It shouldn't matter who the host is. If people have incompatibility they'll be invisible to each other and have loading bars under their names. If something is up with someone's connection they'll still have issues such as everyone else disappearing, or getting disconnected. I've gotten disconnected from my own lounge a couple of times before.

Fair enough, on my way. As I say though I've gotta get off sharpish, got an exam tomorrow and need to 'get some sleep'.

So Knelly is not racing in the US race? Just spotting for crashes. Who's job will it be to call a caution (him)? I think the wave around should just be automatic since the safety car period is only 2 laps. So just drive by if your ahead of the leader.

Sorry guys, missus won't go to bed till after Big Brother now

Don't worry, I'll be doing some practice laps there, and Tom will be inactive in the room until you arrive at about 11:00 .

I'd may as well practice the whole race, lap for lap.

Knelly won't be watching the US race at all, it's your job to decide when a caution is necessary Rich along with the help of your drivers via mics. If you see on the map 2 or more cars spinning out or collecting damage, call a caution. Or even just 1 car if it is blocking the track.

And as for the wavearound it's easier just to let everybody bunch up and then call it at the start of the first caution lap (when the safety car crosses the line). Saves confusion.

EDIT: I'm going to send PM's to all UK drivers and post up some essentials for the US race ASAP.

EDIT 2: Joe, just noticed we've become incompatible once again.

Road course cautions: when the caution is called, the 1st caution lap begins and the pits are closed (unless you were in the pits before caution was called). Once most/all drivers are bunched up to the safety car, the safety car gives the wavearound on this lap (if anyone is between him and the leader). A couple of corners before the safety car reaches the pits, he will announce that the pits are now open and everyone can pit.

The safety car crosses the line, beginning the second caution lap. Everyone catches back up to the safety car after pitting. a few corners before the start/finish, the safety car calls for everyone to go double file. The safety car then pulls into the pits at the end of the lap, and the race goes green again as soon as the leader crosses the start/finish line.

EDIT: Just saw that too, Tom. I'm still NAT 2 and nothing has changed, is your end the same?

Telemundo Indy Grand Prix of Madrid

Room open for practice at 20:30EST

Madrid Specs:
Power: 650hp
Weight: 725kg
Transmission: Reset to default, set max speed at the bottom right to 193mph, then put final gear at 4.295, 7th should be at 1.655.
Tyres: Comfort hards and mediums. You must drive at least 2 laps on each compound.
All other tuning: Unrestricted

Qualifying
Road Course: The track will be reset and you will have 30 minutes to post the fastest lap time possible which will determine your starting position, simple.

Pace Lap Rules
Form up in double file behind the safety car and follow it round the track in qualifying order.

Pit Lane Rules
On all tracks you have to slow down to 60mph before you enter the pit lane and the computer takes control of your car. You must have at least 2 wheels in the pit entry/exit lanes at all times.

Road Course Cautions
2 caution laps. Form up behind the safety car as usual but at 70mph, the first caution lap starts when the safety car crosses the line, at this point the wavearound will be called for cars between the safety car and the leader. The pits will be open for the end of this lap, once you have pitted, catch up to the safety car and go double file for the restart at the start/finish line. The leader gets a choice of the inside or outside line for restarts.

No problems as far as I can see, we're just going to have to hope for the best tomorrow. Hopefully getting my ethernet cable plugged in before the race should help.

EDIT: I'm gonna get some rest, stupid GCSE's :grumpy: I'll turn up an hour or so early tomorrow to iron out any connection issues mate.

I guess we'll see which of us has the connection issue when Knelly gets on. If it's you, you'll not see each other/you'll have a loading bar for each other. If it's me, he won't be able to join the room due to incompatibility with the host.

EDIT: See you tomorrow then.

Sorry I couldn't stay mate, tell me if you two have any issues. As I say I'll be online long before the race tomorrow to sort things out, if it means racing in a different lounge so be it.

