Lou - He's just plain hard, he plays easy solos compared to you IMO
 
Yea...I've tried one multiple times onw, each time saving my start power for the solo.

But after the first initial very fast solo, i'm left in yellow, and then the rest of the solo after that gets me.
 
Failed TtFaF at 99% last night. Gonna try for it again today after I warm up. I figured out a better way to use my starpower to get me through the solo. My fingers-in-pain weren't able to do the very last part (hold red and tap orange and blue)

Maybe not... I just tried it 15 times and I can't get past the intro again. Whatever i'm not in the mood to get frustrated my a damn game.
 
Whenver I play One on HARD, I get past the really fast part(where the notes just go crazy) I go all out on the fret board. And for those wondering, it doesn't sound like crap because i turn the sound FX off. But what kills me is the part right after that part. When I get there, I've lost all of my concentration. (I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed you know.) Then it says SONG FAILED!!!!!!!!!

Welcome back to Earth :D. I can only manage 2%.

Velvet Revolver pack is worth it....

......IMO. Foo Fighters is just 3 chord madness, some may like it but its like tier 7 all over again.
 
Got this today, started playing it a few hours ago...I'm now on the 7th tier of expert. My fingers need a little rest before I get RSI though. :( Nearly beat Slipknot and Disturbed but ended up failing around 70%...3s and 7s I'll need to practice a bit and Knights of Cydonia I stuffed up bad at the start of the solo trying to sight read it haha.
 
I beat Raining Blood in quickplay now im stuck on it in career. Beat the other 3 songs with Number of the beast being the easiest one and beat the solo without star power not that i had a choice. One is just kept hitting buttons with full star power and passed the "Because It's Midnight" like solo part.

what is "sight read" and why do people keep saying that? I see it a lot on you tube videos.

Finally! That last part almost got me again but I worked through it although my fingers were screaming in agony.

Good job 👍. I'm getting closer and closer as i nearly got past the intro.

I beat nearly all the bonus songs with the song by Dope giving me trouble 👎.

The boss battle songs will be a free download. The more and more I play the more i think its the best Guitar Hero game so far as the first 2 games have no advantage at all.

I'm assuming your first 100% on expert.

That song and Avalancha are very simple, and will be my first 100%'s if I ever get one on expert.
 
I suck at 100%ing songs, I'll always start thinking about how cool it would be to 100% it then stuff up something really easy on the main riff. :(

I guess I'm gonna go finish the hard career then I'll head back to expert 7th tier. I really don't want to practice it that much and I guess hard will help me get the main riffs down.
 
Same here, that was my very very first 100% ever. Across all difficulties and GH1 and GH2.

Well I inputted the scores I have currently on GH3 and according to Scorehero overall across all platforms and everyone who submits at Scorehero (alot of people) i'm ranked 1,019. Which is actually good considering probably the majority if not all the guitar hero players visit Scorehero.com

Downloaded songs alone (only the Velvet Revolver pack and Foo Fighters pack) I'm ranked 78 in the downloaded songs section. Which isn't fair considering Wii and PS2 can't get DLC
 
How on eath do you guys play on expert...I play on medium and cant get 100% on half the songs on GH2:P only done 10 songs on hard.
 
Practice and experience. I found easy difficult the first time i played it. But mvoing up in song tiers and difficulty you just get better. you also train your fingers at the same time to know where the buttons are. Even expert players who have never played lefty will feel like they are learning the game all over again.

First time i saw tier 7 and 8 i was thinking i wouldn't past this but i beat all the songs on expert.

My current challenges are Lou on Expert and Trough The Fire and Flame.

Practice. I started playing Guitar Hero 1 when it came out in late 2005 and Guitar Hero 2 when it came out in late 2006 and I didn't just play them until I beat the game, I continued to play for a long time.
 
Well I beat the Slipknot song finally after beating the other 3 tier 7 songs (was it just me or did that last bit on Knights of Cydonia seem out of time? I could've sworn I was in time because I have listened to that song a LOT of times but I was just missing a lot!) and then failed on the encore...I think it was on the second solo. And then I forgot to save before switching off. :|

Edit: And I'm now up to the 8th tier. Oh god Raining Blood is gonna need some practice to pass, and also I'm gonna need to practice the main riff from Cliffs of Dover. But it sounds fun to play.
 
Ya I finally beat the Slipknot song on Expert today after like about 7 tries or so (7th try for today that is). I'd been stuck on that song for over a week now, but I'm glad I got over it. Took me half hour to beat the Cult of Personality song. You need to save the star power for that long solo in the second half of the song. I actually got 4* on it so I'm pretty proud. :sly:

Raining Blood looks like it will take a lot of practice to beat. I beat Cliffs of Dover on 2nd try, albeit I came very very close to failing the song.
 
Blech. I just got a 65% on Cliffs of Dover in practice. How the hell do you play that?


EDIT: Hmm... I've lost the ability to play The Metal.... OOoop there it is.

EDIT2 : ARG WTF KNIGHTS OF CYDONIA I CAN'T PLAY IT ON MY MONO TV WTF WTF WTF EVERYTHING COMES OUT OF THE RIGHT SPEAKER WTFWTFWTF
 
Took me like 4 tires to beat FCPREMIX It's a work out, since there are like no hammer ons or pull offs, constant strumming.

So I played Through the Fire and the Flames on expert, in practice mode. I ended up hitting 67% of the notes.

I missed about 1200 notes in total.
