He answered my tweet:

Me: Here is a question from people at GTPlanet: Will it be possible to create point to point courses in the course maker? It would be awesome to race down a touge course...

Kaz: As there is a rally mode (With Point to Point courses), it's possible, of course. It now comes down to designing the "flow" of the game.

YES! Sounds like it'll come in a future update. The google translation said "Rally mode as is, Absolutely. What remains is how to make the flow of the game."

Lots of new features coming.

i take the "flow" part as like, with only one lap what can you do to make it last longer?

what would you do? do a u turn and come back? lol

LOL, "everything" will be added / fixed in a future update coming "soon".

Can't believe we still buy that.

I believe he's sincere in what he says, whether or not it's all possible is another matter. He wants the game to be just as great as we do, he wants YouTube uploading, point-to-point courses, smoother shadows... it's not like he's just shrugging it all off, it's a matter of time and resources.

Are they even attempting to add full functionality for G25/27 as he mentioned?

ETA on the wheel popping up in the menu would be great!

What about over 5 !!! years of development and over 60 million dollars?? Not enough time?

Youtube uploading doesn't sound like it's going to happen. And As Kaz mentioned, there are a LOT of reasons why the shadows aren't smoother. He wants to fix the Shadows, but don't expect them to get too much better.

But he's mentioned Youtube just took too much time to upload videos. It might come later, but it seems like it's low on the list. I'd expect it for GT6 probably.

Youtube uploading doesn't NEED to be a huge challenge, even if we had the option to export videos to XMB so we could upload via a PC it would be good.

It doesn't even NEED to be HD or rendered in HD, just have an option for it.

It doesn't even NEED to be a "per-race" video, what about lap by lap with multiple videos for longer races? What about the ability to cut the area of video you want, say, to show off an immense dift?

Considering Youtube upload is part of the PS3 SDK, I'm not sure what the issue is... hell, I uploaded Noby Noby Boy videos and it didn't take a million years.

Agree! 👍

Double agree.. it doesn't have to be a direct to Youtube option, just a moderately good looking AVI file, then i will upload it to Youtube myself..

Yeah I'm really liking my 70' Charger and Chevelle. Only thing is they top out at 124/114, however they sound awesome stock. I haven't beefed them up yet, just tires. It'd be nice to lower these cars as well, there ride height needs lowered. Happy Driving...

I'm all for sharing my content or replays but I'm more interested in getting more mods for cars and the HSV-SuperGT car from Honda. That thing is a beauty and a beast, and it won SuperGT this year.

👍👍👍

I already tweeted at him twice today about it. The HSV-010 GT is the reason I bought GT5. I suggest many more people ask him when it's coming!

I agree! Everything you say I have been thinking, I would be totally happy with being able to save a video as an avi file to the dashboard. You can then use the PS3's built in video editor to upload to YouTube.

Someone should ask him why they did things like having a car developed by a Formula 1 card designer just for the game - but they did't spent time on the design of the game itselfe (A-Spec Race Mode - what I consider the Main Part of the game)

Isn't that part of the official Red Bull sponsorship?

The problem is when your watching a replay you are not watching a video file. You are watching the game engine running again with the inputs to the cars recreated to show the events of the race again.

In order to do anything with a replay PD would need some way for the replay mechanic to create a video file.....and even if they did take the time and effort to find some way to take the game engine output and convert it to a video file it would run in real time. So to create a video of a 15min race you would need to sit there and wait another 15 mins for the video to be created.

At least that was my understanding of how the replay function works.

Can someone ask if the T500RS has 900º, a clutch and a 6+1 shifter.
It's got a clutch.
The H-gate shifter is sold separately.
I don't know about 900 degrees, but it's most probably got that.

Exactly, although at a lower resolution for youtube it could probably be rendered a bit faster. Something I'd prefer though would be a mix of photomade and replay where the replay could be rendered at a higher quality (HD res or even at a lower res for youtube but with photomode lighting/models) which would take considerably longer but would be worth it IMO, just leave it running when you're not using your PS3. (Could someone tweet that to Kaz?)
