Logitech G25 Racing Wheel

What is there to wait for, this wheel is PERFECT, there is nothing to improve.

Are you kidding me? Don't make me laugh.... The wheel is FAR from perfect! I am still debating whether to even buy the wheel. I saw a video review and was disspointed to hear the "zip-zip" noise is back, as a result of the gears driving the wheel when you steer. The ZipZip noise is the most annoying thing I've had to deal with, with previous Logitech wheels. Yeah this one's quieter, but it's still there.

And don't get me started on that poor excuse for a gear shifter. You wanna see a badass gear shifter? Watch these vids....

I honestly don't think I'll be buying the G25 at this point, especially after having recently read the BRD article in the latest issue of AutoSimSport, where Tim Ball states they'll be releasing their Speed 7 FF wheel sometime in the next couple months. He seems like he means it this time too!

Well I dont hear no zip zap noise because I have my logitech surround sound, and all I hear is my motor, and are you kidding me, look at this shifter its HORRIBLE!! I've never seen a car without a shifter boot, unless you live in the 1920's!

Dude....just admit it...You're NOT going to find a wheel that is going to be 'dual purpose' (Used on BOTH PS2&3 AND a PC)...and the only way that's ever going to happen any time soon is if Frex jumps back into the equation, which according to the RSC forum...is only going to happen when HELL FREEZES OVER! :D

And the same is going to be true for the xBox 360!
Yes! It's a sad state...but it's state nonetheless! So, I'd start deciding what's more important...console racing or PC racing...and go with that decision...but don't ask for both cuz it's NEVER going to materialize!

Isamu:
is the driver in the video japanese or is he driving a right-handed car? well you gotta admit, those shifters are really bad ass...and ugly at the same time. i could imagine that the shifter alone would cost more than the g25. well if that's your poison. Although it is an overstatement to say the G25 is perfect in general, but say in its price range, that statement fits the bill. As for buying the G25, dont debate it with yourself anymore, im gonna suggest to you...dont buy it. Why? you might like it. Youll feel bad if you do. We'll just tell you how it is.

I dont think I'll be buying any new games for a while, since the wheel has sent me broke! I did try the H-gate though, I tried it on a computer game, and it's awesome. Its not too hard, or too soft to shift. The only problem with H-gate is the loud clicking when changing gears

lol, i actaully meant, you should download the demo for pc ;) no need for buying any games:)

oh, did you try to play gt4 with it?

anybody knows when the steering wheel is released in middle east? UAE??

I've had DFP since GT4 was released, but i want the G25 so bad now! but what id logitech comes with a new wheel in about a year again?? then it's wasted money.. :guilty:

SRD, you must have been reading my mind lately. Because this is EXACTLY what I've been debating over the past couple weeks.

You hit the nail right on head my friend. There will NEVER be an industrial wheel in the FREX/BRD class, for both console and PC. Hard as I've tried, I've failed to reach ShigeT and even Tim Ball when I asked him about it a while ago. Those guys will cater to the PC crowd and only to the PC crowd.

As a result I have made my decision. I have decided to sell my soul to PC racing sims forever. It's just not worth investing time trying to convince wheel makers to adopt the console crowd. Much as I like the Gran Turismo series, I must honestly admit the more I read about rFactor and all the mods coming for it in the rFactor forum, the more I get excited about it. I just can't see anything in Gran Turismo that would justify playing it over rFactor.....ESPECIALLY with this new retarded pricing gimmick.

I will still get a PS3 but my main game will be Ridge Racer 7, which I will play with the gamepad. I eventually will get a G25 and GTHD, but my priority is rFactor right now. I can't think of a better experience than playing those kick-ass open F1 cars with a true F1 Momo wheel mounted on the Speed 7 wheel and pedals, coupled with my two iVibe seats, Frex's SimConMeter and of course my lovely BRD frame. It's honestly got me drooling at the mouth!

GTHD, Forza 2, etc can wait. rFactor with a REAL manly FF wheel, and REAL sim equipment.... here I come!!!👍

It's time to play with the big boys!! :)

How about you? Where do your priorities lie?

I'm gonna buy one, that's for sure...
For that money it seems perfect... and great improvment over DFP...

Thats what I mean, Im talking about quality and price range, not equipent wise only!!

unfortunately, no. As I stated in my pic gallery(probably didn't see it) my disk broke, and I am too lazy to buy a new one. Since blockbuster is right up the street, maybe I'll just rent it(if they have it)

hehe, a little off topic, but glad to see another RSC user!! I go there for the Racer Free Car Simulation, its pretty fun!

I have owned every Logitech wheel since the Force (Red and yellow, blue) GT. I'm always curious to see what improvements they make when coming out with something new. I even went so far as to pick up a Logitech Momo Force Red just because one reviewer said it was amazing for GT-3. He was right. It blew away the GT Force Wheel at the time. It really sucked when Sony took out the drivers in GT4 for that wheel. The DFP was a good alternate, but I really missed that solid feel of the MOMO. Anyway, after I heard about the G25 I just had to try it. I will say for a CONSUMER mass market wheel the thing is amazing. GT-4 is awesome with this thing. For sure better than the DFP. Is it worht the 300 Bones? That's really up to the individual. I like to play so I thought so. There are better wheels out there, so they say, but they are really niche and way more money. I dig the Frex stuff and the BRD stuff too. As far as Consumer wheels go this is for sure the best one. BTW I play PC sims too (GTR1,2, Legends, F1 Challenge) and this wheel is nice to be able to do both really well.

...How about you? Where do your priorities lie?

IF I had the funds to puchase a PC for just gaming, seeing as my current setup can't really do it, I'd be all over GTR/GTR2/rFactor and the rest of the kick-a$$ pc games....but until then, I'm fine with just racing on the PS2 and the PS3 when it comes out!

try to find that demo...but i think if 2003 nascar had it, so maybe the 2006 or maybe even 2007 already has got the feature of h-pattern.

Unfortunately Nascar racing 2003 season was the last of that series (great Nascar sim) but yes it doe's support H pattern shifters.

No I mean Nascar 2003 Racing season by Papyrus (guys who made GTL) / Seirra was the last of that series, any later Nascar games are EA I think and are not such a sim as the papyrus made games.

I don't know if the EA Nascar games support H pattern, I wouldn't count on it.

gpstore sent confirmation that they have received my payment thismorning. It will ship in 1-4 days and be her 2-3 days after that:D So it will be here monday at the earliest and friday at the latest.

ya right...it was papyrus.👍 best ever!!

ok, one more time:D does anybody know when the wheels getting released in the middle east??💡

Got mine in yesterday. Excellent feel and quality. The shifter is the weakness, but I don't mind. Just don't be too rough on it. The wheel is extremely smooth and each pedal has a different feel. This is a must-have!

Also, the shifter does not have an extra gate for reverse. Just 1-6.

It does have reverse. You have to push down the shifter and push it right. Any person with a 6 speed car should know there is a special lockout for reverse. (On STi and EVO the is a ring you pull up, it is creative)

Guys relax...I have some encouraging news about the shifter.

There is a chance Robbo will be modding his A1 shifter to work with the G25! No more flimsy shifter! More details in the A1 sub-forum.👍 👍 👍

Ehhh $259 for a 3rd party shifter? Fogget about it. I paid less than that for the wheel by itself.

This reminds of that guy saying how new FREX wheel will "stick it" to Logitech. Sorry but a $1000 wheel + $500 pedals and all that jazz, how does that compare to a $150 Logitech DFP exactly? Not everyone spends that kind of money..

Exactly! For $300 bones you get a lot of wheel and the pedals are the best they've made yet. The shifter is nice enough. It works fine if you're not a brute when shifting. If Sony doesn't take advantage of this wheel for the PS3 they need their heads examined.

I'm left in a sad spot then... I gave up on my pc a while ago and moved to consoles, and now my pc can't run the great racing games worth a ****. I'll still hold onto hope that one day consoles will see a true shifter, and until then I won't shell out the cash for the inferior pos wheels that are coming to 360...

PS-
Well I dont hear no zip zap noise because I have my logitech surround sound, and all I hear is my motor, and are you kidding me, look at this shifter its HORRIBLE!! I've never seen a car without a shifter boot, unless you live in the 1920's!

ferrari, lamborghini...
