Hi. I am also know as Nolan. I found this site a long time ago, don't remember how. I'm from Finland/UK. Started playing racing games about 15 years ago. I play with G29, but I'm thinking about upgrading to fanatec wheel soon. I've been playing GT7 for 3 weeks online, last week I ended up in B DR, but all the ramming at grand valley dropped me back to C. I'm 55 years old. Any other geezers around?

Hey guys,
My name is Naven. I used to lurk on these forums quite a bit when I played Gran Turismo 5/6 and it definitely solidified my adoration for the game. I'm from New York, USA and currently 29 years old. I started with a G27 racing wheel on GT5 and recently upgraded to a G923, a PS5, a 4K TV, and GT7 a few weeks ago. Even more recently, I've gotten myself a PSVR2 headset (still trying to get used to the picture quality and learning how to set it up properly for the best possible experience.) I'm also frequently on Call of Duty, NBA2K, and I recently got Diablo 4. Looking forward to racing with you guys online!

Hi everyone, I introduce myself Instevs36 I released some mods on RD so the nickname may speak to some people with whom I exchanged.

  • How did you find GTPlanet?
  • Where are you from?
  • When did you start playing racing games?
  • Do you play with a shuttlecock? If so, what kind do you use?
  • What other games do you like?

1) I first heard GTPlanet on RD, from a member who talked about GTPlanet.
2) From France and you wouldn't see me posting a lot of messages, because even with Google translation I have trouble communicating in English.
3) I was 7 years old and now more than 40 years have passed.
4) G25 - G27 + TH8a
5) Other than car, sports in general and a bit of The wWitcher.
6) No idea yet. Maybe talk a little on the AC forum.

Otherwise what more to say about me, of course I like motorsport and I'm a small modder with a small level, mainly I create skins, textures in general, some sound and basic knowledge in file tuning from given .data .ini etc.

Welcome Elwood, it's great to see you found this site, now we can be friends and talk about GT and other non-related things. I live in the US.

Hello, I've been following GTPlanet for a long time and finally decided to join the discussions :)

I'm playing racing games since I remember but only few years back I've made them my full-time hobby, ditching other game genres. Logitech G29 is my wheel of choice, used to play basically anything that it's suited for - with Forza taking prime spot (Horizon today and, hopefully, Motorsport in the near future), as it's the best in meeting my needs for robust car roster, immersion, proper physics, and interesting progression. Gran Turismo could be its fierce rival if not for immersion and progression ;)

When not playing, I'm wasting too much time listing cars in Excel or at Forza forums 😅

I am not sure I can stay here, I am 74 years old, I do not play games. I bought my first car in 1965 it was a 1947 Chevy. My Mom Bought it for me as I was 14 at the time. My Grandfather build Ford racing engine for NASCAR in the 50s. So I think i got the Car genes from him. The 47 only had 1st and reverse. The first day I had I studied the shift linkage and found the problem, made a linkage adjustment and took it for spin, i was laughing out loud as I shifted it into 2nd, then third and go up to 50 MPH on our country backroad. When I pulled in the driveway Mom was waiting for me and told me to stop. She walked up and asked my what I was doing. I told her i fixed the shifter and took it for a test drive. She asked me if it worked and I said "OH YEAH! it was cake!" She laughed and said I was Her Dads Grandson, Just stay in the lane here we don't have insurance yet. 6 Months later I bought a 1957 Oldsmobile V8, 4 speed automatic Tranny and the rear end. I drove the 47 to my buddy place because his Dad had a welder. We swapped out the Chevy Drive line for the Olds Stuff. My Dad was shocked when i returned home with the Olds. He alway bought Oldsmobiles. I told him I wanted the same engine he had. You see I didn't play games I just worked on cars. After the Chevy I bought a 1964 Corvette, 327 365 HP, 4 speed Convertible. But you know the Chevy Big Block came out so I had to find a way to get one. I bought a 427 drag race motor and sold my 327. That caused the front end to sag and rear end was light. Tires would just smoke with the heavy Big Block, Massive Torque and skinny tires. Over the years since 1971 when I was Drafted into the Army, I have had a few cars that I enjoyed, 1962 MG, 1969 Pontiac Firebird, 1964 Pontiac GTO, 1964 Corvette Coupe Big Block Supercharged Drag Car, 1979 Corvette, 1981 Corvette L98 Engine swap Vortech Blower (Mustang Eater), 1993 Corvette, 1998 Corvette Magnuson Supercharger, 2007 Corvette Ron Fellows Z06 LS7 427, 2015 Chevy SS from Holden Australia put an LSA Supercharger on that as My Dad passed away and left money to spend on my Car. He knew. But I missed the Corvette and the SS Sedan was too big for me. Sold it and found a 2014 Corvette Z51 with 5,000 Miles so i bought it and since retiring have not had the money to mess with it. I can not decide Supercharger or Front wheel Electric Hub motors to make a All Wheel Drive Hybrid. I hope this ok to share and determine if this is a group for me. I am old, but I have done some stuff and I don't play games. I build stuff.

