Have many folks nailed this with stock settings? I know it's do-able but just can't nail a great lap, when I do manage to finish one there are at least a couple of places I could've gone a lot faster. Around 1:58.5 was my best, if I remember correctly. May well adjust settings to gold it, then switch back to default, but I am stubborn =)

Oh yeah am running DS3, TCS at 1 and ABS at 1. Usually run TCS at 0, wondering if I am losing out there.
I did it stock and only ABS1, that TCS is doing nothing but slowing you down, took me some tries but it's do-able.

I wish I had the dedication you guys have when it comes to improving my times on seasonal events. I always strive for gold, but quite often as soon as I get a gold medal time I am completely done. Whether I beat the Gold medal time by 0.01s or 1.0s I usually move on to something else. Frankly, I think I am probably doing myself a disservice by not taking advantage of good "practice" material. Now, I know 10,000 laps of this seasonal, for example, isn't going to put me even close to some of the times mentioned in this thread, but I probably would improve myself significantly. I guess I just lose interest. :dunce:

ALB123 Every lap you run will make you better. It's like filling up a water tank one drop at a time. You won't notice it at first, but in time you'll look back and realize just how much you improved. I think it's one of the license tests where you have to run an F40 around the carousel at the Nurb (can't recall if it was GT5 or gt6). I couldn't for the life of me do better than bronze so I moved on. Three months later I went back and got gold rather easily. At that moment I realized how much I had improved.

If you enjoy the game then put some free time into it now and then. You will slowly but surely get faster.

@t_wilson01 Oh, without question I have improved substantially in just the last month or two. Specifically because I never used to be able to drive without that dreaded Driving Line turned on. I'm still learning to drive without it, however, I'm better on some tracks than others. That was expected. As I dedicate more time to different tracks, I know I will improve even more without depending on that driving line. It is strange how different the game feels when you're not staring at that line, waiting for it to turn red. LOL! For full disclosure, I haven't turned off the recommended gear indicator - so I still have that flashing as a warning light, but it's no where near as much of a crutch as the driving line was.

Well most of my motivation comes from trying to get my work out of my mind, I mean most of my work days I spend solving some stupid problems of some stupid devices whit customer and my boss both being complete jack asses, so when I came to home I just slap my PS on and start doing some laps, I mean I forget my stupid work related problems as I start to build frustration towards the game :D I know that sounds weird but I rather try to solve why I'm so slow than try to figure how some 20 year old device might work and what the heck is wrong whit it :D

And yeah, that's just one reason I think I grind so much, also I'm an adrenaline addict and the game is easy way to get my daily injection of that sweet sweet adrenalin, and for example on nurb 24h TT I pushed my self almost every day beyond my limits and on a last day I was still improving and it was after like 2 hours when i noticed that my whole body was trembling, I mean really badly, I was breathing really heavily and my heart was literally about to explode out of my chest so I closed my eyes and tried to breath in trough my nose and slowly blowing it out between your lips (this is some sort of breathing technique to relax) and I felt like there was some sort of waves shooting trough my whole body as I try to relax my body some how... And that was really a freaky moment, I mean really, I some how managed to push my self so hard that my body just could not handle the adrenaline no more, and although I'm not in the best shape of my life no more but still I'm a young man so my body still can but up whit a lot and it's just really cool to reach those limits on my home couch!!!

And yeah, I'm a little bit of a neurotic person, nothing that I cant handle but I have yet to make "a perfect lap" (nor I think I never will) and even though I'm quite satisfied after a good lap but pretty soon I stat to figure I did that little mistake that I could easily avoid and make eve a better lap, which is going to mean a new shot of adrenalin so it becomes attractive idea to try to improve just that another bit more.

Hope this makes sense and just remember we are all different so this may not apply to you, and many times when I don't feels so motivated, all I need to do is fire my PS up and do a couple of laps and after first shot of adrenaline I'm again motivated.

I'm still trying to break into top 500 for the very first time in a seasonal event. No ABS, No Traction control whatsoever. No particular reason just for the sake of achieving a personal target.

I'm stuck at 1:49:523 which I still need to improve by a sec to reach into top 500. I compared to @TRL_beau provisional number one and straight line speed at pit straight blow me away at the start.

I'd tried all the tunes as suggested in the post.

Anyone know of a better tune will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Don't suggest more laps without another tune as I'd already driven so many laps that I had to spent a million bucks to rebuild the engine and restore the body :P:banghead:

@Weider's tune (listed in the OP) is the best your going to get. I know beau, Chris93, myself, and I think jb are all in the top 5 using his tune. Plus many others who are in the top 25 and top 50 are also using it. One thing you can do though is put 16kg of ballast and keep 1049bhp. It's worth around a second a lap.

I've often wondered if a "perfect" lap has ever been done. By anybody, virtual or in reality.

Doubt it, I mean there is always room for improvement even if we are just talking about thousands of a second. Oh boy if i could just string together all of my best ever sector times and manage that "perfect" lap :)

Thanks. Just got a 1:48:763 ranked @ 477. Don't know how long I'll stay above 500 but confident enough to be able to shave another 300ms on another day :D:cheers:

Yes, I just did couple of laps on Weider tune and started to wonder how did I suddenly start to loose .1s on end of that first straight, seems like my oil has gone bad so I dropped the ballast, but it seems really obvious now how the car doesn't mind the few extra kilos but really enjoys those few extra BHP's you get. Really good tip thank you for that, and although I really liked the praiano tune this still seems a lot more consistent though the understeer frustrates me and it seem like I have to rotate the wheel a lot more than in praianos tune I think I'll be driving it in Weider tune any way.

Thanks for good bits of information, it's great help for motivation when you don't have to figure out everything by your self. And of course I wan't to thank all the tuners but that's kinda obvious that they deserve the greatest thanks of all making these public, great stuff and makes me and many more enjoy the game a lot more!!!

I just mustered up a 1:54.793 on stick with all driving aids disabled (ABS too) and I'm beyond content. I enjoy the track thoroughly (which is probably why I was able to do it) but not the car, but I may revisit it to get farther under 10k rank. Happy. :)

did about 30 minutes just now and got a 1:43.9xx for 6th realized during the end that trail braking doesn't work the best for me with this car, and have to lift and let the car coast instead...

Prior to this Seasonal I had done 6 laps of Spa and hated it.
Now I just did a 1:47.169 which puts me below 300 on the rankings. Plus I can consistently run 1:47.3xx Not bad considering my first timed lap was a 2:03. Hahah.

Edit: 223 ranking currently.

Well after some tuning changes (modified weider tune, with just a tad of camber and a little less rear downforce) I have dipped to the 1:47.9xx range. I am in the high 200's and I botched the chicane, so I know I have probably a half second there. I'd love to get in the top hundred but still haven't had the time to do it during the day with the manual. Congrats to you guys in the 1:44 and lower range. That is wickedly fast.

Ride Height: 58/60
Spring Rate: 19,65/22,20
Dampers (Compression): 3/6
-//- (Extension): 4/5
Anti-Roll Bars: 3/4
Camber: 0,0/0,0
Toe: -0,65/0,00
I changed the aerodynamics a bit. If you have changed the rear wing, use 1500/2000
If not, use 1500/1980
Good luck 👍

Thanks for this - Brought my personal best time on this event down by almost 4 seconds over the stock tune!
