Considering DiabolicalJ is my best friend and I have seen how badly Wii has whooped up on us Capp Cup guys, I second this :sly:. All in good fun of course.
Don't worry, I'm going to try and handicap myself a little this season for a challenge. I haven't done much car testing yet, but I plan on choosing something slow but unique and see how well I do with it :)

Also Diabolical will probably get his chance to race with us if he's patient. We usually end up losing a few people by the end of the season due to various reasons, so he'll get his chance to race 👍

Lol, I believe Kaz is watching our thread. The Online Dealership has been updated with Lemons cars...

I just looked at them. They are all Japanese (but then again, I guess so is the game, really). I'll be buying them all, just for the fun of it. And the 0 mile Rufs.

Mwahahah perfect... World War II has taken over the Lemons series.

Deutschland wird diesen Krieg gewinnen.

Deutschland hat aber leider den Krieg schon verloren :P

I kind of like the old Civic and Mirage. They are junkers, but I'm wondering if the reward system could keep them in contention each race. I'll have to check the transmissions and see how they do as parts are installed before I make my final choice. Back-up plan is to run the Isuzu 117Coupe.

I also need to see the course selection before I make my final decision.

This could be much more conversational. It reads a bit heavy auf Deutsch. I can, however, appreciate correct usage of the Accusative case. War is the object of Germany's losing and therefore der goes to den.

Oh how I miss Germany... :(

Leider Dabney, aber wenn du ein Jude. Die ghia werden dich töten.

Entschuldigung **sniff snifff** I smell Babelfish at work. Es tut mir leid Bowtiekid. (Actually I'm not as sorry as that last clause would lead a German to believe, but it flows so well. A favorite of smart alecs a world over, the insincere, sincere apology.

Was there any starting PP penalty for a 0 mile car? I dont know that there is an advantage to a 0 mile car compared to a rebuilt one (dont know because I haven't compared).

The only difference (that I know of) is that a 0 mile car will slowly gain hp as the engine breaks in. To counteract this last season 0 mile cars were given a 5pp penalty at the start of the season. The only other option is to put in around 200 miles on the car which should break in its engine, which is what I did last season.

I'm looking forward to running with another (couple?) Canadians.. I'm gonna make sure the anthem is ready for when either of us take the checkered flag. ;)

...you know - the HNIC theme song...

Yikes. I cheated earlier and had a german type my response for me, but I figured that out without the help of google. Actually, I may be reppin' old Deutschland myself. ;)

Lol, google translate is the bomb.

But back to the thread. How many races are we doing? Because it makes a huge difference in our strategies.

Garris needs to publish the track list. It really makes a difference in my vehicle selection. Handling requirements, top speed requirements, etc.

7, just like last season. And the schedule is in the first post. I'll post the track list later today.

But, here is a question about the schedule: I wanted to skip the week of Thanksgiving and the week of and after Christmas. I skipped the week of Thanksgiving, and that puts the last race on the week of Christmas. If I skip two weeks, that means we have a race by itself.

So, should I not skip the week of Thanksgiving? Should I leave it like it is, skipping the week of Thanksgiving but still holding a race on the week of Christmas? Should I skip the week of Thanksgiving and the week of and after Christmas?

I say:

Skip Thanksgiving (I'll have some important stuff to do besides just eating, and it's a busy week overall for me.)

Skip christmas, and have the race on the 3rd of next year. Would be great if we could do it on the last day of 2011 but I know that is a stretch for most. So I think the 3rd, and having it kick off our 2012 year would be great.

What happens when we miss races? Do we just miss out on points and credits for that week? I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to fly to Phoenix twice between now and December and I'll likely be leaving on Mondays both times.

I'm a member of the BT Club* anyway, so I'm not expecting to be in contention for a podium spot, but I was just wondering how it works.

You get 0 points and 5,000 Cr.

You can, however, try to have someone stand in for you. You send them your car and they race it for you.

That sounds good. With a stand in, you at least get a couple points and a chunk of cash. I'll hit up a reserve driver once my schedule is finalized.

I like the schedule as its laid out on the first page... Gives us the chance to start a fresh series in january, and we can do some fun races over the holidays.

I'd say keep it as-is.

I've published the track list. Like I said, it was based on votes.

1) I'm glad Indy got more votes than Daytona. I don't like Daytona.
2) I am including a sprint night. We'll see how it goes.
3) There are not enough time/weather change courses. Monza didn't get many votes, so I've kept La Sarthe on the schedule. It is not the final race, and it is only weather change, not time change.
4) I don't know if anyone is interested, but I'm always interested in making the last race 90 to 120 minutes. I know that can disadvantage the FFs on tire wear, so it probably isn't a good idea.

I voted for Le Sarthe and will continue to vote for it every season from now till the end of GT5! I knew it was a translation tool! German has too many cases and changing artickels for a computer to rightly figure the subject/verb agreements and conjugation.

I knew you would, the computer translator can not do the greatest job. I noticed it when I used it for Spanish class (Yes, it's wrong....). I would translate it, and then double check with Google and notice, that the computer sounded like a little kid. But I know some languages have their own special words. German for example...
