Hey guys, glad the series is picking up pace 👍
I have decided to run my exhibition race (indy 500 shortened) in memory of Dan Wheldon and just wanted to check if you guys are ok with me running this one off non championship race with your indy settings? Just tyres and weight/hp restrictions. What do you think?

That's fine with me personally, I'm sure the other guys would say the same 👍
And it might persuade some of your guys to give IndyCar a go if they get a taste for the ovals ;)

Cool, I thought it would be good. I have 3 of my lads interested already, I didnt notice your schedule was up. I will speak to them tomorrow.

Thanks a lot mate, if your guys sign up we're in the early 20's. This is looking great 👍

2 septic tanks and a toothless twit mate, bed now up at 0300 :(
I willl get them to post here, should be speaking to them tomorrow.

Enjoy school/college while you can gents, working for a living sucks! Night all or as we say in Llandow.....ciao for now.

Sorry guys. Won't be able to get on tonight after all.

Berty, thanks for your support and glad that you have the opportunity to test our settings with your guys. Have fun trying to pass with the shortened gear ratios and max speed ;)

+1 ;)

In other news, I've finished all of my testing at Tokyo R246 Reverse, and have already worked out my complete race strategy (barring cautions, though they'd probably help my strategy if anything).

That just leaves the other 3 road courses in the UK series, since oval races are too unpredictable to come up with a complete race strategy beforehand.

EDIT: All that testing took 2 1/4 hours. 2 hours was at Tokyo, and the other 15 minutes was testing the other thing that I mentioned earlier. I'll need to find 6 hours to test the other 3 tracks, and possibly even more when testing Spa for our pre-season race.

I can see myself being at a disadvantage here, I don't have time to prepare race strategies haha. I'll hopefully get some time over the half term week when I'm not revising for a GCSE test :(

EDIT: And I wouldn't take as long on the Spa testing Joe, it's not a points race and it's only going to be short. 15 laps or so with a mandatory tyre change and most probably no safety car. It's mainly just to test connections, race day schedule etc. 👍

I, as of now the only member of Target Chip Ganassi Racing team, have also made a first practice run in the streets of Madrid, the first race of US series. The car is very fun to drive on these specs, and I am hoping a very interesting and enjoyable series. I only thought there would be more people with a red FGT. One-man-army in this case is not very good!

I will add some names here in my PSN, or send a message in case someone has a full friends list.

Regards.

Edit: Following someone who mentioned this above, I must also say that this update was worthy only for the fact that FGT's have cockpit view. And it is very very good.

Edit2: This may not be the perfect place, but if any of you want a b-spec friend, I can use some drivers.

Don't worry mate, Berty said some of the guys from his FGT series are thinking of joining. I'm sure we'll both have team mates before the first race :P

Just bought the white and green, actually. If you could switch me!

If anyone here has the DLC (and me on their friend list), could one of you set the default track of your lounge to Spa? (My Home Settings (the button above the manual save)> My Lounge settings). I won't be able to get the DLC for a couple of days but have some free time tonight where I can work out transmission settings for our pre-season Spa race. If you do this, I'll be able to race/practice/test on Spa without you needing to be online.

I'll do it now 👍

Oh and do you think no safety car will be ok for this race mate? I'm only planning on it being about 15 laps to practice race procedure.

I'm guessing that no safety car would mean that the polesitter would lead us round on the pace lap and we'd either have no cautions at all in the race, or have the lead car act as the safety car for cautions. Either way it should work. We used the lead car as the pace car for cautions in a series I was in a while ago and it worked out fine (apart from when we couldn't hear the caution being called).

I suppose we'll probably have a pace lap and no cautions though.

EDIT: It worked, I'm at Spa right now.

Yeah that seems most likely, I doubt there'll be too many multiple car incidents in a 60 mile race anyway...hopefully.

The most I've hit is 200mph with our road course settings and full aero. With aero on minimum you can't take Eau Rouge flat out and the car has a lot of understeer and oversteer round the whole course, so I don't expect anyone to be using that. Anyways, this is the simplest transmission setting yet, since we usually use our "5mph rule". All you have to do is set the max speed at the bottom right to 205mph.

It's also easy to spin when exiting the pitlane and trying to keep 2 wheels within the pit exit line.

As for multiple car incidents, there's 2 or 3 places where there will probably be accidents on the first lap: La Source (first corner hairpin), the chicane that's at the end of the straight after Eau Rouge (don't know the names of all the corners), and the final chicane (I think it's still called the bus stop). These will probably be the 3 main places that there will be incidents throughout the race.

Ok mate, that sounds simple enough. It should be a decent race, pretty fun track aswell. They've re-created it brilliantly 👍

EDIT: And yep, i've found the aero setting where I can take Eau Rouge flat and stuck with that. It's still pretty high.

When is the pre season? I told those guys from the FGTC to check out your thread, hopefully some/all will be in touch.

It's probably going to be next tuesday or wednesday, which ever more guys can make. I don't think we'll be running a US and a seperate UK race, just a combined one 👍
