What is your Gran Turismo game file composition like, and how filled up is it ?

Anything above 97% and your might be struggling... Game file usage impacts graphical memories
What does that mean and how can you find that out/change it?

Mine has the same delay @skydragon49 talks about, although "1 or 2 seconds" sounds fast compared to some of the delays I get sometimes...

I don't know if it happens with the PS5 version, but on PS4 when I go to my garage and I select a car with a style (doesn't matter if it's a ultra complex livery or a simple paint job) it takes a second or two for the car to be displayed with the chosen style.

That bugs me a lot, because of that I kind of quit doing liveries or even painting my cars. I'm leaving them as they originally are.

Hence my interest in some cars with some specific color options. So I don't have my nerves triggered by that small delay. 😅
Not sure how it is related to this topic, but sometimes I have the same "issue" on PS5, the car loads without livery and half a sec later the livery appears.

And it happens also on the list of cars to sell, when I browse it to find my doubles or the loosy car the roulette just gifted me to sell it, sometimes my cars with a livery on just don't appear immediately, if I scroll the list fast, I have a lot of "holes" in the list. If I stop scrolling and pause for a second, the thumbnails of the cars with a livery appear.

@CTznOfTime : your explanation makes sense, how do we "defragment" the game file ?

@Lomic we were talking about painting the legendary cars vs keeping the original paint. I said I prefer keeping the original paint because of this little loading delay. 😐

@CTznOfTime how do I check my game file composition?

@Lomic and @MidnightRun85

You have to go to Option in the top left corner.
On the first left most page of the option
Scroll down the bottom left corner
And you will see your GT7 game file composition.

Remove enough items to increase your available free space for the game to operate smoothly.

You want to have at least 10% available free space.
Overtime, the game operational need will slightly grow, so you will have to come back here and check.

I always struggle when my fill rate is above 96%.
Scroling through my 600+ customized car garage is always a struggle.
Learn from me, and avoid being a pack rat.

But I can't help it, I want to save my replay files locally forever, but they force me to always share online even if I don't want to.

So sad i Can't save my replay files infinitely.

For over 2 years my file fill rate is constantly 99.9% because i refused to offload my replays online.
I don't need to sticking share them systematically.
I just want to do my solo player game offline.
I hate always online game, big brother.

Game file composition at 34.3%...

Livery lagging when loading a car :

Car thumbnails lagging when custom livery applied :

Ok, so many not then.... Weird...

Cleaning my game file seems to work for me....

Next theory: maybe it's the Internet connection

Why Can't I save my replay files infinitely??!???
You S*"'@$ Kaz !

Sadly PD and Kaz doesn't allow us to keep replays :(
I hate them for it.
Direct your "hate" appropriately. The file size limit is a cap implemented by PlayStation. No game save file can exceed 2GB, on any game on PS3, PS4, or PS5. It has nothing to do with PD or Kazunori Yamauchi.
Ok then never mind, I know nothing, carry on...

I stand very much corrected, thank you for the reminder my good Sir. I let my frustration get the better of me.

Post corrected. Apologies to Kaz too.
