One of the problems I've had with some games is like I HAVE to have an American voice dictate me through (at least) the North American version of GT6. Almost as if a developer has to give a native of one's country or international region one of their own just to make the game relatable. I would probably prefer some celebrity voices to someone who either loves cars or is a great racer. I don't think the voice is required to be someone of my own nationality. It shouldn't be like America's versions of ToCA World Touring Cars ("Jarrett and LaBonte Stock Car Racing" in America) or the American version of "Colin McRae Rally 2.0"), where Ned Jarrett or somebody is the voice just to keep the game true to my own international region.
So if I had to choose certain voices, this would be my short list: Bob Varsha, Tiff Needell (been in a number of Eutechnyx games), David Hobbs, Alain de Cadenet, Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen, Michael Schumacher, Mark Skaife, or maybe one more name- Gordon Murray. I may even add Tommy Kendall as part of the list. I don't think just because I'm in a certain region doesn't mean I have to have a certain native person be a voice or something for a game. The only American I listed was Bob Varsha. But that would be my list of voice-over talent if GT6 were to have such voice-over talent for the game.
Part of voice-overs is in having people you actually want to hear and care about. So if GT6 had Kyle Busch as a celebrity voice-over, and if you're not a fan of Rowdy Busch; you would feel better muting the sound rather than hear a word uttered from Kyle Busch. Someone mentioned Danica Patrick. I'd be VERY okay hearing her commentary in GT6 as a fan of hers. It's all about people who know cars and/or racing. Gender isn't even an issue, so I'd have no problem if Danica Patrick or Vicki Butler-Henderson were the celebrity voices to help out. And I would NEVER stoop to the level of a YouTuber by making kitchen jokes or something as a way of saying "I don't want a female celebrity voice taking me through GT."
I wouldn't be too excited about having too many voice-overs, but at least you know now what I wouldn't mind if celebrity voices were lent to GT6.
