No. I must have missed the Bahrain chavs smashing shops up and stealing thousands of pounds of clothing and electronics. What's Arabic for "lol just got some killer nike airs wiv a 5-finger discount lol!!!"?

I've also completely missed the parts where the British police have descended on Kensington and carried out random beatings and raids on houses of people who have nothing to do with it and are from a different demographic altogether.


Anyone drawing a parallel between civil unrest at brutal, oppressive regimes and pissed-up chavs smashing up and setting fire to their own neighbourhoods is missing several points.

So, just to get this straight, the protests in Bahrain weren't about the majority Shia population demanding equality, a rewriting of the constitution and the resignation of the King but were actually about chav kids smashing up their own neighbourhoods to steal stuff from supermarkets and shops?

And the British police haven't been trying to control and contain the riots, cleaning up the following morning once they can escort the fire crews in but have been carrying out random beatings and home raids in unaffected areas of the city?
