Ah, that thing. I have another one waiting for me to tear it appart.

Also, yes on the blue. It can be a problem though, lately I've been painting everything blue :/

That is an option too. Frankly I haven't done anything to it since the last picture with the wheels, but that one is going to be a very straight-up project so that doesn't worry me as much as the Nissan Hardbody, which is a freaking puzzle torn appart and very difficult to put back together :/ but it will liiiiiiiive.

Slight update on the Firebird:

Managed to squeeze a couple coats of primer on it today. There's a lot of little bits/imperfections i'm unhappy about, but as a whole i'm quite pleased with it thus far. I need to add some side exit exhausts then pay some attention to the interior.

Wet sanded the MX-5 the best i could.. but it's still real orange peely. Need to add a final coat of blue (sanded away to the primer in some spots) then hit it with a shed load of clear, in hope that it will lessen the rough texture. The blue itself is actually quite dark (seemed to get darker as it dried), but i'm still happy with it. Very tempted to paint the roll bar and wheel spokes orange.

Those are both spectacular, the mx5 is a work of art, please tell me your painting the inserts/spokes black, and a black/carbon hood would work a treat. What am I saying? What ever you do it will be awesome.

@Emmcee Thanks man 👍

The thought had crossed my mind about doing a black bonnet, but i think i'll keep it as is. I also played around with the idea of doing popped up lights, but the time to incorporate that has long since gone. With regards to the spokes, i was planning on doing them gold but then thought orange would make them pop more (matching roll bar). I'm still not fully decided but i think the contrast of a brighter colour would complement the blue.

I'd leave the colors as are... maybe paint the spokes of the wheels in bronze, but the car looks absolutely dinamyte in that color, I love it. The fenders are seamless. Awesome.

As for the Trans Am, I think the only thing that bothers me is that the edges of the fenders is just too thick.

I'm not that confident that i can make them much thinner without jeopardising the strength.. I will however, round off the edge/lip of the arches, but that'll be the best that i can do. 👍

No way I think they looks bang on, I have to agree with the wheels to, orange would work a treat but bronze would match the cage.

Thanks man. 👍
Yeah, i was really keen on an orange roll cage with matching wheel spokes, simply because of the striking contrast it would create with the blue. But since i plan on doing the indicators orange, having the spokes match the brass of the roll cage it will add to the colour spectrum, and hopefully give the impression of a more detailed custom (in theory).
Yes, that oughta make them look a lot better. Also, change the wheels.
Great. 👍
As for changing the wheels?.. Unlikely. I just don't have other (matching) wheels that would fit. The Torqs are the same size in diameter but the rear tyre is from a Wat/M-lite. The only other wheels that i have that would fit are THRR's (same size wheels with bigger rear rubber) and i think they'd look so out of place.

I was thinking of painting the car yellow, maybe i should paint the Torqs too.

Thinking of painting the seats on the MX-5 matte red. Thoughts?

My rx7,need to touch up the hand made intercooler abit better but this is it anyway

Although the photos could still see improvements, the plate number is clear enough to see. :embarrassed: Did you print that out yourself?

@Nessy: yeah I think it looks quite tough but it's still not as good as your work.

@AOS: no I didnt, it actually came of a need for speed die cast, I just cut them to fit.

Thanks for the kind comments.

This photo definitely needs improvement:

As can be seen, there's still plenty to do, but i'm really pleased with the form. Although it's not exact (slightly exaggerated in parts), i think it has the feel of a CR-X Del sol.

[EDIT]

Nonsense. Just because there's no putty work, doesn't mean it's not on par (or even surpasses), with what i do.

My painting capabilities are awful.

Yup lol. Nessy's paint skills are legendary.
I haven't been able to do much lately due to moving. I primered a project today. It's not working out as nice as I hoped. Body wasn't as smooth as I expected. Oh well. Progress is progressing

Thanks for the kind and incouraging words, but that crx is a serious work of art, looks incredible. Any thoughts on the colour yet? IMO a nice Ferrari red would look sweet on that.

I really dig that Porsche! 👍 I never thought about painting the lip of any of my vehicles I don't think. It looks a lot better with the body details and you did good with the interior detailing. 👍

LOL! Why not paint your own? I know it's not your normal process, but it would be amazing

Nah. I don't think you've seen my box full of other cars that I haven't even started on. It is no exaggeration when I say there are hundreds of unstarted project that have sat in the backlog for years.

I'm looking to see if I can finally start one of my 1:24 models this weekend.

Also, the primary reason is that I've made the 934 collection a detailed-exclusive. Meaning each mainline release I get will receiving detailing. There won't be a separate collection of unmodified 934s. All I'm missing now is the black one.

Yea, true. Did you know he released the black one because he wanted the details, but couldn't do them all. And the black covers the details, since they are black .
