I think we should have the 5 silent laps added on to what we already have for that race, so there would be 6 pace laps in total, with the first 5 being silent. The 6th would be our regular pace lap before the start of the race.

Good idea Joe, that's what we'll do then for both the US and UK series.

And yes I have seen, although if it's now I can't come as I desperatley need to sleep.

EDIT: i'm adding '+1 pace lap' to every race on the OP, so i'll just add it on.

I was there guys. It was a totally crushing thing to witness. I never wanted in my life to see anyone die, especially a driver. Every one in the stands were so distraught and I was visibly shaken when they announced the death after two hours of waiting.

I'll post some pictures up that I took here soon if you'd want them. I'm not part of the series or anything but I would just like to put forward the respect to true Indy fans based in England.

It must have been a shocking thing to witness, I was horrified enough watching it on my PC. Feel free to post them here, i'm going to bed so will take a look tomorrow.

My dad was thinking about taking me and him to go see it. I can't believe actually seeing it... Just unbelievable. I am just shocked.

R.I.P. Dan Wheldon

Sorry I haven't been active lately, I just moved back to iowa and I'm a bit in the country and I've just today found an internet provider but I have to wait until my next day off work to get it set up so I haven't even updated to 2.0 yet. Also im not confident it will be fast enough to host the US series so I will probably need someone else to set the rooms up.

I know you all are aware of the devastating loss of Dan Wheldon today. I've never experienced a loss that has affected me like it did today. I am a huge fan of the series and Dan and its still hard to bear that such an amazing driver, father, and contributor to the sport has been lost today. In honor of Dan, I propose that the US/UK final be scheduled for 77 laps along with a 5 lap memorial afterwards.

For the discussion about whether these types of cars should be on fast tracks like Vegas, remember that the IRL was born on ovals and there is a risk of an incident like today on any oval. The drivers are aware of the consequences and its unfortunate that these things happen but some things are out of the drivers control. Cars take flight no matter how safe they are, and when a car gets in the fence the damage is increased significantly whether it is open wheel or closed. No one particular person or organization is to blame for what happened today. But as difficult as it is losses happen. Unfortunately today it happened to one of the greatest guys in motorsports and Dan will be missed greatly.

A long but necessary post. Hopefully I will be able to be active by next week.

I'll sign on for that if there's space.

Perhaps at Indy, we should do a lap of honour in his memory?

Whats the schedule for the US Series? Tuesday Nights? 8pm cst? Date? I know I'm bad at this....I guess I am just impatient to read this morning. But I ran a few laps and I actually like the Comfort Tires:tup:

In the OP shouldn't we post up our car #'s??? I'm #83.......but I'm sure someone might want #77?

Or I can run #06 James Hinchcliffe if you prefer?? Since #83 is with Chipps Ganasi

Can't put numbers on these cars I don't think. We could only have them in the tables etc but don't really see the point to that :)

For all those interested I will be opening a room tonight at about 10:30 to do a 5 lap parade in honour of Dan Wheldon.

This will be set as a race to start at 11:00 BST and we will all run at 77 BHP (or closest possible).

I hope to see as many of you as possible.

Yeah I do think number's will be abit pointless since you can't put them on the cars. And anyway, it would just end in Knelly and Joe fighting over who gets Will Power's number ;)

I have updated the OP with + 1 lap on every race for the pace lap, and +6 at the Indy 150 and US 200 including the 5 laps of honor.

I'll try to make!

And BTW...who do I send a FR to? So I can race the US Series.....I have Knelly on my list but he's in the UK series.

Add LVracerGT 👍

You may want to add me aswell, as I'm likely to be hosting the pre season race we have at Spa :)

I think I'll use tonight to do my tyre tests for our first road course race (Tokyo reverse). I'll probably do the other road courses in the week before each of their races.

What I do is record the screen with a camera (don't have a capture card) while I test out both types of tyre on the track in online free run.

You can join me if you want, but I won't be stopping to type messages as that would affect the tyre temperature and possibly the results of the testing (especially since I go by how the car is handling and the laptimes). I'll probably have my headset on though, so I can talk (unless we develop incompatability while you're in the room, which happens sometimes).

EDIT: Yes cowboys, the orange FGT represents the Bryan Herta cars in this series (cars and team names are in the OP).

EDIT2: I may test something else first though.
