La Sarthe and Spa ,weather report and other " stuff "

Yeah, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was understeering/ not steering at all. First corner for example, I steer left, the car goes straight
Did you lower the car ?

This sometimes happens when the front is too low, and the front wheels touch the body and won't stear...

Yesterday i try ( and ill never do that again 😂 ) the Porsche 56 model.
Rain caught me out at lap 3 but the problem is that this car can't be driven without using ASM and countersteering.

I restart the race 3-4 times cause i couldn't get the first turn, made some suspension settings but the same thing, under braking even in straight line the car wanted to turn around during the end even with brakes at -5 .
After the half of first lap i put the aids on just to finish the race.
My version was the swapped one .
All in all , dust , sweat and overheating tyres .
Thanks for the meeting miss 56 but ...... You can marry someone else.

I bought one, swapped it, "tuned" it, drove it once, and sold it.
Doesn't worth to bother with it .
Perhaps on lower pp it's a bit better ( which i don't think so) ..
If someone use ASM and countersteering, doesn't realise the true behaviour of the car since aids correct it all the time, without them you can see what it does, what want adjustments etc.
This car not worth attention anyway , is only for collector purposes.

Yes, I used this tune:

Only difference was that I only did stage 1 weight reduction instead of stage 3. So maybe that's the reason. More weight on the springs & dampers could make the car sit even lower.

I just bought a couple of Jags last night and used one for the Weekly Challenge at Brands Hatch. Rear was a little live stock form and it was fun. I ended using the Carrera 904 at LeSarthe and I think that might be my new favorite car for this race. I was able to get 7 laps at FM2. That car is a blast to drive for me. I used RH tires and the pp was like 648 or something like so you could probably use RM or RS and still be under 700 pp.

We are from the same planet or you came from another part of our galaxy ?
Outstanding effort mate , you didn't even use TC .
Haha! No definitely not an alien, I just like challenges but also don’t think physics are broken, any car is broken, useless or un-tunable.
Just understanding how the car reacts and how to tune to that is the hard part, but with knowledge that is easily found online for free you can get any car stable enough even with a pad controller(me) or an old Logitech to feel enough of the physics

Today after the " cold bath " that @AlexWilmot put us in 😂 i try to find a car that i haven't use .
First i bought a second McLaren spending 20 millions so i don't have to worry everyday how close am at 100 million to buy something.
After that i pick a swapped Subaru drift car .
Try to find some tune and the only one i found was from praiano but the aero in the back couldn't match, 450 vs 300 which is now.
Anyway ,i wasn't so happy with it ( the tune ) but the car .....oh boy .
Its fast and have perfect fuel consumption.
3.52 lap FM1 3 laps on AT , other settings on FM o didn't use yet but the car is so powerful that tyres want change after 3 laps at least at FM1.

Ill be back on that one but my advice is to try it .
Its a great race car , just need proper tuning to give his maximum " pleasure " and not as is set for drifting.

What was the lowest PP car you guys have won the race on hard difficulty so far?

For me it's the engine swapped Beat which I used for the first race today:

1000010245.png

Although I have to admit that heavy rain was my friend here and I don't think I could have won a dry race. While top speed, brakes and fuel economy are good, acceleration and corner speeds are subpar and the car struggles a lot at the turns at the end of Mulsanne.
Anyway, funny little car, fun race!

For the second race I used the engine swapped M3 '03. Good car for a rather relaxed grind. Speed, acceleration, fuel economy, everything's fine. Easy and good to drive. I just wish the sound would be better.

I used the second one you posted. Maybe it's because you have weight reduction stage 3 and I just have 1? Could this be a factor? It felt very understeery and also was quick to spin.

BTW: Do you use a controller or a wheel? Could that make a difference also?
It could make a difference, also I use all the driving aids at max, that might be it. I use a controller not a wheel.Try it with the aids on
,as I say that might be a factor.

