Guitar Hero III

Yeah I've got my 360 hooked up to my oldish Z-640s. Sounds alright :)

I've decided to drop down to hard, finish that first and then move back up onto the final tier of expert. :| I really can't be bothered practicing that Raining Blood song (which sounds like crap) so I'll just get the hard riff down and that should help a little I'm thinking.
 
That really doesn't help heh.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited.

I beat One on Expert just a few mins ago! I passed with 4 stars.

Now all I have left is Raining Blood which is insanely annoying...

If it's because of the massive amounts of two note chords coming at you like a freight train then I feel for you. All I can say is practice lol. Btw I'll have to agree Cliffs of Dover is a cool song to play but The Pretender is just fun to listen to and play. :)

Yeah I can play Jordan acoustically but not in the game for some reason :\. So who here has bought the DLC? I'm guessing Blackbird has by his last post...It just seems like it's really not worth 500 points for only 3 songs. Maybe if it was 200ish I'd get it, but you know I really can't imagine Harmonix charging about 2000 points for each album of DLC in Rock Band (about 12 tracks which would be the GH3 pricing equivalent).
 
Its worth it when you consider what it is. Its game content, seeing that they are priced the same for 360 and PSN they have a formula for how much to charge. I think there was an article as to why the song packs are priced the way they are.

I only got the Velvet Revolver pack but i plan on buying more as they come.

Also to anyone who does not have the co op bonus songs unlocked just use the code. I have no other way of unlocking them. Precision mode makes the note window like Guitar Hero 2's. Try that with Through the fire and Flame :)

No wonder I almost failed Freebird when I decided to play GH2 last night.
 
I plan on starting over hard using Precision mode but with Hyperspeed set to 3(perfect for me). The game is much harder with it. Ho PO are not easy anymore. Cult of Personality owned me trying to just ho po the main riff. This has added much replay value for me.

To beat the slipknot song, you need to get full starpower and use it on that two note "bridge" and just hit the middle one (yellow & blue) and you'll last through it.

I beat it without much star power. that bride was the easiest part for me thats where i got my longest streaks. its the 4 star money part if those nasty chords are too tough.
 
GH2 is still hard compared to GH3. Gah! What do I have to do to play with someone that plays expert! I want to play some co-op songs online with people of my skill level or better I wish there was a filter like that.
 
GH3 online mode is garbage on PS3 and just crap on Xbox 360 :). There is no way to join a game by someone you know on PSN but not Live. Co op mode is ok but if the other guy does not have a mic you may get stuck playing Closer...

As good as the game is it online mode if flawed.
 
Yeah it is but I finally found someone that plays expert earlier and he was way better than me. I picked up a few new achievements because of him too.

Dynamic Duo - 1000 note streak in co-op
Higher Than Most - 700,000 points in co-op
Half Mill' Club - 500,000 in co-op
Two Timer - 500 note streak in co-op

All from one song, The Pretender. Fun fun song on co-op guys!

I think we got 840k or something in the end. I messed up like 2 or 3 notes at most only too. :(
 
I rented this and was surprised to see "One" By Metallica and "Raining BLood" or "Reign in Blood" by slayer. Couple other good songs too but overall disappointing song list.
 
I thought the song list was great...even the bonus songs!

Raining Blood is one of my least favorite song on the game...not only because it's tough, but because it sounds bad.

Cliffs of Dover, One, Number of the Beast, When You Were Young, Evenflow, My Name is Jonas, Knights of Cydonia, Cult of Personality, and Bulls on Parade (etc.) are all great songs. And then like 7 bonus tracks are really good.
 
The Pretender has got to be my favorite. But as far as in-game ones... Any of the fun solo songs like Pride and Joy...

He hasn't played them yet so maybe he just doesn't know. The setlist is great and some of the bonus songs are very fun to play.

Boss Battles are not on PSN this week. That sux but after seeing The Devil Went Down to Georgia I'm not to upset I can't play it because its by far the hardest song in the game.
