Don't need to do that. It is one of the first gen Intel Atom netbooks. I tried running rFactor on one with the same processor and it runs barely quick enough to steer. Still managed to do under 1:35 around Suzuka though ;).

You need to definately get another laptop to play iRacing.

ugh. wish people wouldn't be so stupid on this game sometimes. Guy on pole in the iRacing Prototype and GT event decided that he was going to let the entire outside line go before he went. So as i'm trying to make my way through some of the slower HPD traffic, one locks up and crashes into me. Ruins my iRating and my SR, and points possibilities. Freaking sweet.

Can you be demoted a class in iRacing?

Had a couple of months off and since I've been back I've been having a nightmare! Gone from a 2.4 class D to 1.something now!

Birthday and Christmas are this month, so what ever funds I get I'll be investing in some CSP's as my braking is no where near consistent enough while using my DF:GT pedals!

Depending on the price of the CSW, I may have to 'treat' myself ;). The F1 rim just looks soooooo good!

Yes, you can be demoted. If your SR is anywhere below 2.0 on promotion day you're loosing your license.

You cant be bounced down from Class D to Rookie tho so you can continue massacring everyone lol. Everyone else can be demoted tho

Hey guys could u guys tell me an average lap time at thompson speedway in a street stock. Just wanna get a perspective on how im doing. Thank u!

Chet, http://members.iracing.com/membersite/member/SeriesRaceResults.do?season=546 - click on the 'R' icon. That will show you a race. Normally to be competitive in oval racing you want to be within a second of the average leader that pops up. So my guess would be 22.5 for your fastest lap should be a target. Of course there's probably other factors. And I'm not sure bout street stocks. I've only run Legends on Oval side

Only double posting to bump this thread.

But, just did about an hour of testing. Quali time of 1:44.103 and a high fuel load time of around 1:45.1

*edit*

I was just looking at the forums. I'm farther off than I expected. Guys are running low 42's... I don't get it. I've raced at this track in real life and have been competitive in the HPD all season. A bit confused.

Nice! So far my high with the HPD at Suzuka is a 1.52. However, I've only put in bout 10 laps. Maybe if I had a week I could get it down to 1:47 is my guess. This HPD feels great but right now I dont have the time to devote to it. Next season tho I might check it out

Q: Is there any reward for being a Division Leader?

I'm racing with the Skippy at Lime Rock this week. Had a pretty fun race last night:

Think I'm going to try a few more today as I got to get my SR up.

This new NTM the Skippy got seems to have made it a bit faster. I'm able to run in 58's now using the baseline setup, with the old NTM my best was 59.3.

I never thought I'd hear "get my SR up" and the "Skippy" in the same sentence. :D They usually work against each other.

 What can I say, I like the car. But I agree it's very tricky, especially at Lime Rock.

I just don't find the MX-5 races much fun these days and the Skip is the only other car I own that I also have the track it's racing on this week.

I was just trying the Skippy out last night. It was tough for me. It certainly feels like a car that will teach me a lot... but i am not sure I like it.

Does anyone have the Star Mazda or Radical? Any opinions on the driving experience with those 2?

I have driven the Star mazda a lot. It's a lot of fun but the races usually boast a lot of attrition. I haven't driven the Radical so much, the only problem is that I don't think many people run the series.

Both are good cars, with the Star Mazda you;ll find a race every time, with the Radical you'll have a blast every time you get to race! Translation? Radical racers tend to be cleaner but fewer than star Mazda racers. Most races go clean on the Star Mazda but every now and then you'll find an idiot racing it.

I have the Star Mazda but I didn't race a lot with it, only enough to get my license up. I was planning on racing with it this season for at least eight weeks so I could get the credit bonus but its track schedule didn't work for me so I'm racing the Skippy and the Lotus 79 instead. But it's a fun car.

Did two more races with the Skip yesterday, scored a victory and a second place.

The second place would actually be a third but the leader ran out of fuel on the straight of the last lap, passed him right before the finish line.

looking forward to next week when the mustang challenge returns to lime rock park. Im currently 2nd in the championship div 8.

Are there any prices for the top 3 of a division?

Just finished another Race. Prototype and GT Fixed in the HPD. Started on pole and drove a perfect race to the finish. I should be sitting inside the top 10 in the fixed series when the points update. Hopefully I have similar luck in the non fixed series as i'm still in the Top 5 not including this week. Div 3 btw.

Kamui you are blazing fast in the HPD! Damn your times are quick! I stepped in to the practice session last night and all I could do is 12s while you are cruising into the 9s! Well done man!

Thanks! Ran an 8.93 in a test session this morning. Qualifying trim though. IDK, for some reason this car just really suits my driving style. Pretty ironic because my dream is to race Le Mans and win the 24 Heures Du Mans!

I hope you make it man! You are already on your way!

Ah so that anwsers my question as well (in regards to prizes for division leaders). Kamu thats an awesome time (as I'm sure you know by far). I think all I hit was a 1.17 so of course I have no plans to race the HPD atm. Fun car to mess around in tho

Why not!? That's the only way you are gonna get any faster, just do a few races give it some seat time and you'll see improvements every time!

Well I still have my hands full with Grand Am Rolex but I'm thinking after the 8th week or so I'll jump over to Prototypes & GT. I'll keep trying to practice in the meanwhile so I can suck much less when that day comes. I really want to get into the fixed races :dopey:
