ICGTC Season 4 - Ended

erik can you put takata nsx for me ? at least i have a car in front of my name so everyone knows what I'm going to drive the last 4 races..

I will ProPersian, I already reserved it in the available car list. But I change the graphics later.

About the car change we had two GT-R drop outs and its no secret its a popular car and I found it better that we give the cars to already exiting members of this championship than give it to a new guy that will be a reserve driver.

We also lost two ENEOS drivers and if I remember correctly that was the wish Netherdragon had in the first place. Well if you want, why not change now? Because I told Lapi he could have the Raybrig he wanted in the first place in a PM, he read it, but didn't answer.

The thing started with Arkano answering to marco he wouldn't mind him to be allowed to change car. I agreed with Arkano (obviously on the background I described over)
And he was all for it. So the decision wasn't made by me alone, but by Arkano and me. But as always I'm left alone to answer for it.
I haven't seen any one going berserk over the decision and I already seen Marco practice with the Motul so going back on the decisions now will be unfair to him.
I really don't want to make a regime where I take all the decisions, but let as many as possible be part of the decision, but when it comes to the activity from someone here, I have to stand up and take the decision because waiting 24 hours to 3 days for everyone's answer is just to slow.

I know this seems a bit odd and maybe out of place and maybe it wasn't smart from my point to bend the rules and I'm sorry. I guess I'm getting tired of running this championship and my strict regime broke.

Erik we all know how much effort you put in to running this thing so there's no need to remind us. :sly:
I am ok with Marco changing cars as long as its not only for him. In fact maybe a one week window for everyone is something we can look into for the future, like a transfer window in football.

I think its a good thing for him to change , its better for us fans . He probably wanted a GTR originally but none were available .

I did say I supported this decision yesterday .

Its not like Marco is taking someone out of their car , 2 guys dropped out and 2 gtrs were made available .

Adam that was a good idea , maybe in future seasons we have 1 week where drivers can trade / switch cars if they please or if a car is available if someone drops out .

Although I was refraining myself from this matter because I'm completely new here and this is not my fight, like a say in my country: "Opinions are like underwear everybody got theirs". Here it goes.

There is no perfect rules, any championship with to strict or to soft rules will be a mess. I think rules should evolve with experience and especially around those who make the best of them (let's just say the senior drivers, drivers that make this championship happen and have been here for a while).

It's just like real life, how many times it happen someone wants something but nobody listen, then something happen to a major content (Gilles Villeneuve, Ayrton Senna, etc...) and everything changes. That's not fair all the way, but in the end the reason prevails.

I'm new here, but I don't see a reason why a different/better/more suitable car shouldn't be used by any championship rider but can be easily used by a newbie (just like me, I just choose the car because it was the only one that was unpaired, not even got a clue if it was the best that suited me or not).

For instance what prevents a rider from removing itself from the championship then applying again to a new car that is available. Things like this append all the time, in real or virtual life, it's not cheating, just playing hard by the rules and bending them to a result. But it's not pretty to see and if it can be avoided by tweaking the rules one way or the other then it should be.

Mid season team/driver changes occur at the top most racing championships on the world, so why not allow it here.

Why not half compromise, for instance allow one car change for any rider during a championship. Keeping in mind that the rule must always apply for everyone in their request order.

I'm a completely newbie here! I don't want to mess this up by any mean, this is a established championship. This should be read just what it is, a mere opinion.

i actually agree with lobo.. we should be able to change cars in the season 1 time only.. if they reach an agreement with someone else who wants to change his car to another one they may be able to just switch their cars...? imo lobo made a nice comment about changing cars 1x per season.. but imo there should be a week in mid season.. and not that someone wants to change after 2 weeks...

Does anybody already trained for the Saturday race?
How is medium pace around this track?

I've been training online for 20 minutes today (private lounge) and I've managed a 1:25.195, but there is still lots of room for improvement and my wheels still need a few more miles on the engine to obtain the remaining 10hp.

So anyone wants to share their times?

My best so far is a 1:21.9xx

Awesome 💡. Very competitive time, miles away, need to readjust myself to the new FFB and online Grip, a little training and should be to bad. Guess from the championship standing that there must be an Alien or two here, curious to see what times they do . Nice :)

Yes we have two aleins in this league , they are unreal on new and old tires .

I am usually on for a bit of practice everyday , most times .

Add me to psn and ofcourse add the ICGTC lounge to psn as well , I will see you there sometime this week Lobo

Thanks I will add you. Already have ICGTC. Today i will not be able to play, but tomorrow we will train. Thanks

Sorry but like I'd said i will only be able to play tomorrow, I'm not at home today. But thanks again for the invitation. Tomorrow maybe we will be online at the same time.

I'm online 24/7 ;) Practicing for the race. Nah, 6 people signed up with me, guess I sign off as well. But you find me on teamspeak if you want to talk man. I'm just in not in GT5 ;)

I might actually be there for the race this weekend, although I'll be slightly hungover and tired beyond all

Don't really like this track that's why I haven't been practicing much , I will be online later to get some laps in.

I haven't done any testing this week. The reason is that I have decided to take time out from the game mainly due to the fact I haven't been able to enjoy it.

I have always loved competing in this championship as its been great fun and despite my shaky start in season 2. I have the least troubles in this series and its been stable for me.

If you want know about my videos from last season, I will be still doing them but I haven't had time to one this week so I will upload SSR5 next week, should be Friday or Saturday. I will try to do some season 2 rounds but that will take alot more work to do and I haven't made a decision on that yet.

Erik - You've been a great host who week in and week out hosts every week we've raced

Arkano - One of the people who gave me a chance to race in the first place

Immortal - Very fast driver although can be a bit like Vettel just been too good for me this season. Great last two seasons.

Persian - Needed a jerry can to get through races in season 2 gifting me the win at Spa. Vastly improved

Skendigi - My other rival from last season keep going for this season.

Season 2 - 4 wins, only NSX driver to win during the season at Suzuka (+ 1 minute win, still don't know how I did it though), Monaco (Tyre strategy was better, despite disconnection in qualifying), Nurburgring 24hr (quicker than anyone else) and Spa (Persian running low) but 3 disconnections left me 2nd
Season 3 - 3 wins, Still quick despite regulation changes, Fuji (Home button Persian), Tokyo (Mainly due to Erik) and Rome (Better judgement on tyres) but silly mistakes and poor luck left me tied 3rd but mine due to count back on wins.
Season 4 - Not working out and my enjoyment has suffered as a result mistakes in 3 races and a disconnection have really put a dampener on things.

It has been a hard decision for me to make but I have felt I need time away from GT5 after a long time playing it. So best of luck to everyone for the remainder of the season

I still would like to be put on the reserve list incase I do want to return mainly Motegi at the end of the season.
