Heartfelt congratulations to Jammy for winning ITCC 3!

But, why?

I was 0.1 seconds slower than the Mazda in the Honda, even though the Honda had a rubbish Tokyo tune that was skittish and afraid of corner entry, and the Mazda had a perfect GVE setup. I'd say that they're pretty well equal.

And, yet, everyone wants to get a faster car...?

Sparkytooth won races in the Ford. Adam won races in the Honda. Jammy and I have won races in Mazda. Furi dominated in the Volvo (with a good tune, I expect,) and gokartman qualified the BMW on pole. And, to top it all off, Sakery got an unofficial win, and officially got 2nd place in the SEAT.

I really do believe that all cars are pretty well even. Asking for me to change something that seems to be even across the board isn't the way to win, is it? :odd: I'd rather lose a fair fight than beat someone just because I have more power.

Well if you don't bother listening to people you are going to have everyone leaving, again.. My comments are 100% serious and you can't even construct a reply to them.

I agree with Furi 100%.

Gonna have to side with these guys. Mel, you even said that it doesn't make much of a difference, but helps us Honda drivers where we need help.

Testing at one track isn't good enough. When I did a couple of laps at Cape ring at 286, I was able to do a 1:21.6. My best in the race was a mid 22 I believe. So just because it doesn't make a difference at the track this week, doesn't mean it won't make a big difference the current track, doesn't mean it shouldn't be done because of that.

Sorry for double post...

Andrew this is from a host who also somewhat suffers from car trouble, you got to listen to the drivers and what they are telling you about the cars.

Not a double post, had some help :P

And I nabbed a screen shot of someone agreeing with Furi xD

Who actually believes that the Honda's "too slow?"

Anyone? Would anyone like to speak up so that the Honda drivers can start setting faster laps than were possible with the Mazda? 1:08s could be possible with the Honda @ 286 hp, given a decent tune, at GVE. I'm entirely confident.

But, if polarbear speaks for everyone who drives a Honda, and it's not just because polar's tune was, in his own words "all wrong for Cape Ring South," then we can go ahead and add more power.

And different tracks suit different cars.

Found that out the hard way...

Mel, I said it was wrong for the first two races. Furi helped me for the final race, which was the best time to gauge the pace.

And this isn't as much about the races as it is general lack of acceleration we get in the Honda.

^Yeah, no offense to others, but at Cape, me, Jammy, and Driverman seemed a good cut quicker than everyone else who raced.

I was able to keep up just fine. Problem is, CRS is about passing opportunities. Some people can get lucky and make it through the field. Others were just as fast, but got stuck in traffic.

If you get stuck in traffic, the car can't magically save you. That's your job. You're the driver. Just show up and drive.

Didn't you read above almost everyone thinks the Honda is too slow.

I don't. My little Honda is fine at most tracks. I can't get on PS3 tonight but I'm sure I could get a decent time at Grand Valley East.
Instead of moaning about the regs maybe spend some time fine-tuning the car or your lines for optimum performance? I think things are fine the way they are to be honest, feel free to disagree though.

^That was niftier moving than divebomb avoidance.

Do post your times. The honda isn't far off at grand valley east.

Alright, you know what?

You can all have 286 hp in your Hondas. Go ahead.

But, if the Hondas seem dominant, I'm returning the horsepower to where it was; 276.

No one will walk away with this championship. If Honda does too well, and a majority of races are won by Honda, it goes back to 276. If Honda locks out the top three spots in qualifying, it goes back. If I get into a Honda and find that it's half a second faster than my Mazda, it goes back.

So, rejoice, for now, but know that I still want the drivers to drive. There will not be any sandbagging/cruising to an easy victory or anything similar. You either win fair or lose fair, and playing with my specs for an advantage will not happen.

You're here to drive. You're here to race. You're not here to argue about car performance and say that the car that you willingly choose to drive is too slow. After this, we're done with specs arguments, and I'll be keeping a close eye on the Honda myself.

So if next time round Honda get 1.2.3 by half a tenth you change specs? How does sandbagging come in? We are trying to get it fair.

Your duty as a series host is to ensure the field is fare and there is performance parity.

You're here to host. You're here to get it right. You're not on current form.

We need a consistent test driver to prove that all the machines are in order.

That person must have visual proof of the car's specs and the times he put down in each of them.

I almost ran the same time in the Honda as in the Mazda.

I've spent much more time tuning the Mazda, than I have spent tuning the Honda. The Mazda should be much faster, given that my tuning setup earned me like 6 tenths in the Mazda, over the stock setup, and the Honda's tune is a generic FF tune that I haven't dialed in.

I'm trying to make it fair. I don't believe the Honda needs much help. But, if you honestly believe it does, go ahead. I'm not responsible when everyone calls the Hondas "cheap liars" or such. I'm trying to offer fair specs. If you can't get the best out of the car, and you feel like you need 10 hp more, is it possible that you should simply switch it up?

The Honda's a great car, and I'm making it known - I highly doubt that it actually needs the 10 hp increase to win. It's not a bad car. You make it out to be some horrible monster that doesn't acclerate very well... But it's not that bad.

We could just put them all down on the same track with stock suspensions, Brake and LSD settings.

That doesn't seem fair. What if polar wins in his honda by a margin due to driving skill?

Just noticed it's the 08 Civic Type R.

God that car sucks in my opinion. Don't like it at all, seems lacking to me.

You guys are making this seem like I'm the only one who says this stuff...

Mel, if you want to take some swings at me, you can do it somewhere else...

Based on my experience from last season, he'll lose about 10hp a week.

Remember that list you made?

Sorry for double post!

Constructive criticism too much for some guys.

And i'll be at Grand Valley hoping for more scraps with Jammy and Driver 👍
