Ok here is something I find very helpful to me, when running this race, we know the rains "should" be arriving at end of second lap. What I do is activate the weather radar and expand the view to maximum 31 miles, you should see if there are rain clouds near or far to judge if you can do an extra lap on the race slicks before the rain really hits, for example: if at the end of lap 2 I see rain in the radar inside that center circle, I jump in pits and change, if the clouds are way out of that centre circle I can chance a third lap.
So to get the best use out of the weather radar you should zoom out to maximum distance, you will get a better idea of when the rains will come and you can see the heavy spots of rain easier.
Also if anyone had noticed the rain in the weather map moves mostly to the northeast regardless of the wind direction on the map in upper right corner....
