Hey Jav, i need a tutorial on how to use photoshop and make my own paint. Do you have any good links or advice you can give me to get started? Ive got photoshop and the templates, but dont know how to edit them at all.

I just found this yesterday, it's a 2 part video using PSE9

Here's my Nationwide car for the upcoming season. Little more basic than my last scheme.

Thanks Mac. My teammate does all my painting. I'll probably get him to paint me up a monster energy nationwide car as well like Kyle Busch's car.

I need to find someone worthy to paint up a few oval cars in a scheme! I really wish the colors in game were brighter or able to customize colors.

Sure! I'll post up in a bit, wich reminds me I need to send those same tutorials to Pat...

Well, your in luck. Because oval cars (especially any of the NASCAR ones) are my specialty ;)

Ok, so how do you remove all the little sponsor stickers on the fender of a car? I followed the video tutorial where that kid removed some decals that he didnt want. Its not showing on my template OR my .tga file but when i load the track the decals are back. Am i missing something? I selected the layer they were on, highlighted and deleted the images.

That kid deleted decals that were added by the template's website from what I remember, I think the Sim puts it's decals on just it puts numbers on. I could be wrong and there may be a way around that though but I don't know of it if there is.

This is just a preview of what im working on, i only painted this side of the car so far and its not done. But thumbs up if you know what this is from :)

Old school Bill Elliott NASCAR scheme?

Yes Sir! When i first discovered racing, Bill Elliott was the man to beat in Nascar, plus hes from Georgia my home state. My photoshop skills are amateur at best right now, but hopefully i can do it justice.

Yeah growing up my granddad was a big Bill Elliot fan so I had a few toy cars with that paint scheme lol.

Was going through my screenshot folder so I figured I'd post these up of me and teammate practicing pushing for a league race last season. I'm in the 58.

I commissioned a painter to do something different for my Falcon this season. Its the green / white / gold version of an old Castrol-Perkins paint scheme from the 90s. I happened to be in a race with a guy that runs that original livery tonight. I'm car #8 in the pic. Very happy with the job he did ! :)

The madspeed design is awesome, nice design. The gamestop designs looks like: Let's pick a color and throw stickers on it. Not my style. Creating a design like the Madspeed on the other hand is just awesome 👍

I like it!

The number 8 car seem nice spinner, actually looks sharper than the number 9 car also

I like that as well!

Thanks alot Mad 👍 finally get to see on a car and not just as a flat.

Just so you know, Those aren't just one color and some stickers. Those are whole backgrounds I carefully cut out and measured and then applied the necessary logos (at least based on how I've see the real life Gamestop cars made, sans the Deadliest Warriors car with the exposed Chainmail on the roof and sides). Not to seem like I'm whining, but it just sounds like you're implying Little to no effort was put into it when as the person who made these, I did.

On a roll now . After making the Arrows, I decided I couldn't just stop there if I'm racing the Lotus 79 too, so I went and made another paint.

This time this is based on the Benetton B188:

I was basically wondering what I could do to give the Lotus a nice paint, saw that a lot of people had already done classic era liveries (McLarens, Ferraris, Brabhams, Williams, etc) so I decided to do one thats a bit later and one that I remembered from when I was younger.
I used to always flick through an old Scalextric magazine from about 1992 and one of the F1 cars that you could buy was this one. I never had it, I had the Williams FW10 and Lotus 98T. But this car stuck in my memory because of its in-your-face colour scheme and the Benetton logo on the front.

It was not my intention to imply that you put little effort in it, but in the end those gamestop cars look like stickers cars to me.

So you did a nice job putting it together, but when you copy something I personally don't like in the first place you will have to do a terrible job if i like the copy..

I was about to make my first FW31 paintjob and when I started align the graphics I made to the nose of the car I noticed the grid was not very good aligned in the template. I downloaded my template from TradingPaint.

Anyone else noticed this and what did you do to "make up" for it?

I'm working on a '69 trans am paint for the mustang but the decal stamp is in the way of a major part of it, if I moved the Decal stamp layer behind the main body, would it disappear or would iRacing just stamp over the top of it?