And good luck to all our US racers, hope you get a good turnout LV and you sent all those PM's! :sly:

All FR's have been accepted, have fun guys, and please keep my room tidy when you leave ;)

Knelly joined the room and we're not incompatible, so I guess it was something on your end Tom.

I'm really unsure to what it is, will just have to see tomorrow when i'm all wired up.

EDIT: Would you guys object to moving lounges if things go pear shaped tomorrow? Selfish it may be but I really don't want to miss my own series :(

We'll have to try mine first as all are my friends, and wouldn't be able to get into yours without FR-ing you first.

I'll be on relatively early to test things with you though.

Just setting my Lounge Options now for the US series tonight. GOOD LUCK TO ALL PARTAKING 👍

Yeah I know it would be tricky and we're obviously going to try yours first. I've PM'ed the few UK guys we have and told LV to inform the US guys that they are welcome to join us. Even so i'm thinking they'll be 8 of us on the grid at the most, could be worse I suppose!

I'll be on very early aswell and will try and get in 👍

5 brave souls showed up for 100 miles at Madrid. :sly:

LVracerGT won with a time around 38 minutes for 30 laps. 1 caution.

5 out of 16? Wow how did that happen, loads of people didn't turn up. You did PM everybody LV?

Anyway, hope you guys had a decent race regardless 👍

LVGT was disconnected 2-3 times but eventually got in before qualifying. We started 10 minutes after the listed times, then somebody showed up at the last minute, forgot who it was. In my opinion you have a lot of very young players signed up who've failed to remember their in a series (and probably busy this time of year with high school finals to be starting up.)

Ronin, LastLeaffan, lesoldham, LVGT and somebody else....cant remember. We shortend the race to 30 laps since only 40% of the field showed. I sat and twiddled my thumbs which felt good since I've been playing F1 2010 alot on career mode this week (winning all the race with the Torro Rosso ;)). Trying to see how dominant I can be with no aids on Legend. I wont buy 2011 b/c the graphics are apparently horrifying.

Anyways the only real accident happend down in the hairpin. Just a silly thing, although I couldnt see what happend being parked a mile away and all. I think lesoldham crashed into the tire barrier I was hiding behind to try and make me bring out a caution (or he could have just made a mistake, dont know.) Anyways I didnt buy that I was in the way seeing as how my safety car had no damage and some tires moved on the little wall thing... :sly:

I remember with my Ferrari F1 series I had close to 21 signed up and we'd typically get 7-8 for the race. The seasoned Gran Turismo'ers tend to steer clear of open wheel/F1 stuff. I've never seen guys like Jav race F1.

As a whole GT5 online has diminished over the last couple of months......People are getting sick of the game, it lacks real world tracks. There's not enough road in this game. If we had all 19 F1 circuits, along with test course & all the old GT4 tracks it would be a killer game. But as it is very dry racing the same old tracks.

The course creator is a joke. This game is destined to fall without a LOT more DLC. Spa brought alot of people back in but the excitement has worn off.

Did anyone save the replay? I can look over it for any rulebreaking, such as disregarding our pit entrance speed limit, or not staying within the pit exit lines (if there are any at Madrid). If anyone remembers when the caution came out, I'll check that too.

I believe the late addition was RFLX_Niop who said that he was a reserve. I looked at the OP and he is no longer a reserve, has anyone told him?

Also I must say that it was a big disappointment having so few show up. I know Mechy arrived ready to go at 10:15 EST (must have forgot to change the clock on his game). This would be great with a full field.

I also learned that at the end of the race if I'm down a lap or 2 to go right past the pace car and continue racing. Is this right?

Niop is a reserve for Team Penske and eligible to drive in this. You will have no issues with him. Stand up guy and clean racer.

Where you finish Niop?

Most of the guys who signed up for the US seemed like pretty good racers. Are you sure you Pm'ed them LV? If you didn't I'll do it from now on 👍

Ready to go for the UK tonight, all my PM's have been received so I'm hoping for a grid of 8.

US racers are welcome to join in!

EDIT: As of now there are no reserve drivers after the recent dropouts.
