I don't understand the balance of this car. It's FR but the weight distribution is like an MR. Makes the car tricky.

I recommend this seasonal be done with the LFA Nurburgring edition just because of that little extra bit of downforce provided on the car. (The LFA '10 is still usable though). Then drop the weight! Doing this will improve the car in all areas, acceleration, braking, cornering etc.
Power tuning can go 2 ways, slight tune up to 580pp or fully tuning and then decrease the power using the limiter (I think this way is better as torque will be better).
Good Luck!

I used the Nurburgring edition on one profile, & the LFA on the other. In both cases it felt like I was herding cats. I would guess better tires would remedy many of the critters ills. They will slowly drift to the bottom of the garage for me, unless they make us drag them out again.

This was kind of a tricky seasonal starting out, but my first clean lap beat gold by two seconds. I had to restart about three times, mainly because I went into the first corner too fast and drifted right off, but as I got used to the car's behavior, it really wasn't that complicated to maintain control for the rest of the lap.

At over 1200kg with all the weight reduction done to it, it's certainly no Lotus Elise, but with some patience and good throttle control, this car is definitely capable of snagging gold. Actually kinda reminded me of my old GT1 days when I bought the MA70 Supra and neglected to do the weight reduction in favor of more power, and boy did I have to slow the car down a lot in corners to keep the thing from going off on the other side.

Here's the tune I used by @AngHell, with a few changes to fit in with the regulations of the trial. (ABS of 1, tuned to 580PP, and Sports Hards)

Thanks for the tunes guys. Both posted here were far more pleasant to drive than others I've tried, including those of other well-known tuners.

Thought I'd do a quick comparison and comments on these. . .
I ran both with ABS 1, Active Steering Strong, and no TC or other aids

For anyone who is struggling with DS3. Here is my LFA '10 tune

With this tune I was pretty easily able to get gold. I posted a best of 1:32.82 (on a DS3, and I'm no great driver) after roughly 5 laps. I ended up modifying the following:
Toe to -0.06/-0.02
Brakes 6/5
LSD 5/5/15
Final gear 3.350 (to squeeze every drop out on that straight)

And that felt better to me, but I'm sure that has some to do with driving style. . . It seemed to turn in a little better and come out of turns a little more under control that way. Either way, it's a good, stable tune and I'd highly recommend it as a good place to start for anyone having difficulty with this unruly car.

--------------------

I managed to put down some laps, did a 1:29:622. My tuning is included at the end of the video. The car is quite a handful on these tires, but once you get it right you can go fast!

^This tune got me a 1.31.85 (and I made no modifications) after roughly another 5 laps. It's a bit more tail-happy, I'm sure due to the difference in weight distribution, but (at least in my hands) it is capable of a slightly better time (1 second better) if you can keep it under control or the right breeze hits you.

Thanks again guys

Funny thing about this seasonal: I golded it on my first complete lap; yet it was one of the challenges where I spun the most - it must have been something like 20 tries.

Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package '12; DFGT; lots of tuning parts (but no fine-tuning afterwards).

I thought the "LFA" has a pretty good suspension stock, but then I read the event description and put a fc suspension on. What a waste of time. After a long battle I put the stock suspension back, got rid of the LSD too, and eventually got a ~1:33. Not before doing a rigidity restoration and oil change though. I had WR2 so not the highest power rating.

Most work to get gold in a seasonal that I can remember.

Here is the other Lexus. I managed to get gold on the first run just by keeping it on the track. Very easy gold with this car.

Keep this car on the tarmac and you'll get gold very easily on the 580PP Lexus seasonal. Without pushing this car and having a bad first corner, I got a 1.33.4xx.

Really, REALLY loved this race!!!

Man, I actually had laughing fits as I went into some of the corners with WAAAAAYYYYY to much speed and whooops, thar she goes!!!

Talk about actually having to DRIVE the course!

Great stuff - thanks, PD.

Took me a bit to get gold. Me likes!

Those of you struggling try with rear bb set to 0 helps a bit to keep under control and try 50/50 weight distribution

Well sure dante_3_16 it doesn't mean it's good but it doesn't mean it's bad either. I'm positive that the car IRL doesn't come with tires that have more grip than SH tires in the game.

Allow me to say a few things here if I may in regards to this car and tire combo. And before I do, just let me say that this is not a knock against any one person, group of people, or any certain skill set of people. Ok, look, just because a car don't stick to the track like a slot car doesn't make it bad, nor does it make for a bad event just because of the tires used. Yes, this car is really slippery on these tires. But don't make that into a negative. Challenge yourself and really learn how to drive. Having the lack of good grip as this combo does, it will really teach you good throttle and brake control, along with precise steering inputs. Use this to your advantage and learn from it. I always practice on CH and SH tires, depending on the car, and that has helped be reach the skill level I am at now. By practicing/running on these types of tires, then when you actually run on tires with more grip, you will then have the necessary skill inputs to be even more successful on the more grippier tires than you were before. Its like back in my athletic days. For instance, when I was in track in high school, I used to practice running in waist deep water at the beach. By doing that, with the waters extra resistance, it help develop my leg muscles and such which improved my time on land at track meets. I used this type of "extreme training" in everything I did. You all see what I'm trying to say here. Practice/train with extreme settings then you compete in a more normal setting, in this case SH tires then to SS tires, you will become better. I hope I am explaining myself clear enough here and you all understand what I am trying to say. Embrace events like this and don't be afraid to challenge yourselves, you'll be better for it in the end.....trust me. Have faith and believe in yourselves, with patience and practice, comes success. Good luck everyone, I believe in you all.

Same thing happened with me. :D

My LFA 'Nurburging Package' was already tuned so I had to downgrade it a bit but I'm happy to share the finished tune (although I'd consider it more of a bodge that something done with finesse). It allows you to break a little later into the turns and use the slight oversteer (but not sliding - watch that throttle!) to pull you in tight for a quick exit and a surprisingly smooth lap. Avoid those curbs and gold should be yours wihtout much hassle.

What a terrible seasonal.

Golded, but what a terrible handling situation, under braking, slightest hint of throttle, very slight slip angle, very, very unrealistic, the car is sideways at 45Mph........ really..... I dont think so.

Coupled with the new FFB of the G27, HORRENDAPIG!!!!

I like your tip about exercising with 'less grip' tires. Without changing any other setting but the tires(CS) I made silver. I then changed the tires to SH and immediately shaved of 3.7 secs. The round after that I made gold. Now I'm playing 'around' with one of your magical and fun tunes, thanks once again!
