How do you intend to play GT5? (HDTV-SDTV/PC monitor/wheel/controller)

I still haven't chosen the right TV set for GT5 (and DVD/BD movies and PC occasionally). Plasma is excluded because of my sensitivity on phosphor trailing. Sharp LC-40LX810E is said to have extremely low input lag, but I'm afraid of backlight clouding and pixel matrix seemed pretty visible to me when I observed the set in the store (and honestly, I dislike it's design too, but it's not a serious issue). Sharp LC-40LE705EV would be a great choice either if it wouldn't have too hight response time. Panasonic TX-L37D28 was my next object of interest, but it received quite negative review. Any suggestion where should I invest my monthly wage?

PS: Thanks goes to Sony and PD who generously gave me more time to think about my investment. And now, guys, yes, you're allowed to kill me. :D

Wheel stand pro are doing great business. I ordered my WSP for G27 and payed it on a certain moment. Because of the many orders they received it took them four days to ship.

Dang, you guys are loaded!
I'll play mostly with the DS3 on 42" LCD HDTV but if I can, I'll try to play sometimes with my really old logitech force feedback wheel.

Since everyone's posting up their rig...I might as well too.

I'm still in university so it's nothing too fancy, but kinda proud that I paid for everything with my own money. 👍 Anyways, specs: 40" Samsung LCD, 5.1 Surround with ghetto setup (gotta love the side speakers placement!), DFGT on a semi-finished rig that I might never finish, and a camping chair :ouch:. Everything in the unfinished basement. Anywho, I put an old A/V receiver under the pedals in case anyone wonders what that black thing is.

Anyways, I can't wait for 24hour endurance races. I was thinking of turning off all the lights in the basement when doing it so when it's dark outside, my whole basement would be pitch black except for my screen. :scared: Probably get spooked out as there's a whole lot of space behind me, but hey, adds to the realism! 👍

DualShock 3 on a 32" Dynex (720p/1080i). I would like to get a wheel, probably an old DF since my GF is already onto me for investing a bit much into GT5.

Yes it's the same with everyone switching from controller to wheel. I was terrible at Forza 2 starting out with the controller and wheeing towards the wheel. I spun out and had barely any control for the first few days. Give it time and your lap times will match if not exceed your controller times.

Bought GT5:P from the PS Store last week, and after finally DLing the update (it kept failing, until one time it didn't) I started tooling around with it with the PS controller. Fun, but loose.

The next day I set up the DFGT, and tried again. Chaos ensued....lots of spin outs, and learning that when it says 63 mph for a corner it doesn't mean 73, or 68, or even 65.

But within a few hours with the wheel I achieved a couple of victories I considered tough (Bronze with the Cappucino race, and another after playing with the ABS, ACM, TCS, etc for a win on the reverse Alpine with the Golf), and it felt like an accomplishment. Some of the C Series Events are dead easy, but the two above weren't (to me), and I felt the wheel helped, not hindered.

I found this perfect little table in a nearby charity shop and bought it straight away for £15, it's near perfect for my steering wheel needs. I keep my TV on a lower stand right next to it so it's an easy process to get racing and back again and pretty unobtrusive.

By the way the table had a sticker on the bottom saying it was a "Modus" from Ikea in case anyone's interested in finding it (if they still make this, I dunno).

By the way does anyone know of any particular chairs from IKEA or somewhere else like Argos (in the UK) which would be suitable, my current one is the only thing I've got to hand in my flat and is obviously pretty uncomfortable, even when I put pillows over the back rest and seat, lol. Something a bit 'buckety' in shape, an average chair height, not too low, and ideally with a higher back rest so i can properly sit nestled in it. Oh and not anything more than maybe £30??? :P

Heh. Ya its a holder so the water does not get on the table..... I need one down by the tv remote. I will put one in soon. I also am wanting to get a nice 42-47 led tv.

Porsche turbo wheel + 19" LCD (hopefully i can get a 23" 1080p before GT5).

Most likely i'm gonna set this up at my computer desk, just because it's much easier for mounting the wheel, and easier too for switching between pc and ps3. I expect when GT5 drops my ps3 will be used exclusively for that for awhile.

DFGT with a Tevion 24"

Parents just bought a Samsung 46" 3D HD Tv a few days ago, so hopefully over christmas I'll get to spend some time on that :)
