The two door integra has a hatch. The SRT4 has a trunk. It may not be what we think of when we say hot hatch. But technically it's a hatch. Of course, by that token, so is a Toyota Supra and F Body Camaro. I don't care if he uses it, but it's certainly not up to me.

I would have to say no, unless it fits to all the regulations, but it's really up to Conza. I'm not trying to be unfair but I was thinking of cars such as Civics, Golfs, Focus' etc. You'll have to check up with him though. So does the 2012 Camaro count?

On that note, Mk1 Mini's, Mk1 Beetle's, Subaru 360's, Mk1 Fiat 500's are to be disallowed, as they are really saloons?

We really have some clearing up to do before Season 2.

Yeah i know that it's all FF. Just ask Conza, and he'll tell you. Before series 2 starts, we need to discuss what a hatch really is.

Ok, I think there are many FFs that don't work at all, like the Peugeot 406 / Coupe, that clearly isn't a hatch. Neither is any car that's started life as a hatch, and they've made it a saloon.

The basic rule of thumb at this point, is does the rear glass panel open with the boot, that's my unscientific philosophy, eg. An Alfa Romeo Brera is a 4WD hatch, just (a bad one), because that tiny piece if glass opens.

So just because it's an FF doesn't make it a hatch.

As for the Integra, I remain sceptical, but refer everyone to this picture to help me make my judgement, and ask, does this look like the glass moves with the boot?

Edit: After finding these images on local Integras' for sale, I've decided it is indeed a hatchback, even if a slightly smaller, sleeker one ;)

yeah that focus is a great car, I think I like the 4WD version a tad more, but you were keeping up with me and then some!

Yeah. The video game version, in my opinion, is actually kind of weak. I had one (for real). It's got more torque and handles a tad better than the GT5 version. But I'm not complaining, I'm just glad it's in the game and I found a series that I can use it in. I'm still well behind you on Trial Mountain though and I've had a real rough time getting it around the hairpins on Eiger.

In my defence... And I will change the car if I have too. I ran I few laps in it last night with conza and I am a few seconds of the pace on Laguna secs.

Yeah there are grey areas in the rules but. For those of us lucky enough to find a car that matches the bill I ask why not?

To summarize I don't think the Integra has an unfair advantage over other cars?

And if I may make a suggestion for future events...

A way around this uncertainty would be to list all cars available for the event (np grey areas then)
Or perhaps list more specifics on things like engine size or something. For example if we said max 1.8 ltr my car wouldn't be allowed. We could all race in small "hot hatches' like the 500 and Clio ds5 (top gear)

What time tonight for the practice then?

@Conza do we join your room for the race like i did last night? or is something different going to happen.

did you manage to practice all tracks last night? and therefore are we going to practice trail mountain tonight? (that is the first race right?)

RE: Integra, it's a hatch, so it's ok, but I agree for the next series I'll tighten what can be allowed

Sweet, looks pretty easy to me, tonight/morning, (12/13), and Friday night the 15th (24 hours before the race)

Just so we're all up to speed, they'll be a practice tonight, usual time, the tracks well be Laguna & Eiger first, then the other the from shortest to longest.

Just FYI, since we all have different amounts of free time, I'll update this soon with my lounge settings, so if you want to practice individually, you can do these tracks under exactly the same conditions.

EDIT: Here are the settings I'm using

I own several Camaros and the title lists the car as "2DR HB" 👍

I got my new wheel, but it feel completely different than theold one so I think Im gonna have to relearn some. Can anyone give me an idea of the times being run on the tracks so I can see if I will be competitive at thsi point?

Why don't you join us tonight and we can all compare times. i'm sure i am off the pace too.

I just want to clarify, the older Dodge SRT4s are not hatches (afaict), the newer ones look to be, very square at the back.

@1stlsx What were your two wheels old and new? I found upgrading from a DFGT to a G27 almost seemless, don't think I lost or gained any time (might be faster now). My method was DS3 time, Wheel time, repeat, and eventually the wheel was too fast for my DS3 and I thought 'job done'. So that was how I transitioned from DS3 to DFGT. DFGT to G27, unplug, plug in (in a nutshell).

Also Camaros... well nothing before 1982 would be, nor after 1992, again, afaict, just the third generation. It seems to go Coupe, Coupe, Hatch, Coupe, Coupe (, Coupe).

I had a DFT but $$$ is tight right now so I picke dup a DF PRO for $25 to tide me over til I can get a fanatec :)

82-02 are all considered hatchbacks, unless its a convertible :)

Im ll give it a go. Will the room be open about 5-6PM CST US? isnt that kinda late for most of you guys?

Hmm, so you broke the G27 I may assume? Can understand you wanting an alternative, my 2 cents is go all out and get the T500RS, if you can get it under $500, its better than any Fanatec that isn't more than double price. And even then, I'd still want the Thrustmaster.

This perplexed me, but, after looking for a whole, 5 minutes on eBay, I found out why. It's the sorry-est excuse for one, but have a look, the glass moves!

Umm, 3:30pm US EST... 2:30pm US Central?

Yea I wont be home tonight until between 5 and 6 CST okay. Thanks for the info.

I agree its a sorry excuse for a hatchback, but thats how the classify it!

I will be getting the CSR wheel as I play Forza a ton too

We've been open for 45 minute, just us two, chilling here

Were at Laguna atm, well probably keep going till, 9ish, depends if more people come for practice

Sorry for not coming. I wasn't sure if it was on today, but I'll be on on Friday.

Another excellent practice session, and what a session indeed!

For those just joining us, there'll be one more before we begin racing round 1, I'm going to make that session the deadline, if you haven't joined us before then, I think you'll have to sit out race 1 of series 1.

Round 2 - Eiger Nordwand Short Track
We started slightly late, which was ok because no one was there at 7:10AM except for me and HusamOne, who I believe set the lap record here, but it was so early I didn't think to snapshot it, unfortunately, so we'll have to wait to hear from him.

So my personal best is a 1:11.463 I have a feeling it was still a 1:11.XXX time, but between there and a 1:11.2XX, so if you're in the 1:11s comfortably, you should be up to race pace. This is Round 2, so keep in mind its coming up soon.

Round 4 - Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway
We transitioned to Laguna, I think around 8am, we were joined by GOINDYCOLTS, then Spatt at about 8:20am. While my PB here was a 1:37.5-ish the new lap record is 1:36.951 set by GOINDYCOLTS in his magic ST170 - Good Work!

Round 1 - Trial Mountain Circuit
We started off slowly, and eventually I met my 'to the 1000th' record of 1:38.784, which I was astounded by. But my victory was short lived when GOINDYCOLTS set a blistering .66X (If you remembered exactly I'll update)!

I was naturally impressed and annoyed, thinking my time was crash hot. He left, and I kid you not, and I video recorded it because it was so unbelievable, I had just finished tweaking my top gear when he left, I did two more laps, and set the new record at 1:36.574. The video shows me recording the time, exiting to settings where I'm at 450PP, 234BHP and 1100kgs on my Mini Cooper S '05.

I think I lost 2 tenths somewhere in there, too, did one more lap and nearly met that time again, so hope we're all around the 1:37s come race day on Saturday.

Once again, not all tracks were tested, many of us didn't show up, however, thanks to the settings I've posted above, we can all practice on any of the five tracks, on our own lounges at our own convenience, and be assured we're operating in exactly the same environment. If when setting up your lounge my picture leaves out a setting, or you're unsure, just post here, quoting my settngs post would be helpful, and I'll endeavour to add the needed settting.

Just to re-itterate, there will be 1 more practice 24 hours before the race (Friday 15th), I don't want to make it a qualifying, I'd like to keep all of that for the event itself.

Remember for the race, be 5 minutes before start time of 3:30pm US EST / 8:30pm UK / 7:30am AEDT, room will be open for 30 minute prior, if we can keep the interval, qualifying and race sessions all within a total of 45 minutes to a maximum of 1 hour, I think that'll be a good result.
