oh.. I got your point mate. :)
Yes indeed, it's sometimes kinda annoying that the slider just seems not wanting to stop at the value we want.

Would you mind telling me how you setup your S2000? I found it really oversteery when exiting corners. Its back end kicks out even at low speed (6x km/h). I'm currently having Stage 1 tyres and Stage 1 brakes on, with weight reduction Stage 1. :) I'd like to save $$ for buying another car later, so I prefer upgrading my cars when Stage 2 or 3 parts are unlocked.

My setup changes every track I go... thats why I was complaining about not being able to tune while in a race... You have to exit, go to cars, open tuning, blah blah blah ... To much and will get boring like this soon... But I want to try and find some all-round settings, but its quite hard up til now... I'll post my settings for you when I get home in a bit 👍 I am at stage 2 already though... and have all the other junk on it too already... :P just waiting for stage 3 to open so I can go buck wild

Haven't tried it yet, daughter running around right now. ;)

 I hope to hear from you when you do... 👍

just one more day... So jealous about the fact that the US gets all the games that I want early :(

EU release date was 17th, but here in NL the guy in the shop confirmed that they were officially allowed to sell it today. It's worth checking, I'm glad I did because my Shift PC DVD is busy installing now :)

Glad to hear that mate. 👍
Me too, kinda of frustrating with my lightly tuned stock S2000.. oversteering ALL THE TIME.

Tire pressure is a good one to mess around with while youre at stage one... it'll help out with the oversteer... make the rear pressure a bit lower for a bigger contact patch and more grip ;)

-edit: Oh yeah and I think you can adjust toe as well right? also handy for that nasty oversteer

I see. Thanks in advance.
I was addicted to testing out those monster machines on the Ring in quick race, so I didn't get enough stars to unlock parts.

Okay, I'll definitely try that tomorrow. Thanks for the quick reply! ;)👍

Hi guys!

Because your promising words about this title, I gave to my local GameStop my FC and Dirt... tomorrow I can pick my copy with 19,90... and also get some 'bonus BMW'

Anybody know, are PC and PS3 players separated to different servers?

Oh, regarding the bonus code for unlocking the BMW M3 GT2 race car, I've got a question. I got the code from the game store when I bought the game, but the code turned out to be unlocking another invitational event in the career mode. Anyone is the same as me? :dunce:

ps: The version I bought is an Asian English version. (Just wanna see if anyone with different versions got the same problem.)

This game feels awesome with a G25. I can't stop driving, I always want another lap, absolutely loving it. Once you get the G25 settings right its great. I was mucking around with all the different settings for about 2 hours testing different sensitivities etc and am happy with them now. The first invitational event you get with the lotus at nurburgring feels fantastic. I kept getting shift lock on downshifts so I needed to heel and toe. I replayed that race about 4 times before I moved on because it felt so good lol.

Sounds so familiar to me right now, I'm only stuck at the inventational trying to get all three stars on the highest difficult level. Need to find 1.2 seconds to get all three  Only irritating thing sofar is the lag in the steering wheel annimation in the cockpit view :(

I let Fraps run with one of those attemps, not my best lap but it gives you an idea about me struggling to find some time :P

Mine was stuck on 98% installing for at least 10minutes.
That happened to me too. I initially thought something was wrong with the game. :ill:

Same here. The game installation was stuck at 98% for like 5 minutes and I looked at the HDD indicator lights to see if it's frozen or not (if it's frozen, the light won't be on/flashing 👍). Then another 5 minutes for 99% and then completed.

I'm going to assume the XBOX, PC and PS3 servers are all different and won't cross over, unless EA has done something to unify it, though I could see some massive technical hurdles to get all three platforms racing one another.

They might all hit the same servers but I'm going to doubt they can cross connect in online racing?

Anyone have more detail? I've been wondering this as I know someone with a XBOX and Shift who would love to race me.

I just had my first session with NFSS and I must say, every time they leave the cop dodging drama garbage (that ruins NFS imo) they make a great game. This, like Underground I is just plain fun. The realism is believable and, like I predicted, is very similar to Grid (which is also a great game).

I would categorize these types of games with arcade environment with realistic handling a 'hybrid' racing game. I finished tier 1 and went easy on the AI at Medium because there is only TWO LAPS per race and since I have never driven on them before there was no way I could win every race. So I'm hoping tier 2 has 5 laps and once I get used to the new tracks I can bump the AI to hard and have at it :) Very impressed so far!

A question I am wondering about is: is Shift region-locked?
i.e. PAL/NTSC like GT5P? I didn't notice an NTSC designation on
my copy, and I noticed once I signed up for the EA Online membership,
I could see some of my PAL friends such as JvM, and Mad94d who are in PAL regions, so I am hoping that PAL/NTSC will be able to race each other online.

Has anybody from an NTSC region been able to race their PAL friends so far?
I hope we don't have to buy a separate disk like we did for GT5P if we want to race friends from different regions. I'll do it, but it would be nice to spare the 60 bucks :)

I tried NFS Shift for PC at a friend's house and was less than impressed. The graphics and sounds are good, but the handling definitely does not feel like a sim on pro-mode and it doesn't even feel as good as Forza 2. I'm going to save my money for Forza 3. Also, the loading times are ridiculous.

Cross MS and Sony platform gaming will never happen. You can play Xbox to PC, using Windows Live. Also, they could use the same servers, doesn't mean they'd connect to each other though.

I knew about the Windows Live point, but was wondering if EA bridged the gap. It's something I've never considered given the massive amount of cross platofrm EA titles.

Sony and Microsoft are exactly the closest of companies out there but there are much vaster differences between others.

I asked this earlier and didn't get a response:

Is there a way to turn the background music off on replays? I know the cars sound awesome so it would be nice to hear them in all their glory without music during replays.

Thank you!

EA wouldn't be able to do anything about it, it'd be up to MS and Sony to set up systems which would enable online gaming between their systems. They are both fierce competitors and I don't see any collaboration between the two in the future.

Someone made a psot earlier about online AI cars.
Just to verify, you can have AI controlled cars in unranked created races. You just set the minimum number of cars to 8 and the game will fill the remaining spots you don't use with AI cars.

I was wondering what skill level the online ranked games are set at, or if it goes by your gameplay settings. I'm on pro with only abs on, and that's how my car seemed to be, but I couldn't tell if that's what everyone else's cars were set at or not. All 4 of my opponents had themselves out of the race by the 4th or 5th turn on laguna.

Cheers for the online AI awnser 👍

good video, you can make time up by firstly tidying up the first turn, you missed the apex because you were corecting the oversteer induced by heavy braking, 3rd corner you can carry more speed through it for the straight afterwards. not sure what happened on the 5-6 corners, but it all went pete tong and lost you a bit of time and speed down the start finish straight. Good lap though. I'm being picky just to help you find that 1.2 seconds LOL:tup: Just to reiterate I'M BEING PICKY, the lap was good.

Cheers for the online AI awnser 👍

I haven't been able to try it yet though, because I have no friends who have the game yet to invite, and in unranked games no one is joining my games. The game does explain the feature though so I imagine it should work, you can also set the AI difficulty setting

Anyone else getting this glitch?

Why is there a need to setup an EA account? Now I have to jump through ropes to change my modem password! What do people do that dont have a PC? Sometimes games are so over complicated and it makes me mad.

The game itself has been ok, so far. Except for the fact my wheel wasnt lined up right, and going down some straights the FFB seemed backwards! Another stupid thing I found really stupid is how the wheel has no FFB at the beginning of the races. 2 times the lights went green and I did a donut because my wheel was turned a full rotation!
