Logitech Driving Force GT

Amazon UK have got the DFGT for £49.99, now I just need to convince the wife a wheel stand pro is a good investment even though it costs more than the wheel!

edit...it's back up to £75, hope I help a few people bag a bargain

Just noticed this earlier today and ordered mine. Never tried a wheel with a game before and am looking forward to giving it a go.

Now I have to decide whether it's worth getting the mig welder out and one of the bucket seats I have in the loft and building a set-up.
Has anyone removed the shifter from the wheel to relocate it?

^You can' as it is fixed to the wheel, its a shame because i live in the uk i can't move the shifter so it is on the CORRECT side of me!!

I know it's fixed now but I do own a hacksaw and a soldering iron so it doesn't have to stay that way. I was wondering if anyone else had removed theirs, if it came separate then there would have been no need for the question.

Glad I paid for it last night too as when I checked Amazon today it's gone back up to £75.

Yeah!
Yesterday i bought my DFGT here in São Paulo.
It was goddamned expensive @ R$ 510,00 aka 293USD but it was worth every single real.

GT5 just transformed from a easy stick racer to a sim.
Can't wait to start playing the game properly, first i need to learn how to drive again :(

Check his location. People outside the US pay more for stuff than you. A G27's cost for him would probably be prohibitive.

I have a problem with rally in GT5 and the DFGT, the wheel have very strong FFB effects even if I set the FFB to 1 in the option menu. I'm scared I can break the wheel if I drive too much time on dirt tracks. I softened suspension of the car, till the minimum allowed but I still don't like the harshness. Any advice for rallying with a DFGT in GT5?

Same as with the G27, don't.
I personally wouldn't run it. After I tried it once and felt the internals of my G27 at 9.2 on the richter scale I thought forget that.

Run it at your own risk.

Yeah but it's a BIG issue, I really wonna do some rally in Gt5 without destroying my wheel. :nervous: I remember I even made the Loeb event with the DS3 because of that. Maybe someone in the forum know some tips, maybe with proper suspension tuning.. who knows.

I don't believe there's any possibility that you're going to break the wheel because of the force feedback being so strong; I used the DFGT since launch and the Pro since launch before that with the FF always set to around the 6-8 range and they're both still working perfectly. Now, as for you simply not liking that much FF, I guess the only advice I can give is to just unplug the wheel and have no FF whatsoever. You can still drive with it...not that it's much fun.

"Unplug the wheel" sorry I didn't understand what you mean, is there an option to turn off the FFB completely?
PS I was exclusively talking about "rally FFB". For normal tracks I use Simulation and 7 FFB.

Yes, pull out the cord with the round connector from the wheel and the wheel will work but without any feedback.

I don't like rallying in GT5 with the DFGT either, but I've actually found it to be a car setup thing than the wheel being overly strong. You'll find the cars a bit better to handle if you strip the downforce off them (at least this is what i've found). They still require a lot of wheelwork, but it's nothing the Logitech wheels can't take...

Doesn't sound great rally with zero FFB.
Basically is a GT5 menu problem. In GTR2 I can edit FFB how I want, I can even change the wave type for curbs. Oh well, I guess if I want some serious rally I'll go buy Richard Burns and mod it.. just a bit of a hassle, but one day I'll do it.

Im trying to set up my DFGT with my laptop but I cant seem to be able to download the drivers from Logitech. I click on the download software button and nothing happens... I registered the product and myself but still no go... can anyone help me?

Seems to work fine for me. If you're having trouble, let me know what operating system you're on, PM your email and I'll send it over to you.

PS, Awesome resurrection ;)

Is it possible to replace the potentiometers on the DFGT pedals if so anyone done it can a relative noob do it:dunce:?? Ive tried Ebay etc but cant find them anywhere however only ones for the G27.:grumpy:
