Same here, first had it in 5th grade and I've had it every year since. I honestly don't know why we need to learn the same thing every year, I get it by now.

I'm hetero. I have no problems with people's orientation.

The first year is to teach you about yourself, the second year is to teach you about the opposite sex, and the next six is to teach that sex is bad, and if you do it you will catch chlamydiae and die.

The only thing I remember about sex education in school was a video we watched about some kids playing near pylons. Unless I'm getting two different school taught life lessons mixed up.

I learnt about sex and its rights and wrongs from an advanced science book I first read when I was 9. I was neither disgusted nor bothered.

On topic, I'd like to clarify in the same manner as others have that someone's orientation is irrelevant to me. I have both gay and bisexual friends and it's just a non-issue.

I myself am a heterosexual, I have no problem with homosexual people. All I wonder is why some homosexuals go the whole "Gok Wan" on the situation. Why? I don't see the point...

Same.
I find it odd when people do their hair and whatever to draw attention to the fact they are gay. But I have nothing against people who are gay even openly gay its just I dont go doing things to boast about me being straight.

Don't know what school you went to but at our school we watched a video about how you get STI's and how the sperm reaches the egg.

I'm Heterosexual, although I have a few openly gay and bisexual friends. I mean, we joke around along with my other friends like normal, so I can't really say I have problems with any of them.

I've only encountered one person who could be compared to Gok Wan in terms of his mannerisms when I was at college, but I never really had any problems with him either.

Jai, you're in your 8th or 9th year in school. When I started learning about Sex Ed I was in 5th year!

I had it during my last year of Primary school (year 6 in the UK). I think our year was the first to be taught about it in our school as well.

I can't lie, I've pondered if I'm interested in more than just females, and I might be. But, with that being said, I try to suppress that side of me. Though I probably shouldn't. I guess it's just that I don't want the risk of being made fun of.

You could like both. If that's what you think, there's no reason to not explore it, if you think there could be substance behind it.

I feel the same.

You do Spongey? And Mazdaprice, I would explore it right now, but in this small town, full of intolerant Christians. It's scary.

I found this thread interesting after having a read through. And yes I am attracted to the same sex.

You hump petrol?

I can't even imagine what that would feel like, you'd put crabs to shame!

Honestly, I really don't have time for all this..

To put it simply: I don't know what Heterosexual means, I will look it up when I do have the time - You ask about how the Government could be involved? They essentially fund the schools, and establish the curriculum.. Parents, well, they basically just answer your questions..

Then why does it seem that the majority of other UK students know what heterosexual means?

PS: If you have a Mac, there is no excuse that you can't access a dictionary, because there is a super handy-dandy one on the dock. :D

I am 100% hetro but usually mistaken at my uni (in the country, and I am a city kid) as homo because of my dress sence (guys at uni are usually country bogans), my ability to talk, my sense of humour and weirdly, my weird British accent (born in Australia so somehow got that one off the parentals..). I am not thought of as gay when I hang out with people in the city. I have been told by more than one girl that I am either gay or taken, and I don't really know how to take that.

On another note, I would like to think myself completely at ease and very understanding of homosexuals. On rare occasions, moves have been made on me by guys and I have resisted (as I am not gay), resulting in me being labeled homophobic. I am fine with homosexuality and I'm all for gay rights and respect, but not so when it involves me. Does this make me homophobic or are they just bitter?

They would just be bitter. I have no idea how you can be homophobic because you rejected a guy. That's like being called racist because "she's not your type."
Regarding the Kinsey Scale that Noob was talking about, I think I'm a 4/5 on it. I wonder if one of the mods could create a new, blank poll with the Kinsey Scale instead of Hetero/Homo/Super 👍

Why was Asexual missed from the poll?

I'm a heterosexual man myself, unless my wife turns out to be a ladyboy and I haven't know for the last few years .

I have a friend who is mecasexual. He loves neither men nor woman, just motorcycles. True story.

Well, just to stress at this moment I'm unsure, but I think I might be gay/bi. Annoyingly, there's no way to tell, unless I just try making out with a girl and then seeing if I like it. *sigh*

I didn't like the first few times I got with girls when I was a young teen. They kissed like fish and I was expecting to get really excited but didn't. The first time I got really into girls was around 14 when I kissed a girl and was sold on the females from then on. Her and I are still best friends over a decade later!

You'll just know if you are one or the other. Having thoughts / doubts about the same sex happens to most people, that's how we realise if we like or dislike that species sexually.

I personally I think men are revolting. Not that I wouldn't say a handsome man is, but the thought of myself being intimate with someone who isn't female makes my stomach turn. That's how i know I'm not gay. I imagine for gay guys or girls they feel the opposite.
