This is the controversial Mulsanne chicane exit:

CLEAN OR DIRTY? I thought clean but Masi and Hortus said dirty so I qualified w/o crossing the line losing about .3 sec.

As far as everything I have seen posted.. that is clean as long as you make the rumblestrip on exit.

That should be clean. Although you have all 4 wheels on the other side of the white line, your right-side tires are clearly on the right side of the Rumble strip.

Wardez and I deemed that to be clean in the Lotus series, so it should be counted as clean here.

If not, then there's a serious problem.

That's clean, you really need to rely on what it says in the Round Specific thread firstly and not what someone says to you in chat.

Because those white lines aren't lined up with the strips. It should be obvious that they're not course boundaries.

As long as you're on the correct side of the curbs, everything is fine.

Not a chance... Your lap was crystal clean.

But if you are serious about 5 sec penalty.. give me one as well. I, 100% cross that line every time I turn a lap at La Sarthe.

Anyway! I had a good lap going on my Qualy run until I lost it and spun on the very last corner exit ended up with a 3'04.xxx I think i lost somewhere around 8-10 seconds there as i sat on the gravel...

Still, i'm looking forward for tomorrow. I feel a bit rusty but I got teamate Kamy to keep me company in D2

I cede...it's too complicated. It's just one of those moments where interpretation (or misinterpretation, if you will) has made things a little messy. I'm not watching any more of the replays as, apart from those moments around the chicanes, everybody had clean laps (in that any off track excursions definitely did NOT lead to drivers gaining ANY time whatsoever).

I'll post the times in the race thread and leave it to somebody else to order the spreadsheet (thanks in advance 👍) as I really need to get to bed as I'm knackered and will only end up getting it wrong - matchsticks would struggle to hold my eyelids open right now.

On a separate note, I am really looking forward to tomorrow's race. I will be in D2, but with some sick fast drivers. I am also very much looking forward to seeing how D1 turns out. I will be rooting for my teammate Wes of course.

The debate was whether crossing the solid white line at the chicane on the Mulsanne straight was illegal or not.