It’s a challenge no mistake, not many cars on skinny tyres and no aero can do a sub 4 minute lap of Le Mans!
Brother I’m am A/S driver if I can drive it than others can too,

I think it’s a challenge to work out how the car reacts and what corresponding tune to apply is the trick…
Instead of blaming older logitechs and/or physics of the game and conning people out of their money

I have never took to using steering wheels, maybe its cos i am an old fart.LOL

Yesterday did one race with Subaru drift car .
I went all the way FM6 that gave me full 5 laps .
Here it is tyres condition after 5 laps before enter at pits .
IMG_20231216_170327026_HDR.jpg

Isn't the best scenario to pit at 5th lap due to tyre wear but 4 is still ok.
Rain was coming so i switch to intermediate tyres and end with a 6 laps race in the wire.
Times are not represent cars potential since i did many mistakes and serve few penalties.
So we have 3 full laps at FM1 and 5 at FM6 witch means the car is one of the most versatile cars in his class.
Today ill have more time to experiment settings and race it again.
I don't know what class is this car , gr3 or gr4 or whatever but definitely its a " winner" .
Ill be back with more info .

PS
I suspect that if @AlexWilmot put his magic hands in this swapped beauty might brake the barrier of 3.50's or close enough.

Oh how I miss San Francisco...

I took my 356 Carrera, gave it everything except the engine swap and was very determined to do LeMans. I tried it with stock suspension and it was all over the place and the only way I could tame it would be to add a bogload of ballast up front (totally ruining any speed being a 1500 kg car). Then I added the full racing suspension and fiddled with the settings to alleviate some weight transfer issues (which f did help).
As for the braking, I figured out to brake little early and not to push past 2/3 pressure on brakes or you WILL lock up the wheels and start to slide and become unstable with weight transfer. The 356 handles better on RM tyres than RS. The RS tyres tend to make the car too sensitive and twitchy for my liking.
My settings are below. I got 4 laps on FM1 which I believe is acceptable.
As for the race(s), the one I had completed was for all purposes was a dry race with only light rain in the 5th lap, and I had to go the full 60 miles of 7 laps to win for it is not the fastest but being light it can do 100+ mph in the Porsche curves.
Overall is acceptable and a handful if you are hard on the brakes. ENJOY

Try one race with the Subaru this morning i face rain , heavy one , that caught me out at late stage of lap 3.
Trying to be conservative as i can to reach the pits i received this penalty without even pass the track limits 😂
Just because i loose control , new era of PD penalties system ?
It's the first time that happens.

It's a penalty for... all your career :dopey:
I think your car have - for a very short instant - more than 2 wheels off the limits.

I don't know 3 or 2 but is very harsh this one .
Was just a momentary loose control and after all didn't see any blood somewhere 😂 .
It's from those moments that going out completely might earn 2-3-4 penalties at once and earn more than 30 seconds delay.
I think my record is 32.5 till now with one off.

Another run at FM1 this time but the weather spoil my plans once again.

I also try it without swap but when i realise that can't do only one lap 😵‍💫 at FM6 , i quit.

Very good car the swapped version

@bigmull
Picked up the Ferrari 550 Mondial, gave it a lot of TLC, and took it to the track. Nothing extraordinary in its handling but that it is a smaller, lighter car than the others in the race you need to be careful when one taps you, you can go way out of control. As with these older cars you should brake early and not heavy as to lock up the wheels. Fuel mileage is good as I could get 3 to 4 laps on FM1, the car can be competitive at FM6 but you will struggle a bit trying to get in lead.
The race was a good one, started raining in lap 3 and finally ended in 5 with accumulation almost to stage 3. As all in all I had to change tyres twice and doing so I extended my pit time by choosing my tyres late so I would only have to run 6 laps overall.
The Ferrari handled well, the tyres lasted longer as RMs was barely in the red when I pitted at lap 3. The fuel mileage was great for 3-4 laps at FM1.

This is one of the best cars in the game. I get just over 5 laps of fuel and RM will last the race as well,it hits over 160 mph and easily outbreaks and out corners modern cars,it might take 2 laps to get in first place without going to FM1,you should check out my tune for it, I think you will be surprised how good this car is. I have driven over 1.5 k miles in it and it still makes me smile.

Funny how you can drop a Nissan engine in an Italian car and it goes like smoke...18c7d9e0e6a33-27720657D01D4B63844.315B375F96579043_message_435938004008117_1702882828156.jpg
Had this sitting in my garage gathering dust and didn't realize I had put a new engine in, upgraded the transmission and brakes, gave it new suspension and little aero work and she ran fine in the WTC700. 3 laps easy at FM6 and RM tyres lasted long.
