If GT5 does incorporate a livery editor...

I'm hopeful there is a paintshop or livery editor. I have visions otherwise of turning up for a race online and seeing a grid of identical cars, sometimes this was bad enough in some of the single make events in GT mode. As for body kits PD could reprise an idea from the early GTs of having a race modification option on cars which added the spoilers, skirts and downforce options with a range of colour schemes.

I would love to see one. I had fun adding some art to some of the cars in Forza and rather than giving us eight of the same car (JGTC NSX's & Supra's anyone?) it might be easier to just add the livery yourself with some paint and manufacturer decals.

And on top of that it would allow for great customization when doing up your car. Seeing people online with their own design or your design is something I'd very much like to see...

I think if PD do include a livery editor then when buying a race car you should be able to choose to have a specific team livery or to have a blank canvas car.

I'm wondering about the possibility of a textural template for each car. Is that possible? That way we can create a single-layer graphic and import it into GT5 from the PS3 hard-disk. Yesno?

This would be great! or at least be able to import gif or jpeg file as liveries/vinyls, this way we can use graphics editors, no need for PD to implement a graphic editor on the game itself.

I would like to cut and paste explicit porn onto my car. I wonder if cars could get banned?
Which is exactly the reason why chances are the livery editor won't allow importing pics and you'll have to design everything from shape libraries using in-game tools.

Don't see the need for that since you can cover the existing livery with a single-color layer and then paint your own livery on top.

It could also be that any custom livery is not an online feature. It would increase loading times for online games as all those textures of up 15 other cars would have to be downloaded before a race could start.

Adding a livery editor would be amazing. There's so much space on the blu ray disc, so why not implement something as useful as this? So many fans of cars would have a blast just editing their favorite rides. And rightly so. There's nothing like adding a sense of you into a beautiful car. Talk about the essence of racing, the essence of Gran Turismo. The car and the driver united. Call it matrimony. Doesn't get much better, I reckon:)

based on what i have seen in forza they can also do porno stuff with those tools. If they can do bruce lee, they can do girls :)

I understand that with importing, it would allow people like me with no graphical skills to put porno stuff in the cars.

I would love to see this happen. It would be way too good to be true. I have actually bought cars from people in Forza 2 that were re-makes from the Gran Tursimo series. Like the Ford GT. Pretty much any car I can think of was re-created in Forza 2 one way or another. WOuld be so awesome if GT5 had a livery editor. After 5 years of development I would sure hope it does. Just that feature by itself would make the wait worth it.

This is how I'll be rollin'...

Grand Marquis/Ghetto Edition sittin' on 26 inch rims

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen!

No idea if somebody else posted this livery already, but if i had the skills and GT5 had the option, i'm having this one:

It's a Porsche, It's a Martini livery, It's psychedelic and hippiesh, nothing more said its perfect .

I fired up Forza 2 in order to take some pics of my rides I'd painted up, and forgot just how unfinished so many of them were. And even though I didn't think I'd get into it again, I've started painting a few of them over. You guys who've never painted a model car or jet, or created a livery in Forza, are unaware just how sweet it is to see that cool looking paint job, and know that it's uniquely your own. Over the next week or so, I'll see if I can post some of my better looking shots and give you a clue how nifty this is. With a few basic shapes and just three or four colors, add in a few decals and a bit of text here and there, you can make up a race car that looks like a million bucks.

Wow... when I buy my capture card and get back into Forza next year, I am SO making that car!

By the way, I have to wait for a TV delivery, but I have a few things to share afterward.

I have to admit, after seeing the creativity coming out of FM3 livery and storefront, having a livery does really add much more value and personalization in a game.

Before i was reluctant to ask for too much from Kaz, but if he has the resources and the time to incorporate this option, it would be AWESOME.

I was never really against it, unless the incorporation of it would mean further delay of the game... which i could not bear anylonger...

If livery has been in the game and offered to the gamers/players since the beginning of the development already, and that it will make it to Spring 2010... It would be another great surprise Kaz has been reserving us!!!

One can only hope... & hopefully Kaz will not let us down this time!

Many, many ideas float about in my mind.
Here are some examples:
-red cars with the hammer and sickle on the hood and front doors, for my Soviet Union race team
-Somebody mentioned a car they put a Van Halen-like graphic on it. I plan to do so to a Lamorghini. (Tribute to "Panama")
-Mythbusters livery (Basically, Mythbusters logo, with various quotes from the show adorning the car.)
-Jethro Tull "Aqualung" car (If we could import pictures, that is)
<MORE COMING SOON>

a livery editor would be KILLER to include...Forza 3 was my first experience OWNING a Forza game and can tell you its quite amazing...I personally am not very good with it, but some of the things people create are insane...

i mean these are just a couple of one guy's "fantasy" paints for those that have no experience...they are made entirely from shapes provided in game...no importing of pictures is allowed...

there are also countless real race car designs over there as well...

i think a well done livery editor would be a welcome edition to the GT franchise...

Although a lot of work has gone in to those examples, I think they're some of the worst examples in Forza. I can imagine the majority of youngsters (13yr olds) doing these, while the more mature gamers punt for genuine race replica liveries.

I am afraid that my best attempts would look like a 13 year old did them, thats why if we do get a livery editor I hope that we can trade amungst eachother so I can have cool looking cars too.