Hi - I found GT planet looking for tunes. Great site!

I found GT Planet for searching competitions in GT Sport
Italy
I started playing racing games when I bought my PS4 in 2018
Sometimes I use it for playing F1 and Project Cars 2, It is a Thrustmaster T150
I enjoy playing Rocket League, Minecraft and Fall Guys
To help people, saying mine about the upcoming updates and for Custom Races thread, maybe competing in the Livery Competitions and participating in some competitions.

Hello to Jordan and all!

I believe I first discovered GT Planet back when I was still playing GT5. I had fully completed the game and was getting kind of bored with it and had recently heard that there was a way to mod the game so that you could engine swap cars, slam them, give them ungodly power figures etc. so I hoped on the internet to find out how and in my search stumbled upon the forums.

I kind of only used GT Planet for that purpose at that point and stopped browsing for a good while until I bought myself a PS4 about 2 years ago and thereafter bought GT Sport. That's when I became a regular visitor of the forums for help with tuning of cars when I struggled, as well as help with using the livery editor so that I could utilize it to it's fullest advantage.

I'm from South Africa, currently residing in Johannesburg however formally from Durban.

I've been a car person all my life as far back as I can remember and therefore have always been into racing game, from way back to the cartridge video game days and up till today racing games are primarily what I enjoy playing.

I unfortunately do not have a steering wheel setup mainly due to space as well as finances, however I hopefully will be moving to a bigger place in the near future and will be able to get myself a good wheel setup.

The main thing I'm looking forward to now that I've officially joined the community is mainly what I already enjoy which is the sharing of knowledge by people to help out other, I love that you can find answers to almost anything you want to know related to the game here. I also look forward to also creating my own tutorial and setup threads on this platform to share my own knowledge and preferences to others.

Thanks!

I am not sure I can stay here, I am 74 years old, I do not play games.
Although we were originally founded as a Gran Turismo fan site, as you'll discover we have way more than that going on these days. Some of our longer-term members are in a similar boat to you: they don't play games these days, but they're still here and still active in the other sub-forums.

Played GT3 on PS2 years ago, just recently got a PS5 and Gt7, so Iv'e gone from GT3 to GT7 and missed every thing in between. Playing currently with the PS5 Dual Sense controller From Colorful Colorado. Someday I hope to get a wheel, but not their yet.

Came here because of the frustration of the Dirty driving that seems to pervade the Sport mode, particuraly in the A Races. B races were mostly good, except when someone on the long straight jumped in front of my bumer at 190MPH and immediately slammed on the brakes. Made for a spectacular crash, amazed to have walked away from it.......lol. My DR/SR is D/S with 41 Races now in total. I have played a lot of the NFS games. Also Play Skyrim, Horizon, Witcher, BOTW.

Hello everyone! So, making a quick introduction:

-I'm a long time Gran Turismo fan and I'm planning to get GT7 later this year, went here to seek info on new updates, ended up creating this account to interact with the community
-I'm from Spain
-My first racing game was GT Advance Championship Racing on the game boy advance, back when I was 5-6. Soon after my dad bought a PS2 with F1 05 and GT4 and the rest is history.
-I'm more of a console player so I mostly use a controller, but I do have a PC with a Thrustmaster T300 Ferrari edition for more "sim-racey" games like Project Cars 2 or AC/ACC
-Apart from the racing games I mentioned, I'm also a big fan of the Battlefield and Ace Combat franchises. I do enjoy flight sims a lot.
-As I said, I mostly seek GT7 news/community threads for info on new/leaked cars, tracks and overall game news. However I will probably visit the Asetto Corsa section a lot.

Hi @ all
Quick introduction:
Playing GT since 1997. Started with GT1 on PS1 and now GT7 on PS5. Bought nearly every release of Gran Turismo (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and Tokyo-Geneva)
I´m a real car fan. My mother told me that I never left the house without my case filled with Matchbox cars....
Keeping the family tradition I´m a Mercedes guy. Actually driving a 2004 C200 Station wagon and as a long time project I restaurate a 1973 450 SE S-Class. ( There are only two engines existing: V8 and ******** :))
Born in Germany in the mid 60s, living in Switzerland since more than 20 years.
I´ll repair my cars myself (as much as possible) and have fun with it. When I had to go to a garage I can´t afford a Mercedes.

In the beginning of playing on console I got GT, Need for Speed, Ridge Racer and several other racing games.
Now, after more than 25 years, I have only a handful of games. Favourites are GT7 and Farming Simulator. Sometimes playing Sim City or Horizon.

I like the tuning of Praiano as I´m not able to make any adjustions for a better car feeling. And I like that he ignore any FF (front scratch cars)

Hey all, I'm not necessarily a new member, actually quite old.

I had to create a new account because my old account had an email account that has been defunct for many years...

I was "Godson" here and over at the old GTF.

Is there any chance I can merge that old username with my new one?

Anyways, I'm glad to be back.
