can't keep their mouths shut.

Anyway... Atlas and Rav came out of the pits and was just keeping with them for a few laps. Pinoy got into the mix, slowed me down (although not his fault, he was fighting for position) into the bus stop and I lost the slipstream with Atlas and Rav.

From then on, when I put in good laps the gap between Atlas + Rav and me would stay the same so I didn't really care much from then on. I was aiming to finish 4th here, but the usual cock-ups in a WSGTC race happened.
