You'll probably get that pick-me-up at our expense. Already looking forward to Texans' preseason football at this point of the Astros' sad 2011 season.

Well ya happy? :P

Made us look like complete idiots out there tonight. I stopped watching when the score hit 9-0. Hopefully SF loses. (currently are)

👎:yuck:

I honestly didn't even see the game. In fact, this game was to be blacked out in my area until the Astros helped to lift the blackout of this game. I did not see a single second of the game. Glad we won, though! ^_^ Still, it's only one game in our already-over season.

Not a huge deal now since the Giants were shut out by the Pirates last night. Not sure what happened with our starting pitcher, but I would have taken him out after the first inning. The reliever that came in afterwords was better!

Okay. I found out the Astros (who some people are calling the "Lastros") won 9-1 over Arizona last night in Phoenix. Again- the season is over, so all of what we do are all in preparation for the 2012 season. So none of this matters, though I'm pleased we won.

When did Woody Harrelson start playing in the majors?

The original beard to fear! Brian Wilson was a repost before he stopped shaving. Casey Blake's bobblehead doesn't bobble - the chin is so big it just stays on his chest.

Diamondbacks are in first place! And increasing their lead! :D

Going to tonights game vs the Mets. Hopefully we can keep the winning streak alive, which is currently at 4 games. Unheard of for this team this year.

When the going gets tough... bean batters and walk out on the team? That's what Carlos Zambrano did last night. He's likely sealed his fate for the Cubs and for maybe any other team looking for a pitcher. I wouldn't want Big Z even for my Astros after what this guy pulled last night. People... what are your thoughts on the (understatement) questionable conduct of Carlos Zambrano?

The Dodgers are fresh off of a sweep of the Astros. This season may be a throwaway nightmare for the ownership and MLB, but it is refreshing to see that the players still want to do their job when they show up to work.

Matt Kemp is just, wow. Clayton Kershaw is also blasting his way into the elite handful of starters. Him and Lincecum are easily the best starting pitchers in the West and its awesome that Clayton has a track record of dominance against Timmy y Los Gigantes. That should come in handy if the Dodgers find themselves in a pennet race next season.

Though the Dodgers are in much deeper trouble than my sorry ass Astros, good for the Dodgers to get it done against my hometown's MLB team. We've a throwaway nightmare ever since the Astros found every conceivable way to fail. I don't even care much about this season anymore for my Astros. When you stink this bad, you still obviously your team, but you're still mad as hell that your team performs terribly. I really didn't expect the Astros to be this bad this season. I've run out of reasons to care about the Astros this season. But still- they're my team. Just that the 2011 Astros have really failed badly.

Good luck to all the other teams the rest of the way. I just hope the Texans don't pull their own rendition of the 2011 Astros' performance this coming NFL season...

Really loving what the Diamondbacks are up to right now, although we're losing players left and right due to injuries. Although we're on a 6-game wining streak, not looking forward to the 3-game series against the Phillies this week. :nervous:

Congratulations to Jim Thome on clobbering his 600th home run. Welcome to the 600+ jack club! The Minnesota Twins won 9-6 in Detroit.

Incredibly impressive considering he had never even been accused of taking steroids. Classy guy and a phenomenal hitter.

Jim Thome has always been one of my favorite players to watch. I'm really glad he didn't retire. I enjoyed having him on the Dodgers for our '09 run at the NLCS.

People are asking if Jim Thome will be in the Hall of Fame. I respect the guy, so yeah.

I heard we got lucky last night beating the Cubs. It was a 6-5 win for the Astros. I found out we were down 5-2 in the Bottom of the 9th. A stellar four-run inning helped the Astros win at home. And I quote:

"It shows we're still fighting. It's not like we're giving up or anything. You put together an inning like that in the ninth down three, it just shows the team has still got it in them."

-Matt Downs, Astros' Infielder

After taking the third game of the D'back series with our second string, the Phils take it on the chin in Washington. We went into the ninth inning with a 4-2 lead and closer Ryan Madson gives up three straight singles to make it a one-run game. A sacrifice bunt, intentional walk and another single ties the game handing Madson only his second blown save of the season. A walkoff grand slam by Ryan Zimmerman and that's all she wrote.

Diamondbacks halted their 6-game skid tonight. And thankfully San Diego held off San Francisco to get our lead back to 2 games. We're really struggling to put the ball where it needs to be to produce runs. Plenty of contact but they're always right to a fielder for an out. I hope our recent trade helps with this, because we really need it.

How do you show you're the better team? By hitting THREE Grand Slams, that's how! The New York Yankees pounded the Oakland Athletics 22-9. I read that the Yankees were down 7-1 until they eventually pounded out those Grand Slams. Who were the men guilty of drubbing the A's in this one? Cano, Martin, Granderson. Congratulations to the Yankees on accomplishing this feat of three Grand Slams in a game.

On a much less significant note, my Astros won 3-1 over the Giants on Thursday at beautiful AT&T Park. Sosa got his first win as Melancon got the Save. Vogelsong lost for SF. I'm happy for wins, but with our season already over, at least it's something to look forward to for next season.
