Guitar Hero III

I'm at the 3rd tier right now, 2 songs into it. And I went ahead a bought a few custom songs. My Curse is hell on the fingers, Take This Life I can't pass. :(

I'm doing career on Expert btw.

If anyone wants to challenge me or play some coop or something online i'm up for it, just hit me up on Live.

And so far Live for this game is pathetic, I haven't been able to get into a game either because of connection or because of the session no longer being availabe.

So live is having the exact same problem as PSN. Must be a game issue then.

I beat My Curse finally and can mange 33% in take this life now, better than 8% before. I just got to Hard tier 3.Dragonforce is a no go, its going to take me a while to get past the intro.

You can check stats online so thats pretty cool.

Me and Blackbird just played like 14 songs. We're pretty evenly matched. I think I would have done a little better though if I didn't play him after I had already done Reign In Blood, One, and Through the Fire and the Flames. TtFatF isn't as hard as everyone made it out to be. There's a few complex parts, but its mostly just really fast strumming.

Oh, and the Slipknot song really pisses me off. Waaaaay too many 3 button chords. :grumpy:

I was playing at a friend's house last weekend and it appeared some notes in "Welcome To The Jungle" were not properly synced. Anyone else noticed this?

It is as hard as people think, When you are a good player it may not seem as hard. I thought i was good until i played TtFaF. I think its more me getting used to the new controller.

Has any tried the song by Prototype? The chart is broken :yuck: its the dumbest chart I've ever seen. The most ridiculous note combinations I've ever seen. Looks like something a person new to charts would create. Thats my opinion as someone else may find it creative but thank goodness its a bonus song.👎

Honestly though, aside from about two complex parts, all the song is is fast strumming. I find the Slipknot song harder than TtFatF.

Why, what's the major problem with it?

I'm planning to pick up my copy when it's out over here. I really loved Guitar Hero 2.

KM.

Harmonix did GH 1 & 2. Neversoft did GH3. In all honesty, they did an admirable job considering they didn't have access to the previous code.

My main problems are with the HUD. The Rock meter is hard to decipher. The rock power meter isn't as easy to read as it was.

However, the notes you can HO/PO are emphasized much more and easier to notice. Before it wasn't that easy.

Overall, very good game. But it's the first time for Neversoft. Give them a chance with the next one. :)

I'm playing this for PS2.

Been playing it since Saturday, and now I'm stuck at the second last selection of Songs: SlipKnot and such. On expert, these songs are insane. I mean I thought it was hard when I had to play Paint it Black on Expert, but the Slipknot song is ridiculous, and so is Knights of Cydonia or whichever other one is in that category.

I can't pass Before I forget. :(

It's 78% in where it's just a tone of close chords that I just can't keep up with. And at the end where it's super fast i'm usually in the red it owns me (I already use star power earlier in the section to stay up)

Ok I passed it second try but I feel bad that I can just pass that part. I can't do it.

And raining blood owns me.

It looks like I will be in the "Japan" section for a long while. The 7s and 3s songs is insane, Knights of Cyanide is insane, the Slipknot song is insane, I can't even get past the first chorus on any of these songs. It's just ridiculous.

First time through and honestly first time ever hearing some of these new songs from 2006 and 2007. I finished the first 25 songs one time through with about 2.4 million points, usually running from 87% to 93%. I haven't played since August, so it takes a while to work the rust out from my normally frozen GT fingers, lol. Lovin' the game so far tho, hammer ons are WAYYYYYY easier to nail now and I dig the occasional triple chords too :)

Good luck guys on the last boss battle on expert. I've tried 11 times in a row, can't do it. Whatever.

13th trys a charm! Dragonforce is really fun to play but I don't know if i'll actually be able to pass it, maybe.

Can you get past the intro? I sure H e l l can't. I'm on Tier 6 on Hard, Slash was easy too.

The bonus sons are fun but not as interesting as GH2, there is nothing out of the ordinary like Trogdor and Thunderhorse.

I love the intro to "Impulse" and some of the other songs sound cool when playing.

Haha Thunderhorse was like my favorite song to play on GH2. It was in my top 5.

Jordan was fun on expert too...up until the solo at least.

Can you get past the intro? I sure H e l l can't.

I've only played it on the ending credits and in practice mode. I fear that I won't be able to pass it so I just play practice but I got 83% today on it in practice. I feel like I do the intro okay. I guess I could go into practice and to the intro section see how I do.

But TtFatF is a one-a-day song. After that song my hand starts to go into some bad pain right after i'm done then start to shake. :odd:

EDIT: Just really quick, 63% on fullspeed intro, 82% on slow, 93% on slower. (The very last part after the hammer-ons messes me up) [66% fullspeed second try]

Anyone know if the wireless guitar for the 360 will ever be sold separately? I was just going to buy the game from HK (only $60 AU with postage) and just use my Xplorer until I can buy the guitar separately.

I beat all of tier 7 finally but why is th Encore the easiest of the 5?. Its just finger work and not really that hard if pay more attention to where your fingers once you know what you need to press. I paid more attention to my fingers than the fret bar.

Raining Blood is giving my trouble but I'm getting close to getting it once i get the first few bits of star power to get past Mosh 1. I can only get 48-52% of TtFaF's intro.

I'm not feeling like i'm playing my best right now since I messed up a bunch on La Grange to warm myself up then I went ahead and tried the intro and failed about 80% past the intro. I was inbetween the green in the yellow for a while too. Oh well. It's not that important... yet. So I did it on practice and did a 79% worse than before.

I think the producer who said the difficulty was between GH 1 and 2 never played them.

I'm lead to believe that the penalty for missing notes is harsher than the first two games. When blinking red you can get 20 notes in a row miss 1 and you are blinking again.

Well I mean expert is expert right? I think it's a bit stupid to complain about how hard expert is, I mean come on it's the expert level! Not everyone should be able to pass the final tier in one go otherwise people would be complaining about how easy it was.

I can only imagine how ridiculous final 5 songs on Expert must be like.

I'm stuck on the Slipknot song on Expert and I think it'll take me at least like a few weeks to get past it. Near the end, there's a long part that consists of:

O-O--
-O-O-
O-O--
-O-O-
--O-O
-O-O-
O-O--

With like 0.3sec between each, it's just insane..

I got this on Thursday...I started on hard to get used to the new guitar.

I made it through hard very easily, Raining Blood only held me up for about 4 tires because of that 1 section early on.

Anyway, i'm on Lou right now and I can't seem to beat him. I've tried like 9 times...i've only come close once.

It's making me pretty angry...I definitely see the difficulty difference betwee Gh2 and Gh3.

Who's complaining about Expert? We are talking about individual songs, you know the way they are designed to be hard like massive 3 chord note switching that have toned up the difficulty. I don't think its stupid to complain anyway, we have these forums for a reason, to post our thoughts regardless of what they are. Plus Ebiggs, Blackbird and I are good enough to know what a hard song is.

Mustang that part was not hard for me the ONE time I ever beat the song. I used hyperspeed set on 3.

Took me 3 tries to beat Lou on hard, what I did was take the first 2 attacks by him use one just so he messes up and misses a power up. That allows me to make my power ups. once i get 3 i hold on to them until he gets a part with many notes then hit him with all 3 and that pretty much did it. Whammy plus double notes combo will do it.

Yea i've been trying to do that...but failing...

But yea also for some reason I can't beat Holiday in Cambodia on expert...I swear i'm hitting the notes but like at 13% I fail.

Same. I moved down to hard after that. :indiff:

EDIT: I feel good about myself. I just got a 412 note streak on My Name Is Jonas On expert! :D
