Keep these ideas coming! I love the idea of a Pick-up rally, maybe even a 1 make (ford Lightning or tacoma) and set the HP/Weight as stated.

I'm also thinking about a how low can you go race, with 100HP as the cap!

Haha, been playing with the Toyota X-runner because it's the lightest and can still hit 650hp. Full weight reduction and then rear ballast up to 1500kg makes perfect 50/50 weight distro.

No aids, it's a bit of a handful... Focusing on tracks that are way too short to allow te 650 to stretch it's legs like the W trail, Arena... I was thinking of doing an X-Runner-X (X-Runner Cross? :D) race... It's not ideal, but setting the ride height all the way up, and suspension super soft makes it a beautiful sight to behold and crazy to handle... Completely open diff... Front toe out, rear waaaay toe in...

Try it!

Howdy ho *doc, I was hoping to get back into some HST if there's room. Now that things are starting to normalize ie: my wife's taking the proper meds

Hope you and yours are doing well I'll see you Thursday.

FYI.. Time Warner is coming at 3:00 PST on Thursday to replace the faulty router they gave me last week.
Which gives me two hours to get everything squared away with that, but I'm not letting that go until I'm confident everything is working properly this time. Most likely I'll be good to go by race time.
That bogus router may have contributed to some of the problems last week.

Anyway this is the reason for wanting to try fiber out as follows:

I hope to have a better connection going on Thursday..

I use speed test often as well (even on my phones) and like the results. Why does yours test a server clear across the country though? Normally when I test, I choose a server from the same provider in a closer proximity. Should I be trying one further away?

For an accurate depiction of how you'd connect to someone across the country, you'd want to run a test across the country. Connecting to a local server is nice if you want to know the top limits of your bandwidth, but testing across the country is better for getting a rough idea how your connection is in a room full of people around the country (or world).

That makes sense.. I'll have to try some other areas tonight.

Yeah, for what we do you should test as far as possible.
I got a slightly poorer result that day testing close too..

I would like to join the High Speed Touring Track Days
PSN:gears1000

This is a fun group here, I think you'll enjoy it. Also, your joining just in time for the classics combo this Thursday.
On page 1 of this thread, scroll down to June, and it's the lower half of this month with the car list.
Just added is the Mercedes SL 300 '54 and BMW 507 '57.

I got a question.
Can you put ballast and limit the engine HP?
Yep. I encourage as little engine limiting as possible, but as long as you meet the pp limit, your fine. Everyone's got their own style of tuning, that is what makes this group so great!

Just to be sure everyone knows, these two have been added to this weeks combo.

So the original 16 is now 18, and a better balance of Euro cars now..👍

Yeah, if you were thinking of the Gordini, I really recommend adding some weight to the ballast and then move it all the way forward.. Because it's so rear heavy... And then more weight means you can add more power, and both tracks are more or less momentum tracks... Try to test as many cars as you can, or the ones you like to see how they suit you... I mean.. I'm not saying try every car cause theres 18 of em, but two or three if possible...

I tought it would be minis this thusdays
We change theme every 2 weeks, the full schedule is on the 1st page if the thread, and current events are updated as I add the to the schedule.

@euclid58 , what did we decide on the e type, was that a no?

Yeah, no E-Type '61 because it was in the British Invasion, it'd be a tune down, and I'm afraid it would also be too dominant if it was included. So for those reasons, that's a no go.

OK everyone, post #2 and Post #5 on Page 1 are updated to reflect whats happening this week and next week.

Following this event will be GTRacers TransAm Event, and then some of the ideas above. I'll work up the next few weeks over the weekend.

See everyone thursday!

Just putting it out there that I am defiantly "Team Europe" more specifically Team Germany! Many great cars too choose from this event! See you guys Thursday!

Ho.ly.crap.

So, in a most interesting and eventful week, I've officially kicked my inlaws out of my house. This is a good thing... However, this now puts HST's 8pm starts at nearly unachievable for me, especially during my wife's softball season. So, bittersweet victory I suppose.
