Not all, because you've always gave room when neccessary but i think you have me confused, my Viper is clearly red (see my avatar) I don't mind people using slow cars or slow drivers. I don't mean that in my ranting, it just slow cars that are impossible to pass that have miffed me off. I've raced your Evo before and you know when you have the right to defend, and when you're best off leaving room, i respect that largely.

I also dont remember this incident you speak of.

Lol, must be color blind! :dunce: But I know you were in a Viper in that particular race. It was two days ago that race so don't worry if you don't remember it since I imagine you've done plenty of races since then. Oh i'm glad that I didn't upset you on that part, its like a massive weight shifted from my shoulders!

Honestly, don't let me through if you see me pressuring you in the mirror, drive your own race and I'll drive my own. That's not what im looking for, i just want to not be put in harms way by a slow mover who leaves no room to pass. First time i met you i massively respected you for maintaining control and avoiding me as i ran around you on Dunlop curve. I carry that respect with me.

So please,it would be nice to keep your PP max if you race in times scheduled races.

Totally agree

I agree with that, but it should be remembered that some tuning configs for some cars naturally max out at 749. eg In Lotus Elise 96 and 111R. To get 750 dead-on with those cars you'd have to mess with the Aero to do it and sacrificing aero is a major disadvantage.

And the problem with that is? I may not be a brilliant driver like some on the GTP but I've used tunes done by the tuners where there car is 749, i round it up to 750, then live with the consequences

Not a good excuse.
A major disadvantage is when you start as nummer 11 ,10 seconds behind a Elise with 749 PP.:sly:
No way you get that back because the one with 750 PP has 1 point more.
One click lower in downforce will mostly result in a click higher in the power.

Again agree

What kind of times are you guys turning in these 5 lap races - I want to make sure I'm competitive before I turn into another Dragonistic obstacle. :)
I'm gonna use one of his tunes to protect myself just in case. 👍

If you can manage a 2.00min in free run, then you should be able to get up there, unless it's a race full of Timppaq's:scared:

At the risk of repeating myself - If I see you on the track in a ridiculously underpowered car and you don't get out of my way, I will make your life a misery.

Let me tell you about my last race of the night (before GF commandeered the telly to watch big brother) I started bang on 9:45 - cos GTP races 750 suzuka every 15 mins right?

...Wrong! The front half of the grid is a bunch of suzuki cappacinos or some other crap. "Fine," I think to myself, "they'll move off the track. I'm sure I seen a GTP tag in there"

...Wrong! All the mickey mouse cars floor it off the start line, so I take a risky outside line and just clear the last one going into T1. The rest of the drivers weren't so lucky. By the start of lap 2, going by the blips on the map. I'm about 10 secs clear of everyone.

"Well so much for racing," I think. So I slow down to see if anyone catches up. I'd let a viper and a Lotus past but still no sign of the rest of the field and suddenly the comedy squad are overtaking me, obviously still holding up the rest of the pack. So I floored it and decided to give out a taste of their own medicine (since I had nothing better to do by this point)

I overtook them, then, just like they'd done to us, I drove along in front of them, really slowly, generally making a nuisance of myself and holding up their race.

Well they didn't see the funny side (point made then) I had a laugh for the rest of the race, getting in their way and getting punted left right and center.

Next thing I know I get a very abusive PM from GTP_MeAgainstYou. It seemed to be some sort of morse code, using the F-word but I got the impression he wasn't too happy.

I'm going to say it one more time, for the slow readers. 00.15.30&45 is the GTP Suzuka Expert 750pp event (if you forget - check this thread title) If I see you on the track, at these times, in a glorified wheelbarrow, and you get in my way, do not expect to be treated any different from the (slightly less annoying) punters who I already have to contend with. Stick to 02.17.32&47 or whatever times you race - go screw up the game for someone other than me.

