Whaaaaat. You could totally make one piece and just wrap it around the corner.

Yeah, but he needs to create them. He doesn't have a reference picture for the entire tailamp, he has one of how it looks directly from behind, and one of how it looks from the side of the car, both of which lack one another. Combine the two of them and voilá, a single-piece taillamp out of two pics of it.

I WONNNNNNNNN :dopey:

The Chaparral Camaro took top honors in the contest. I also took second with, surprisingly, a quick wheelswap Sub-lime 69 Charger. Ahmed won third place with a bad-ass Superbird. We swept the freaking place (:

Pics to follow in the next few days, when I recharge a bit, this day has been exhausting as all hell. Typing this is the first few moments I've sat in a chair since 10:30 am.

Congrats on winning the contest!!! :D:tup:

Where's the pics?!

Anyone remember this one?

I remember that GT2 RS. You beat me to it!

Looks good, but to make it similar to the RS, you need to display the 911 GT2 RS on the side of the car, the rear fenders are carbon fiber (which will be black paint or even a black marker) and a small RS beside the GT2 badge on the rear. Like the pic here for reference.....

And did you use a GT3 RS's interior inside the GT2 RS? The one I'm building soon is going to have the GT3's interior inside the other cast.

I use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. What I did was I took pictures of the car then scaled them in photoshop based on measurements i made. Then used illustrator to create the decal designs.

Good idea. And welcome to the thread 👍.

The Cadmium red looks great R1600. 👍

[EDIT]

The Lamley customs for this week are up: http://lamleydlm.blogspot.co.uk/
Some awesome customs in there this week, i think i may steal the display case idea on that BB down the bottom, would be a nice way to display my Z (when i eventually finish it ).

I think the Tomica FT86's i see getting the custom treatment, would look so much better with the top edges of the opening doors painted, they would flow so much better with the rear quarter window.
With the way they are... they remind me of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

I agree, the red paint job is nice. And those customs are nice!👍

There's alot of talented people out there who custom scales, seriously. 👍

R1600Turbo

Nice, good luck on the V8 Super EcoBoost Falcon. 👍

Just printed my test sheet. Success. 👍

Although the black ink in the printer is about done for. So will have to wait on my final print onto the decal paper. And I assume I can just use standard clear coat on the decals? Cano?

Edit:

Stopped at Big Lots on the way home and bought another blue RX-7 so I could steal the black interior from it. Car is still really sticky, so I'm just going to let it sit for a while until it's ready for decals.

Yes, standard clear, coat it lightly and evenly and let it sit perfectly horizontal between each coat. Three or Four coats should prevent the ink from "crackling" when cutting, altough yours is an injection printer, I don't know if the same problem can appear in that type of print-out (happened to me twice already with the lasser impression -_-). When you cut them out, be extremely cautious.

Surprising how this customizing hobby has evolved, 2 years ago it was out of this world thinking on making custom decals, now lots of people are working on them. Great projects I can’t wait to see them finished.

Cano:
Where are the winners pics??

Hahaha what the hecking heck are you doing here? Obviously the club page doesn't work, else you don't even remember of logging in over here

and don't start on me on the winners pics, you won something too, where is the Supervvvvird?

This is probly an idiotic question, but im curious, would this work on Hot Wheels bodies or maybe even to rechrome there wheels? And yes im clearly aware it's "for glass" but i still wonder if it would work with metal or plastic like what most Hot Wheels are made of.
EDIT: Or a metal base?

Seems plausible, try it and let us know. I'll for sure import some if it works.

This stuff is like $8 in a rather small can at my local Wal Mart. Frankly im hoping somebody will test it and see if it works. I probly am not going to get it unless i know it works.

I doubt it. I really doubt it. See if you noticed how often they emphasized that it should go on the back of glass, that would likely mean it has no shine to it.

The most you'd probably get is a partial reflection.

You can try if you're dying to know though.

I have something similar, but I only looked at the cap alone which in the case of chrome is often times not accurate. I looked at it again and didn't mention anything that remotely suggests an absolute reflection. Read all the labels as closely as you can when it comes to metallics or "chromes".

Also, I'm going to start documenting all my customizing in my recently made blog. It's much better to give my work a context in which readers can browse through rather than going to forums and going to pages or visiting a gallery with no author inputs.

Graphics and layout I'll be working on eventually once I get around to coming up with a universal theme.

Muscle Machines JGTC car. Not sure which one, had them forever. The disc brakes are pretty cool, has a tab that sticks into the axle slot so that they don't move with the wheels. 👍

Edit: Here... (I took the tires from a Hot Wheels)

Cool. And amazing that they fit the Miata, but as you said, really big wheelwells. Ironically, I recently found one that belonged to my children self and is... er, how to say it? Completely played with  it shall go into restoration soon, I'll try to maake a Time Attack car out of it.

The only way I see being able to slam it with the smaller wheels, is to hand make or grab some wide fenders from the RX-7 or Celica and make them fit. I'm too lazy to make that work.

Plus with the body separating right in the middle of the car, not sure if that would work...

Awesome wheels, but there's gotta be a way around the big wheel-well.....

Cano: You asked for the 512M in the trade. You gonna rip it apart for the wheels, huh?
