Just a reminder, you can not use engine limiting or ballast to get below 385 PP.

I'll send my car specs when I get home in a couple hours. I know it has window weight reduction, lol.

I'll have my car choice sent to you in a bit. Just need to get home and see what upgrades bring it to 385.

Yes, 30 laps.

And seems today is the first of our schedule server maintenances. I don't know if this one has a patch associated with it. Try to launch GT5 early, just to make sure you can get on and get patched up before the race.

The race is in just a few hours. I am missing car details from BTK, Diabolic, sl3ight, and Vitin. Bowtie did tell me his two cars a while ago. I just need to know which he is running in this series and which parts are installed.

I expect Bowtie, Diabolic, and sl3ight to show up tonight, so I'm really not worried about them.

Vitin? You going to make it?

Last I checked, about an hour ago, the maintenance was still going on. We've had two earthquakes in the States today. I hope no one was hurt and everyone has power.

That earthquake was awesome.

I'll have you my car details in like 10 minutes.

More fun for me; the epicenter was less than 40 miles west of here.

Damn man. Everything good down there?

I was sitting in my living room wondering why my couch was moving when I started getting txts from my friends asking if there was an earthquake.

My sis is in Baltimore. She got sent home from work. Said it felt like a truck smashed into the office building. They evacuated because they weren't sure of the structural integrity of the building.

Yeah, I work in downtown Richmond and most of the large buildings down here are relatively modern, but there are a lot of older buildings with some bricks missing and the like. We were at lunch during the quake; the cook and waitress were out the door before we knew what was going on.

Yes, I'll be there. I will send you my car as soon as I get home. In about an hour. Please FR to B0BKAT_A-1. See you guys then.

Silly people and their big cities on the eastern seaboard. No shakes here in Kentucky :D

I'm only settled on my Wednesday car. I'm doing my last top speed checks for tonight in a short while.

Just wanted to give folks a reminder. I won Sarthe both days last season with cars that topped out at 168 and 167 MPH. Not before the chicane, in general, that was their top speed. This season we should have less to spend on the cars (with more people on track finishing and less $ for bagging) so it might be that a max of 170 would win out this season as well. (Note, these speeds did not involve a transmission upgrade)

If anyone is wavering on car choice because the they are topping out in testing..it could be alright. The car that went 168, only went 147 at 375PP so parting up did increase top speed.

The first earthquake today was in Colorado.

I did lead for several laps in a car that would go faster than anyone else down the straight. I think don't wreck is much more important than how fast you go.

That, and the Talon eats tires. Really though, I was fighting for two stops when everyone else was on one stop. Now that the race is 1/3 shorter, we should all be on one stop, so the FFs won't be quite as handicapped this season.

Can't make pre season tonight. I'm guessing you got my corrected car choice garris?

Have a fun race!

Well, my PS3 overheated and shut off I reckon. lol. I got second, I'm extremely happy since I'm outclassed in every way. I'll be in the 1.51's at Laguna Seca. Night boys, I'll share my car tomorrow night!

If that preseason's any indicator, I'll have one helluva souped-up car and still finish dead last in the standings. :P

Well, me and my little yellow MR-2 will see you all in Monterey next week.

I hope I have your car correct.

I've updated the leaderboard so all the cars are published.

Please, double-check the parts that I have listed, and share your car. Mine is shared, and will be all week. I have a spare that I use for testing (that way I can put on parts just to test them).

Good times.. a little too much chit-chat from the #2 car for most of the race. :P

Not used to hearing a prepubescent voice on the speakers...hope you can keep racing once school starts again hellraiser! ;)

I kept everyone on mute except Garris. Tons of jabber drives me nuts when I'm just trying to stay focused and concentrating. Hope I didn't piss off anyone TOO much with my driving. Really not used to driving with others online. Enjoyed it very much :D

Yeah, I may have to consider muting everyone other than Garris next time, I'm sure the background chatter didn't help me.

Thought you were talking about me for a second!

Also, everyone but Cujo, and Diabolic mute me. I talk the whole race, because I drive better when I'm talking.

I don't jabber often, but I"m sorry. I'm occasionally talking and you can't hear the other half of the conversation. Or occasionally apologizing.

I new I was going to be slow, but I was hoping to do better.

In practice, I was able to maintain 1:58s comfortably. I had gotten to a 1:56, but I didn't want to wreck. At the start of the race, though, I was only doing 2:00, on a good lap.

I had gotten up to 10th place a couple of times. That means four others were wrecking enough to fall behind me.

They were fast enough, however, to easily make back the time.

On lap 14, I was in 14th, and hadn't wrecked once. My tires were at 95% and should've been able to make it the rest of the race.

Trying to find the 1:58s, I tapped a wall on lap 15. That was a pit stop that I didn't really need.

After the pit stop, though, I was able to find the 1:58s. Not that it really mattered.

At one point Dika was following me. I'm sure he could've passed me. I went a little wide in a turn, giving him every chance to pass me. I tapped the wall. It wasn't that big a todo. It was very late and the race, and I wasn't likely to gain a position.

The problem was, I bounced off that wall and into Dika. As a result, I probably cost him a space.

Durandal, in a couple spots I was chasing you, it looked as if you fell asleep. The back stretch before the technical section, you nailed that inside guardrail, and I had no chance of slowing down, so I pushed you into a drift. My apologies on that, just wasn't expecting it. Atleast I didn't get damage from the incident.

I dont mind the chatting but once I heard someone mention me and thought "what did I do?". It was right before the corkscrew, so I got distracted and hit the wall hard. I got a little nervous because I didn't know what to do and decided to turn around and get into pits. Thats when BTK almost run into me. Luckily, he didn't and passed me safely. Sorry if I cost you some time, BTK.
I drove the best I could considering it was my first online race trying to keep in mind the rules. There were many times when I gave away my positions to others because I wasn't sure if i did something wrong or not.
All in all, it was real fun. It made me think a lot and would like to see the replay if someone has it. I'm not sure how that works online.

You can save the replay after the race. When in the lobby, there is a podium button along the bottom. That screen has the save recording button.

Huyler isn't in this series. He was posting videos online last season.

In theory, I can do the same. I have a nice little video camera, but I absolutely hate the idea of a camera taking a picture of a screen, a picture of a picture.

In theory, I could also pipe my PS3 through the TiVo. I'll have to see if that works.

Interesting racing, much broader range of driver skill this season. Accident aviodance will be crucial. The fto ran well. I am very worried about that talon as it seems to be several laps better on tire wear. I feel laguna will suit the FF cars pretty well, hopefully a top 5 there, although it must be said I have no idea how some cars finished where they did last night. I shoulda saved the replay.

@ Pyxen

I tried to run you down but just blew the tires scraping the wall trying to gain exit speed

Also, I believe BTW might've mentioned this during the race but it needs repeating. If you are a lapped car and two cars fighting for position come up on you you really should let them by. It won't be as common with the other tracks we'll be running (although autumn ring jumps out) but just a common curtousey. Nothing worse than being damaged by a car laps down when fighting for position.

Re: lapped cars:

Most of the time, a lapped car can sacrifice a few 10ths to let other cars by...and then make it back up via drafting for a lap. However, there are times when other lapped cars are trailing the leaders so watch your rearview closely to see who it is that's coming up. You want to make room, but you don't want to lose a position to a sneaky opponent. best thing to do is move off the driving line and ease off the throttle well before the next turn. Don't brake hard early...because the other driver might not be ready for it. Just lift off the throttle and let them gently pass you. Don't fight the position afterward either. If they make a minor mistake getting around you, give them a chance to recover instead of trying to gain your lap back.