End of message :grumpy:

thats like the uber extreme of my gripe p3nt, its ok for me on a personal level with the Clio type driver who can at least turn in an ok lap time as long as its done without the expense of others. But that's just not right, they shouldve pulled over

I dont blame prudent (i did say through no fault of his own at one point)

My point is it created a hostile situation for us, a slow accelerating fast cornering car will easily be passed on a straight and cause no hassle in the danger areas on turns, the opposite will cause maximum disruption in the turns then no hassle on the straights. I was stabbing at the Clio because I've had the same problem happen twice where im put in danger because of the slowness through the turns, the most notable happened to be when Prudent was behind the wheel. It was just such a dangerous race for the guys behind because there was no chance to get away from the lesser considerate driver.

This would be absolutely fine in a private room, but in the public ones we have it's just so frustrating. I don't expect this to change peoples car choice, but they should be aware of the problems it can cause for people behind, and im worried Clio users will be in harms way if someone considerate isn't behind.

My main gripe was that you accused PrudentBear of ruining the race, which i didn't think was very fair, seeing as the problem wasn't prudents driving, but rather of some of the drivers behind.

Don't wanna fall out with people, and i appologise to you dragonistic if it looked like i started a personal attack on you, didn't mean it like that. Plus i was posting from my mobile phone, whilst at work, so was only writing half a sentance at once whilst in the middle of other things, so might not have made myself very clear.

Anyway enough of this now, i'm gonna come and race for a few, and i'll probably let faster drivers through, because i know i'm not that hot.

Now, where did i park my clio.....................

 Here Here

By the way they are on track now.

Thing is, you have to account for players of less ability than yourself, whether that's a different car or just a noobier driver. That comes with the territory. I'm sure Rudi and Timppaq feel the same way about me :sly: but the low PP brigade seem to be pushing that scenario to a whole new level.

Yeah I noticed the Suzuki Cappucinos with 714pp are starting to crop up in our time, and as mentioned they don't move out of the way unlike the Ferrari F430's that run 2 minutes after. They insist on running normally with the rest of the grid causing chaos at the start and the first corner. I don't have a grudge against them, but I do wish they move out of the way since it'll be inevitable that they will be overtaken by standard 750pp spec cars during the race.

Oh forgot to say, great racing there cudadude in your Corvette! 👍

I thnk Prudent knew i wasnt blaming him personally, his car choice just caused mayhem that was avoidable in that race. No need to apolagise at all :)

But anyway i'll drop the subject as we've all said what's needed to be said to support both arguments, don't let faster guys through, if they're faster, they'll work around you.

And when you get reported for being an arse I have waste time dealing with it behind the scenes. But hey, at least you have time to race.

End of message. :grumpy:

Yeah, but i'm crap under pressure, and will probably spin out, taking out anyone behind me. Plus sometimes i like to let someone faster through so i can follow them, and hopefully learn something.

Got disconnected for the xx:00 race. Reason? The host was a lone Suzuki Cappucino 714pp car against a fairly standard grid, knew he was alone so he called it quits and stopped the whole race. :grumpy: I was kinda looking forward to racing a standard grid for a while...

Yea following guys can help your line, however in order to learn to deal with pressure, you must be put under pressure, so don't ALWAYS let guys through right away.

I understand where Matt is coming from with this. I too have pressure when someone is around me as i'm constantly thinking "What if I bottle it and mess it up? I tarnish the GTP tag!" so I tend to lift off as a preventative measure. From another perspective it looks weak, but I rather carry on after letting the person through than ruining another person's race. Especially when you know your car is not the fastest on the grid...

EDIT: Point taken, weren't sure whether you going pass me on Spoon Dragonistic. About to get back to line but when I saw you dived in I just crawled across the gravel pit just to be safe! lol

My philosophy as well, but then take it to the next step

even if only through a few corners at first, the let them pass you, you had the practice and they cannot bitch and moan that you held them up

BTW I'm testing a GTlm, apologies if i cause any mishap

sorry wanna-b. since i dont have the time to practice anymore my racing has gotten sloppy. Again, my apologies for bumping you.

