Flat floor transforms my "favorite car into a full racing machine". Good to know.

cool story bro

All it said was racing modifications. Body parts, flat floors, and rear wings are all racing modifications. Now if you're looking for "race modifying" as could be done to a limited number of premiums in GT5, then I agree it's not the same thing and it would be nice to be able to do that to every car (or at least all the premiums).

It says "We'll even paint your cars or perform racing modifications transforming your favorite car into a full racing machine."

This was strategically covered in the newest picture so I can see why some might not be aware of what it says.
Maybe they'll remove the original picture when they remember they have an official site they're maintaining.

So they are witholding an update that could possibly bring bug fixes and updates GT6 SERIOUSLY needs because they are waiting for Geneva, which presumably means that it's going to come with another (or a few) VGT cars...

Lot of assumption going on there.

Is that strategic covering the aftermath of a gaffe involving out-of-date or recycled script? They were pre-release shots, "subject to change". And change they did. ;)

EDIT: the same thing happened with GT5 regarding GT Auto. This, combined with all the "hidden" parts accessed via game-save modifications, plus those exposed variables someone pulled out of the game files, makes me think the tuning system is due for an overhaul. I expect that would interact with a few systems...

How the hell are you supposed to eat that thing :confused:

He hinted at it:

Note: Jordan's capitals, not mine:lol:
I know. 5 seconds after he posted that I realized:
The update will come on Friday during the Geneva Auto Show and will contain at least the BMW.

BUT that's just my "speculation" :sly:

I chuckle when I hear people mention pushing the ps3 to the limits.

The truth is games have been pushing the limits of hardware forever... It's not a linear vessel like a cup or bucket.

Optimization is how you improve the use of the hardware and is a never ending pursuit... And that is where the real limits are...

You should see the early demos of games... You can use 100% of hardware resources in a 10x10 box...

So pushing the limit is a misnomer that impresses and placates the uninformed... No offense but don't start making excuses for PD based on hardware... Yes, it's impressive how much they can do, but it's equally as unimpressive how they fail so hard on simpler more fundamental things like design... Such poor design that it nearly undermines their technical achievements...

But that's PD's legacy... They will react to another game looking better much faster than a better designed game... Locked in the 90's where esthetics were king.

I saw this today on 9gag.

I posted that just to remind us all that we are not the only community complaining about our favorite game.

Being a gamer since the mid 80's, I'm very aware of this new trend developers sadly love to implement. As some have said, this won't stop; it will only get worse. It only depends on how fast developers want to push the scam in to their customers, and how long gamers are willing to play along with it.

What was it recycled from? Honest question.
It was out of date 6 months before release yet wasn't "fixed" til weeks after release.

I'd rather have him ask for a statement regarding the lack of communication and why we haven't seen any of the promised features they heavily rely on to advertise GT6.

This a million times. I'm kinda surprised Jordan hasn't been pursuing an answer earlier. Who knows, maybe he has.

Come on. It's pre-school level code. Jordan is taking pity on us.
You don't know how true that is.... Nobody here is hoping more for some real news than @Jordan, believe me.

He is always pursuing answers but it isn't as easy as you might imagine. He hasn't got a hot-line to PD to catch the latest gossip... The news on the update came from SCEA not PD and is not related to the forthcoming VGT content, so please, nobody make that mistake.

Can we cut down on the slow-chat and off-topic clutter a bit, please guys?

I always just assume he's being careful in order to preserve whatever industry relationships he has developed over the years. That's what I would do. Always triple check everything with as many people as possible before saying anything to the minions forum members.

From https://www.gtplanet.net/new-track-vision-gt-x2014-discussed-at-taipei-game-show/

"Based around the town of Zahara de la Sierra in Andalusia, Spain, the new track will be the longest in GT6 - longer than even the Nurburgring Nordschleife’s 26km of tarmac. As previously announced, it will be released in February, along with the Red Bull X2014 Standard and X2014 “Fan Car” models."

No dates? Tsk tsk...

For a moment I felt like defending PD but haven't checked the exact wording (which I thought was different). :embarrassed:

Well...the longer 1.05..or whatever they call it is delayed, the more expectations are put on PD.

Maybe they are now preparing a backlash contingency plan built into it. :sly:
