yep! Weekly race series. What you might be more interested in would be the OMRS (Online Monthly Race Series), which is more towards what I was trying to compare against. WRS is solo time-trials.

There's a push to try and get some ad-hoc racing going based on the WRS combos, but hasn't been quite as successful as it could/should be.

Well, if we did two classes, maybe one could just be open, and one could be either same make, or very similar: Like, the same size engine, maybe even the same drive layout (all FF).

Or they could simply start at different PP levels. One starts at 385 and one starts at 410, or 435, or whatever.

If we were going to do two classes, I would want both to be challenging. I would be more interested in a 325 or 3500pp class then I would a 400pp class, as by the end of the season the 400pp car will be at 450pp+ (for everyone, we have a few in this season at that pp now.) I think you should do a 350 (or 325) and a 385, to make sure that we never get any crazy fast car's by the end of the year, as that would be a mess on La Sarthe. Even if you did a staggered start, you would still by about lap 6-7 having 500pp+ car's racing past the 420pp and causing crashes.

Besides, this is Lemons, you can't really have a super fast lemons race car, just doesn't sound right.

Yeah, I was thinking we could do a lower power class, starting at 325-345 and keep the upper class the same.

Alright... So what's going to be the winning strategy? Need to make sure I stay on top of these things! Will it be similar to last series, and go rain intermediates for a few laps until we break out the RHs?

Honestly, I would stick with RI's and just run the whole race a second or two off pace, I would try not too pit.

My strategy.

1. Avoid the early race accident on Dunlop Curve.
2. Avoid the tire wear related offs on the spoon from drivers who were overly aggressive through 200R.
3. As soon as I feel the rain has stopped....pit for tires.

Sweet..so I'll do some race-time testing, and then go balls-out. That always works for me. ;)

Alright, so it seems that my PS3 has bit the dust and I really can't afford a new one right now. It's way out of warranty by now since I got it at launch.

I obviously can't race tonight, and unless some miracle occurs I'll be withdrawing from the rest of the season

Hope to be back for next season, have fun out there.

NO! Damnit sleight, I was really hoping that you could race, you were some awesome competition. Hope somebody can hook you up!

yeah...no rain next season.. I hate that. By lap 18 I was really moving, but until then it was painful :(

God dangit. I am so mad. My internet completely went haywire right when i was ready to race. I spent an hour trying to fix it, and nothing would work. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

Yes, that was a shame.

Thank you for the help with the transmission. To share with you the drama last night (or as much as I can from my perspective):

The plan was to set to rain at race start. Regrettably, changing the weather kicks everyone off of the track, which would invalidate qualifying.

As we are kicking around the idea of starting the race to get everyone's grid position, back to the lobby, start the rain, enter the pits in order, and then start the race, someone trips the start race.

Fine, we'll just start the race. Except... I was planning on going back to the lobby, so I had put on RHs just to see what they were like on the damp track. I don't know who else had the wrong tires (set to wet expecting us to start in the rain, for example). So, we back to lobby. Which was fine, the starting grid was hosed anyway.

I start the rain, and everyone just jumps back into the pits, in no particular order. I even entered last, but it didn't put me last on the restart. We start in the rain, and there was not a big melee in the first corner like I was expecting.

The rain only lasted for about a lap and a half. But, the track stayed wet nearly the entire time. I was not planning on a no-pit strategy, but in the end, that's what I did, on intermediates.

The first half dozen laps, though, I was, as expected, epically slow. People could beach, spin out, hit the wall, watch me pass them, then catch up and pass me back. Even getting up to 8th at one point, I was quickly back to 12th.

As track conditions started to improve, my car started to get faster. And others started risking racing hard tires. The track wasn't that dry. Some stayed out on wets too long, and I was able to pass them.

Hellraiser even drove the wrong way on the track, and thus had to park.

I think by the end of the race, we had four cars parked along the front straight. I finished 5th, just seven seconds behind Cujo. He was just five seconds, I think, behind Miata.

Umm, I could've told you that. I figured you would reset the track 10 minutes before the start to force everyone to qualify in the rain. Oh well. Perhaps the rain will be more cooperative at le Sarthe with time change enabled.

Are we doing weather and time at La Sarthe? I didn't realize that. Interesting.

PD messed up he weather model. They should've made it more like time. I give it a start condition, I give it a chance of rain, and I give it a time progression.

Your welcome for the transmission, does that mean I get my 20k? :D Or do I have to get 5k? I was going to park this race anyways lol. I told diabolic not too follow me, as I was just going to park on the first turn and watch the race.

Oh, and next season, I think there should be a rule that if you don't run at least 3/4 of the laps, you get DNF'd, and no cash/points.. That would prevent that type of sandbagging.

If you don't want to run, don't start, and take the DNS median winnings.

Very entertaining race. Had I pit two laps early I think I would've won. I chopped 20 sec off per lap after pitting. Another 5000. What to buy.... Might just save it.

I pit way to early. First time ever I've been in a race with wet weather that lasted 20+ laps. I hedged my bets pitting on lap 13 assuming the track would dry sometime soon. Guess the humidity was a bit high on course. When it finally dried on lap 21, my four last laps were my fastest. Even with the damage from MMK, I was able to run 2:27s on fading Hards on laps 24 and 25. Had the race been 1 lap longer, I would have had Garris. Two laps longer and Cujo and I would have had Miata. I'm still a bit peeved about his strategy. I asked last week about his braking and never got an answer. I was several seconds faster each lap but was never given the opp. to pass. I couldnt go risk two wide in the rain and he knew that so he went 12 mph through the corners and just used his cars speed on the straight to get back ahead. I despise that logic. Had he let me by...he may have been able to draft me and we could have both moved up. I am going to take a beating this week in the MGF. 6th place again so I can afford the high RPM turbo to have a chance at LeMans. I'll be at 80 pts, probably 10 up on whomever jumps on podium, but my car will have a lot more power and not require a pit. Plus we'll have to race at night. Finally.

I've actually been thinking about this. And I think an encourage people to race approach would be better than a penalize people who don't.

10th down get the same points and the same cash. I've parked for a race this season. There were 15 or 16 cars on the track at the time. I would have to get from 15 or 16 to 9th for it to matter. I might've been able to get a few positions, but not that many. And in the meantime, I'd just wreck the leaders trying to lap me.

I think something that will help is if we split the field to two classes, and there are no positions that have the same points/cash. Every single position matters.

What type of tires did we start the race with? It would be nice to know in case there's another rainy race. Also, why were some drivers just sitting on the side of the road? Were they disqualified?

You started on whatever tires you had on when you entered the pits from the lobby.