Eek, sorry if I got in the way at the start guys, I didn't get the launch off the line I was hoping for. I think I blocked one of you guys, in an Amuse S2000, while trying to let you through. :indiff:

Sorry to drama-kyd, I think I may have bumped you in Degner earlier tonight. I didn't see a touch, but you were right behind me when you went off.

Sorry to whoever I took out (didn't catch the name) at the beginning of the :45 race, I was trying to avoid a slow-moving F40 :grumpy: Didn't mean to side-swipe you...

Sorry for any various minor bumps while racing here tonight. Don't believe I knocked anyone off, just some side taps here or there. Seemed a bit laggy at times tonight, and this was my first time racing online in a bit. :scared:

Among those I saw - Luxy, drama-kyd, Vaxen, Spyhunter, Linpark and BrokenVow. Some good battles here and there, when we were not getting battered about in turn 1, lap 1. 👍

Wow, tonight we had the races at :00,:15,:30,:45 and each race that I was in had at least 7 or 8 GTP guys out of the 12. One race had 11 and the 12th was a guy in an Elise "ashtv" that whooped us all a couple times and he was clean. Great fun to see the whole screen full of GTP tags.

Apologies to Vaxen for a bit of sloppy driving towards the end of my stint. Was getting tired...tired of watching those darn GTLMs pass me in my red viper! I refuse to go to the dark side...yet!

Yea that ashtv guy is amazing in the elise he ran a 10.05 in 1 of the races which is the lowest time Ive ever seen for that 5lap event.

Watch out for "ashdtv (US) in a green lotus". First Class punter.

Come across him earlier and had trouble, then I have just watched him blatantly shoving a GTRP member of the track for the lead. the lad has talent and tbh does not need to do this.

I refer you to my earlier post.

This guy is far from clean. I have witnessed first hand what this guy is like. I was used as a brake several times and shoved of the track. Then in another race I witnessed him shoving other people of track. What baffles me with him is that yes he is fantastic so why result to dirty tricks to win.

Not finding this event to be quite as enjoyable as the old Suzuka 600PP S2 events, but it's the best since we lost that. The speeds are much higher and as the corner speeds and braking distances vary so much by car it's much harder to follow a car closely and avoid contact. 5 laps are definitely better.... give you a chance to rejoin and get back up the pack when you get punted going in to turn 1.

Had some good races last night - one in particular with cudadue (are you the same cudadude from Granturismo.com days?) and Konvex (not tagged, but clean and fast).

Appologies to duke of pendle, who I managed to punt going in to the chicane.

And finally, to all those in tuned cappacinos... if you're going to race a low PP car, please arrange a seperate start time to 00-15-30-45 official race times - you lot were a complete pain in the arse last night.

Agreed, I was punted off track at least twice by him. He is very fast, but pushing people out of the way instead of overtaking is not racing.

I sent him a message, which was on the abusive side and he has replied, quite cordially appoligising and explaining that his ping is a bit laggy and causes him problems. He say it is not intentional and appoligises for any upset caused.

Thoroughly nice reply, fair play. I have replied saying sorry for my original message and have invited him to have a look at our forum. Must admit he is a fast driver. I was running 2 minute laps and he turned laps upto 6 seconds faster. I could get nowhere near him.

Yea i had some good battles with him at the front of the pack when i saw him, we were trading spots regularly but this caused us to lose touch with the GTLM in front so we usually battled for 2nd. Although we had a 3 way battle once, myself, ashdtv and doctorben. Good to have clean racing with non tagged drivers.

You had a clean race with doctorben??

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Yea, he races great with me generally, still swerves on the straight but apart from that he's been good with me, since i waited for him after i hit him off once. He mailed me and thanked me for giving him such great races and complimented my driving as well as sending me a friend invite.

Sucked up to you then. :dopey:
