Logitech G25 Racing Wheel

noooooooo,i called the logitech dealer here and he told me, that they will recieve it end of december....OUCH :(

anyway, if somebody wants to sell and is ok with Cash on delievery-->ME WANT IT :D

I just got e-mail that mine shipped yesterday. Only ordered it two months ago! :yuck:

Anyway, at least it's shipped and they upgraded the shipping to puralotor express for free (like 2 day shipping I think).

I managed to get mine for about $250 including shipping & and all that stuff so I'm quite happy with the price.

If you have a G25 and a PS2 you MUST get NFS: Carbon, it supports not only clutch but H-Gate aswell(Including the push down reverse)!

Few questions for the G25 owners (I may have overlooked the answers, if so, I'm sorry for that).

First, how is the overall build quality, so far, I have read that it is very strong, except the H-gate shifter, is this true?

Is it noisy like the DFP, or is a much quieter wheel?

How does it work with GT4, I am aware that the H-gate wont work, along with the clutch, but does the steering and pedals, and everything else work as good as the DFP?

And finally, where are you guys finding it priced under Logitech's $300 price tag?

I am looking at this wheel because I want a stronger wheel in replacement of my DFP, which is coming of it's wear and tear age. I plan on using it for both PS2 (maybe PS3), and PC applications.

The G25 is much more quieter, and to me a little more precise/responsive than the DPF. I got mine for $250 off of Ebay 1 month before it even hit the shelves. I got everything from the OEM logitech stuff including warrenty. So your best bet to get one cheap is ebay.

P.S. The wheel is very strong, and you are right the shifter is a little on the weak side, but I did some hard shifting and so far no breakage. So i say GO FOR IT!!

The only downpoint is the fact that when you take the protective sticker of the centre logitech emblem it also pulls the emblem itself out lol. Easy fix. once youve experienced this you will never go back to the DFP MUCH more smooth and quiter and the pedals :drool , put the DFP's to shame. Infact it is HIGHLY superior in everyway. I don't no why people are saying the shifter is the weak piont i think it is incredibly tough. Buy it, you won't regret it:D

I finally found this wheel at a store here in toronto...

Its kinda expensive tho compared to what you guys are paying for yours.

$380.97 CND is the price tag on this wheel. Comes out to about $430CND with taxes.

Do you guys think its worth buying it? I really love playing LFS and this wheel is very tempting:)

Build quality is AMAZING! Most of it is steel/aluminum, much more solid and heavier than DFP. The complaint about the H shifter is not that its weak, or poorly built, its just that it doesnt have the resistance of a real car. Just take a bit getting used to it, but overall its great.

Much quieter than DFP

Works just as well as the DFP did. No cluth and H pattern shift tho. However the shifter feels a bit smoother than the DFP in sequential mode. I find it much more precise and really brings out the cars charachteristics w/ driving. I can also finally drift in GT4 as the wheel is very responsive, and returns to center much quicker. I feel like you can really throw the wheel around as opposed to the DFP, where it produced this lound whirling noice.

Look at online stores, or check froogle. I got mine @ buy.com for 255, but i think they raised their prices couple of days later.

Just get it, if you play driving games a lot, and I assume you do since you're on this forum, you wont regret it. Its well worth the price, and I doubt youll go back to the DFP after using it.

i found it for cheap!!!!

$279.99:)
Thats in CND dollars to:sly:

I might pick it up in 2-3weeks got my psp pending to sell just for this wheel!!!!:)

I just ordered mine for 230€ :sly: i should get it in the end of the week, so expect a full review then.

forgot the review :ouch: but, has anyone else noriced how hot the top of G25's top gets? :odd: I almost burnt my hand there.. I think it might need some sort of cooling fan soon.

I got it for free. I reviewed it for a newspaper and together with it they will feature my racing simulator frame. We tried about every serious racing software out there in the PS2 and PC platform, but the G25 really shines in GTR2. It was such fun. a racing nirvana if you will. Not for kids though. Executing the heel and toe was ecstatic, if you know how to do it. I havent experienced anything like it, it was so close to real life racing minus the G-forces. It would be $ 300 well worth it the moment you opened the box. Although there are others purportedly better than the G25 but truly, for its price, this one will do and its gorgeous. Though i hope the shifter will hold up to the abuse, we will modify it to make it tighter.

In the future we will share with you our setup, and its a beautifully done piece from the creative minds of a 3rd world country like ours. We are the Highway Star Racing Concepts.

did you try the wheel in live for speed? www.liveforspeed.net

Yeah, we are trying to locate a disk for that and we are having a hard time looking for one. Apparently, its not a popular game here as there are not many really serious racing gamers here. We are flooded with GT4 and other PS2 racing games. We love to try it out with LFS, and with our predicament, our review was rendered somehow incomplete. But anyway, no one here will notice, i hope.

Well, I've tried it with LFS and I have to say that it rocks, no matter what your driving style is. my only worry is the heat problem and shift misses.. ( though, the latter one can be fixed with practice and precice movements.)

how would you guys compare your experiences in using the G25 with the LFS and GTR2? how different are these 2 games in terms of simulation?

I think that LFS has better feedback. GTR2 felt too much like plastic, shiny new car that goes into red alert every time when you try to exceed the limits, where as LFS feels more like old, bit worn yet cozy workhorse who rewards your efforts with better time. in addition, GTR2 did have problems with the gears, occasionally it didn't engage gear before multiple try-outs.

Exuse me but..

YES I ordered mine a few days back can't wait to go pick it up:yuck: it's on backorder that can take a while

I could get is at a store voor 300 but I orderd it online for 215 euro's that means I got money for a gig ram jeej bring it on :D the only downside is a have to wait for like ever but my driving lessens will keep my mind some where else..I hope:dunce:

I've seen some movies on google video, one word: awsome:drool: . So I'm going after GTR2 for my pc and it works for GT4 jeej can't wait:dopey:

has anyone had any problems with the G25's shifter yet? mine tends to do this: on second gear, it either slips to neutral or 4th. I'm considering opening the shifter and seeing if there's something loosened up that causes this annoying little behaviour. otherwise my G25, shifter and clutch and all have worked just lovely.

our shifter unit must be defective. when we switch to the sequential mode these things happen:
-it wont shift at all
-it shifts by itself ( we are in manual, it just changes gears suddenly and without timing )
-the paddle shifters wont work ( or is that normal? )
-when it does shift up, it does so continuously straight to the 6th gear and wouldnt shift down anymore.

We just dont use it anymore in the sequential mode for fear of destroying it in frustration.

The paddles though has its own problem. Due to its softness, its so easy to accidentally push it to a higher or lower gear, especially when you are in a rally race where there is a constant movement of the wheel from countersteering. Modify here, Modify there.

The g25 isn't bluetooth, is it? That would be sweet. I can't stand wires.
