The Prelude was massively fast on the straight though.. i got eaten up there when you and carb was too close behind.

It was. But I was losing 3-5 tenths in the s turns just because of the understeer. I could match the Mazda in T1. And in T3 as well, but only on fresh tyres.

Once the tyres got worn it just understeered wide. :nervous:

I (the skyline) seemed to be fastest in the first sector.. always gained on Dax there, even the laps when he was catching a couple of tenths. :)

In race one I knew that feeling Marunda. I had to defend so much in the mid section to make sure Brandon in the Rx7 never had a chance to nip up my inside and luckily the few times he did I managed to just keep ahead.

I only kept Dax as he went off a few times allowing me to catch his draft before he would pull the gap back out. Then on lap 14 he weaved on the straight leaving me easy meat for Brandon to try pass into T1 but he slightly outbreaked himself and put me wide off the green. He waited and nearly got me in the mid section the same lap but I held on for 2nd.

Race 2, one word, Disaster.

Interesting, I could stay with you in the first corner as I seemed to be able to carry more speed mid corner than everyone else, I just lost you in T2 and T3. :(

EDIT: @Paul- I really hate understeer though. I much prefer a car to be oversteery as I can just balance that on the steering and throttle, but trying to cure understeer without ripping up the tyres is hard. :odd:

I got much faster in the second race though, learned how to do the last sector good and didn't miss the first one time ^^ The esses was still a bit scrappy though :P

I'm not going to be there next week. Don't have the DLC and It's right in the middle of my exams as well so I probably wouldn't have made it anyway. :(

I'll probably miss the the last tracks on the calendar. Summer starts and I won't be home those first weeks of the summer.

Guys, I want to run a Carroll Shelby Tribute Series using the Cobra 427 on Sports softs. (I may add the Shelby Mustang too as a 2nd class)

Would you prefer this on a Saturday or a Sunday?

Had a first try at Spa and did a 3:03.0 But wow this track is really one of those that don't suit me.. i just can't hit all corners right in the same lap.. good drivers should be down to 3:01 at least. maybe under 3 minutes? :embarrassed:

I can confirm in my tests I got 3:01s in the Rx7 ;).

Not surprised.. were they high or low 3:01s? I've got lot's of time to shave of my time still, hope i can get time to do it ahead of the race.

I had great fun racing with you all on Saturday. I really enjoy the Mazda and had some really fantastic battles with Dax and Paul, some of the best racing I've ever experienced. I think I had at least one instance with both of them where we went 2-wide through turns 1 and 2 and we both came out unscathed which is not something you find in every league. 👍 Of course there were also instances where I was trying too hard for the position and turns 1 and 2 didn't go so well, but it's so hard to pass at this track that I had to try something! I'm sure both Dax and Paul got very tired of seeing my RX-7 right on their bumper but it sure was fun!

Not sure if I'll be racing this week or not, qualifications for the Indy 500 are this weekend and I'm planning to go down for at least one of the days. If I go on Sunday (Bump Day) I'll be able to race with you guys, but if I go to Pole Day (Saturday) I won't be able to make it. I'm leaning towards going to the track on Sunday so I may very well see you all at Spa. 👍

Hope you show up. 👍

Not sure weather I will do a Saturday series straight away after this, but it will be a spec series. We usually get about 12 people and we get some veeery close racing. :)

And it was great battling with you too. :)

I thought you were just going to do the Shelby series for a bit. :odd:

Any series you do that's spec/tuning-prohibited I'll probably participate in. I don't run in series that allow tuning and it's very hard to find a group that runs with tuning prohibited. These classic JDM cars are great in their stock form, as soon as you start adding parts and adjusting the settings they loose their character and aren't as fun to drive.

Time/day might not work for me. I'll have to drive each car before I say for sure but I doubt these cars will do well with tuning prohibited due to lack of gear/top speed. I don't like bouncing off the rev-limiter down a straightaway when I'm trying to overtake. 👎 And like the other guy said, I'm not sure about that Cobra on SH tires, sounds like a tank-slapping nightmare! :nervous:

The GT350R is fine handling wise, no drama on the Racing tyres.

I tested the cars at a few tracks and the only track they hit the limiter on are tracks like Nurb 24H and Le Sarthe.

The Cobra isn't too bad, the Week 64 WRS event used Cobra's on Comfort Softs. THAT was fun. :D
